Captain Math
It's time for an updated thread, and rather than necro the original, it's time to start it fresh.
Original thread: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...by-the-Numbers
So here's what each stat gives us:
1 might = 4 block
1 might = 2 parry
1 might = 2 physical mitigation
1 might = 10 physical mastery
1 might = 10 tactical mastery
1 agility = 4 evade
1 agility = 2 parry
1 agility = 1.75 crit
Agility is known to influence melee accuracy, exact details are unknown
1 vitality = 3 morale
1 vitality = 2 physical mitigation
1 vitality = 4 tactical mitigation
1 vitality = 2 resistance
1 vitality = 7.2 OCMR
1 will = 3 power
1 will = 2 resistance
1 will = 12 OCPR
ICPR = 30 * sqrt(fate)
1 fate = 1.5 ICMR
1 fate = 1.75 crit
1 fate = 0.00025 healing crit multiplier **
1 armor = 1 common mitigation
tactical mitigation = floor(armor/5)
the floor function does the division, then drops any decimal component. AKA integer divide.
Notes:
Armor is assumed, and untested.
** Thanks Armitas, see http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...rit-multiplier for more info.
Edit:

Re: Captain Math
Armor doesn't provide physical mitigation, just common (and 1/5 tactical)
Although the difference is only relevant while sparring. Physical mitigations affect incoming beleriand, ancient dwarf.
Not terribly important.

Re: Captain Math
Extrapolating from the OP, a lot of conventional wisdom is pretty well confirmed:
- Stack vit for tanking
- Stack might for everything else (while making sure you don't sacrifice too much morale)
- Fate and agility are good secondary/tertiary stats, although sacrificing might for either is (usually) not a good idea. Also, the current itemization doesn't favor a very high fate score without sacrificing a lot of might.

Re: Captain Math
While I definitely agree that Vit should be treated as a primary stat for tank builds (meaning it's ok to lose Might for it, as on the Tognir armour), it's also worth noting that straight morale on jewelry is extremely helpful as well, to make up for the fact that we get 3xVit morale instead of 5xVit. You want the mits from Vit as well, obviously, but that's still a consideration that needs to be made when looking at items for tanking. Fortunately, a lot of items with Vit will also have pure morale on them as well.
So, I wouldn't trade Vit on one item for morale on another, but if there's one item with Might+Vit and another with Vit+morale, the latter one could be better. This is particularly true since Might will affect blocking and physical mits, but not tactical mits. For a tactical-heavy fight (all of ToO, basically), I think Vit+morale would be the better choice between the two. For most other group content, Might+Vit is probably the better choice for the extra Block/Parry and phys mit. Might+morale like on the Great River earrings is a valid compromise if you're not tanking.
