How do I get Legendary Weapons?

    Hello,

By now with all these questions ive been asking, Im probably becoming a pain in the butt to most people on this forum. But i need to ask. How do i get my first legendary weapon? I saw a thread on this BUT it was from 2 and a half years ago so im wondering if anything has changed. Someone said you get the first legendary weapon from the Book 2 chapter 1 quest but thats in Moria right? Do i need to buy the expansion pack to get the legendary weapon? Please if anyone could clear this up i would appreciate it!

    Thank You!

You get your first LI by completing the epic quest in Eregion/Echad Dunann. There is an NPC near the Echad Dunann stable master and the Gates of Moria. It is an instanced set of epic quests that will grant your first LI upon completion. The epic is a level 50 quest, so you can do it as early as lvl 45.

    Good luck,

    Fara

    Yep it's true.
You don't need to buy ANY expansion or quest pack.
You can enter every area available via the Epic Book Line of Quests

The upisde is you dont need to spend any TP on anything

The downside is you will reach points in the game and along the quest line, where you are not high enough level to carry on .... then what do you do? the ONLY XP you will get is from killing random mobs

Yes, that is true. The quest that EagleNine is talking about is Volume 2 Book 1 of the Epic quest series. Completing that book will also allow you to enter Moria. (After all, the Watcher in the Water blocked the Hollin Gate after Frodo & company passed thru... gotta clear out the rubble and stuff!)

Once you get this quest series done, you'll be able to equip other LI's once you are high enough level. Unidentified LI's drop off of most humanoids level 51 and up.

Before you had to. As it is for some time now, all the areas are accessible to all players, even F2P. What you don't get without the expansion are the normal quests for those places and access to skirmishes/instances/raids related to that expansion pack.

Note that every content past Eregion is expansion.

    Moria > Lorien > Mirkwood > Enedwaith > Dunland > Isengard > Great River.

There are a few ways to go through with it though, which is killing mobs for deeds, which also gives you TP (and believe they can add up to a point that you can buy an expansion pack!), and the other way is doing skirmishes, which give you silver, marks and medallions, which you'll need if you ever get to end-game content.

Each skirmish has a daily bonus. This means that if you do it for the first time in a day, you get extra XP. I believe after lvl 51 the skirmishes start giving you a lot of Item-XP for your LIs, which is also great!

I'm not sure also, but I believe F2P can have only 1 character. If you play all the way to Moria, you'll reach a level cap of 50. By then you'll know if you like the game or not. If you do, go ahead and pay for 1 month of subscription. This will unlock everything that your level 50 character would be able to have as a VIP. After that, you have 1 month to play to lvl 60 and unlock all legendary trait slots, which will remain open, along with the no cash limit and 5 bags after your 1 month of subscription ends.

If you didn't already, work on your deeds, and get TP to get the Moria expansion. Also note that now you retain Premium status! This means you can start 2 other characters which will also help you amass TPs as you level them.

F2P has two slots; premium adds one. MoM expansion (not Quest Pack!) adds two more slots, along with Warden and Runekeeper.

Also, in pure F2P, skirmishes have, as I understand it, painful limits on your soldiers rank.

Also, the daily quest bonus for skirmishes was eliminated with U6.

Tiger got to sleep, / Bird got to land,
Man got to tell himself he understand.

You don't have to buy any quest or expansion packs to level a character all the way to 75. You are, however, quite likely to quit from sheer boredom long before you get there, since you'd have to do it via grinding endless mobs, running the Epic quests whenever you reach a level where you can handle the next one, and endlessly doing whatever skirmishes you get automatically.

But as others have said in answer to your original question; acquiring your first legendary weapon happens as part of the introduction to Volume 2 of the Epic (which like all other parts of the Epic Books is free to all; F2P, Premium or VIP).

The quests are graded level 50 which means you can accept and probably complete them with most classes from level 45 up. At less than 50 some classes may have trouble completing some of the side quests, notably the Half-Orc cave. These are labelled Moria Expeditionary and if you don't or can't complete them, they will not stop you getting your legendaries.

To start the quest chain go to Echad Dunann in Eregion. Just to the left of the Stable master, there's a red portal with a dwarf standing beside it who will start you on the chain.
