Thread: Tuesday disguised as Monday means extra coffee is needed so the Coffee shop is Open.

And I need coffee today. Even though I woke up at my usual time yesterday, sleep eluded me last night.

It was a big weekend for many. Mostly good, I hope.

I thought about all of those who paid the ultimate price so we can have big weekends and live such comfort and relative lack of fear.

Then we had brats parboiled in beer and onions with roasted corn on the cob (wonderful) and watermelon.
It was good stuff.

Alditha and I still pop on there from time to time, and when we do it's on Shien. We're generally paired up with my trooper (Lamorack) and her Smuggler (Beira) or I'm running amok on my Imperial Agent (Shisou). Kin-wise we've got Randirim formed on the Pub side but it's just the two of us in it.

It was two solid hours of high-density squee. And now I don't have to keep covering my ears whenever some random person starts talking about XXXX punching XXXX.

Now that I've covered the last few days, today's the last day of our little visit and Alditha will be hopping a train back to the Great North this afternoon. Come heck or high water, somehow or someway I'll be following in a few weeks. Its still a bit early but I could hear back on the visa any day now so I'm a bit of a jittery wreck; bouncing back and forth from the mail box.

Last friday (on top of Alditha's graduation, Terry Prachett day, Geek Pride Day, and Towel Day) was my birthday so I've switched gears on my whole science thing. I'd lost about 25 lbs in the last year (though I got about 5 of it back in the past week >_>) and I think I have a relative handle on how the whole thing works so I'm using a more subjective metric this year. It won't provide as much raw data in the long run, but it might provide more relevant data. We shall see.

Meanwhile, Faythe has graciously opened the coffee house, the percolator is burbling away, Alditha has stumbled forth with her Angry Bird wrap hanging from her head, and the sun has emerged from... whereever it goes. Ya'll have a grand 'un!

Well we just had someone at the restaurant quit which puts yesterday, today, and tomorrow with only 3 people to cook. As awesome as I am , I would like a line of at least four because you just don't know when large groups come in or business picks up in the evenings. OH well, I have a 3 day weekend to look forward to

None of you should feel bad about Saturday, I kinda expected a no-show just because of Memorial weekend anyway and most people were unsure as it is. But I still held my ground in case someone showed up! I am pretty much open on the Thursday-Saturday evenings each week, so let me know a "more" definite tally of who would come this weekend.

Hey, look up Slamsolo on Shien - I'm puttering along but feel like I'm missing out without someone to group with. Rarely get to try those flashpoints or Heroics as they are just plain slaughter - even for an awesome smuggler like me!

Thanks for understanding Anarionadama - I definitely meant to come out. It's been awhile since we had a good old-fashioned coffeehouse hoedown (or even just cake and coffee!)


As for other stuff... our deck is completely demolished now. We've definitely still got raccoons in the attic (momma raccoon and I had a little surprise visit together yesterday afternoon - I don't know who jumped higher!). The garage looks so much better - but still have some junk to dispose of or give away. At least it's organized now though!

Off to our kid's school this afternoon - I'm chair of our building committee - and we're making a presentation to our school society about our plans for a new primary building. We hope to begin construction this fall. I don't know how I got roped into this role. I apparently am way too soft a touch...

Hope everyone survived this day when Monday and Tuesday joined forces into a dark army of despair.

It's a myth that won't go away. Sorry...

I'll try to make the meet this weekend. Last weekend, Spouse and I did something every evening.
