Whatever you may be; a skillful or terrible burg, a farmer of greenies or bane of ranked creeps, someone who can't win without CDs/stuns/traited riddles or someone who challenges themself to make the best of a more limited skill-set and generally someone who does or doesn't contribute to the poorness of PvP over here, it is regardless impressive that you managed rank so fast (despite what everyone says, it takes dedication and perseverance in most cases at the least). So congratulations on that feat.

However, anyone who says that questioning of playstyles doesn't belong in a 'grats thread is a mindless, bleating sheep.

Wow! No one derailed this thread yet?? I guess I will. Gratz on farming your rank. I was anxious to see the leaderboards today (Tuesday after Memorial Day). I was on all day long as were several other creeps that were watching for you. None of us saw you online and there was no word in OOC all day long about you ganking anyone at the rez or HH or anywhere else. Never on my track all day and I spent the day hunting for you. Yet, somehow you magically got 11K.

Well Scoobie there is no mystery as to when I was online yesterday. I was in the moors from 10 a.m. pst to 2:30 p.m. I know I killed Leeterofcola enough times that if you doubt me you can ask her. It is easy to rank when you get 150 a kill many times from Leeter. I also ran into Fonze and two greenie reavers he was grouped with multiple times, and on a couple occasions they came back from the rez over and over to finish me off, so thanks for all the renown Fonze and company. To be honest I am surprised Cupo didn't rant in ooc at one point because I saw him out one time, killed him, and didn't see him again. I also came back out for an hour at around 10:30 p.m. Sorry if you missed out on me. I would typically not reply to my own thread, but I felt you your comment needed to be addressed. You may dislike the ways in which I get my renown, but by farming I assume you mean farming myself, or in my words pulling an Ehpik and Fanduil. I will not stand for being accused of such a thing.

p.s. Grats on bringing a creep raid to cm to kill me after I asked for a 1v1.

But I'm going to say it, Earning 225k in just over 16 days (Basically 11k a day ever day for 16 days straight) while certainly possible (dependant on class/person/days/insert several other major factors here and then the other hundreds of minors ...) is not very believable.

Biggest victor of evidence pointing towards this is that the revenue of renown wasn't a very constant income.
There's too many negative factors surrounding a plausible explanation of legitimacy for this specific performance.


Saying this doesn't mean I don't like the guy.
In fact, I look forward to our GV fountain bathing sessions in future.

If you are a burg spending several plus hours a day out there (which he did for some insane reason), it is obviously possible as Madik proved. If he was farming himself, then he really, really stinks at it because he dropped in rating during the 16 days you pointed out. How many creeps would you need to even do that because of diminishing returns?

Most people who play in the Moors will have spike days. On May 19th, you had 11,184 in renown which is high for you. Should we automatically assume you were farming yourself on that day? The bottom line is Madik set a goal for himself and spent an obscene amount of time trying to achieve it.

I would like to for any of the other top ranked burgs to say whether or not they would be able accumulate that much renown if they did nothing but Moors for that much time during a day.

As for taking fountain bathes with Madik,........................ .......

Yeah, Fist farmed himself (7 reavers or something ridiculous like that?) and was kicked almost immediately for it. After having witnesses both in and out of kin along with screenshots of various things related to it, there was absolutely no question that he was and was consequently kicked despite his long standing activity and dedication to the kin. So, Dirv having joined Viat only a couple months ago, has even less of a leg to stand on.

If I even had the smallest notion he was farming, he'd be gone as he and all of our members are fully aware. And if any of you have legitimate proof, I'd love to see it and not just being butt hurt that he rake in renown by the thousands while everyone else is on stab taking pot shots at ba's.

Unless you are a tactical nuking class, there's no chance of you earning up to 30k in a day on windfola during regular facetime hours on an average day. Especially consecutively.

Heck, ygaer earning his 30k had a day of greenie farming, and spent hours in the moors. But, prime difference is that it's all of which can be accounted for by many other people.
Not to mention he is a runekeeper. Pretty prime difference in renown earning difficulty than the burglar.

If you go to the high population servers(Where, it is far easier to get a load of renown/infamy in a day), Euro or otherwise, the type of numbers he's raked in people don't get as constant as his most recent is recorded. Ever.

I could discuss all the different amounts of possibilities and how easy it is now to farm rank as anything on any side (Not really creepside as of U7).

Again, just because of my opinion I don't devalue him as a person or anything of the sorts. It's just a game in the long run.

I am tired of being accused of farming. Stop being hurt that I ranked faster than other people. The days I got the most renown I spent upwards of 17 hours a day in the moors. It is because of all this time spent that I hate the fact people are trying to make my accomplishment out to be less than it is. As far as Ygear being accounted for he is a fat dwarf that can bee seen a mile away, while I try to be a small and stealthy hobbit. I also made a lot because I don't hug my cooldowns. I will go into a group of creeps regardless if I have any way to get out or stay alive more than 3 seconds, my goal is to burn through 10k or whatever it may be before the healer knows someone is being attacked, because of this strategy my kill to death ratio is that of a reaver. If this task cannot be done (too many healers) I will let other people do the killing and I will kill them on their way back from the rez. You may not like that I do this, but it is how I rank, and it is not farming myself. When I go out in the moors my main goal is to get as much renown as I can, so I do not see how if someone makes this their goal for a two week period and has nothing better to do for that two week period that they cannot get as much renown as I did without farming. If you do think that is impossible then I guess you suck at getting renown.

One point and I'll let Wargfola take care of its own.....

If there is no one out to kill for hours on end then how do you still gain huge numbers even for servers like E and Brandy on this server?

1. Madik had several +20k days, all on weekends. The 45k "day" was over 3 days when the blackappendage site had an outage. He solos. Killing lower ranked creeps still gets you more than grouping.
2. Rawrspeech/Pillowpants/Lilliam/etc. has had many weeks like this. Take a look at Rawr's stats. You going to accuse her of farming too? http://dailystats.theblackappendage....ola/rawrspeech
3. You also add chatting with Rainithir, http://dailystats.theblackappendage....fola/rainithir, about some of his long streaks of +10k on "slow" weekdays and 20k days.

5. And Snoopykins on BW; and Grizlark (160k in one week followed by 65k the next) and Durkalurk on E, and Xuneng on Dwar, and Viceras (177k in one week) on G; and Racc (G), Nightarrow on Ridder, and Drullz on Silverlode.

Basically many other classes, creep and freep, on more and less populated servers ROUTINELY achieve the renown gain that you claim is not possible.

I dont understand the huge number confusion. His numbers according to theblackappendage aren't that big. He solos, you figure if he plays all day and solos 100 or so creeps he would get his numbers....It isn't that unrealistic even for Windfola.

I saw him pushing tons during this two week period. In my opinion, good job and congrats.

You could dig into the stats and see that 10+ players JUST in the past 30 days have earned more than Madik hs in the past 30 days. Not all are on E or B. Some are on Men, Rid, Dw, Gl, Silv. In fact 2 are burgs...on Firefoot and Dwarrow, two low pop servers.

In fairness, I think these outage are usually due to the LOTRO Leaderboards not updating and not The Black Appendage's fault. At least that is the way they spin it.

What's wrong with farming?

I have seen him alot the past couple weeks killing me and every other creep over and over. Before any of this question came up i can guarantee if you asked any creep the question "Which freep pulled in the most renown today?" the easy answer would have been Madik. In ooc how many times did i see the old qoute "arrrrr i hate burgs/ i hate Madik!!!"

Even though I honestly don't enjoy playing against Madik, For obvious reasons, I can tell you he does not farm. This hobbit will sit at OC and take down every creep on his way back. And as people have said he spends hours upon hours out here. Theres not a moment I don't see him blowing up some creep. The numbers he achieved can also be misconstrued because I believe he uses Renown boosts.

As I said, I really don't like his playstyle or anything of the sort, But I can vouch that he does not farm.

Stop trying to accuse someone who brings in more renown then you have seen of farming. It's childish and if you look at it from the big picture, It's clear he isn't farming.

Dirv, your claiming you don't hug your cooldowns and will push up for a fight, no matter what your chances of getting out alive, strikes me as a bit of bollocks. But then, like Naeg said, that's beside the point. And he only echoed my sentiment in saying, "Props for the commitment, it's no mean feat."

Now while I usually agree with Cons, I personally think he's in the wrong here. For one, the only "evidence" anyone's put forward so far is Scoob's claim he (and others) hunted you and never found you. That's not all that inexplicable, because stealth classes are programmed to be hard to catch. As for the renown numbers you threw up, I can say this: I once made 26k playing about 15 hours or so, and this was well before RoI, when Arga and Fel led raids the whole day, during a three-day weekend last year (I think). Heck, I do believe I made 7-9k a few times the last couple of months, and that's with the kind of idiotic pushes I indulge in that everyone seems to love to ridicule.

With Dirv's play style, the number of greenie creeps that run around as easy pickings, enough dedication and/or free time (the hobbit said he put in about 17 hours a day), I don't see the difficulty in picking up 10k or more days at a stretch, specially on a rez-camping burg.

Do I hate stealth classes? A resounding yes. Do I intensely dislike Dirv's particular brand of easymoding? More hell yesses are in order. Do I, however, think he pulled a Farmpaws/Wahime/Revolting/<insert known farmers" name here>? Sorry, but no.

It's not 10k days I'm looking at suspiciously when taking this into consideration. It has and will always be ridiculously easy to get rank on a freep. Creeps can get 10k days everday straight too, not as common because of imbalance(Especially now), and is very very class specific.

If I saw Madik earning 10-20k a day routinely, sure, no issue with that whatsoever, I may be surprised though (He wasn't even ranking that fast prior to these last weeks in question, now he's ranking at double the speed). It's the random inclination of patterns, to which Wrok's comment basically summed up my initial thought on the whole thing.

Can I just note, that Firefoot in particular is actually highlighted for some of the farmers that spend their time over there.
(Won't name the specific kinship known for it, but it has relations with Farmpaws.)

"Farming", if you mean killing your buddy who respawns so you can keep killing him, or taking advantage of a programming glitch, is cheating by definition. This isn't a gray area. Also, I don't think it is fun. The game is set up with certain parameters. Skirting game imposed parameters is cheating; skirting player or community-imposed prohibitions is just smart game play.

Camping a rez, OC, EC or map spot is not farming.

Personally I don't like the fact that PVE activities give renown, but there need to be incentives to flip keeps, kill NPCs, etc. in this version of PVP to keep things different, changing etc., and unfortunately Turbine essentially makes creeps PVE to initially rank or even be somewhat viable to play.
