Thread: Memorial Day

I wanted to take some time out of our sandbox to make a post to thank all of the members of our military that are currently serving or that have served and to remember those that have fallen defending the right for me to live in this great nation. Everyday brave men and women are risking their lives so I can sit and enjoy peace and prosperity (and lotro ), So if anyone has a line of thanks for our troops, both the fallen and those still with us please share. Also no political debates here pls, stick to remembering our troops.

Which country's military are you speaking of? Veteran Day in Norway was May 8th. As far as I know, this game is home to people from a few hundred countries, maybe you could be a bit more specific?

My thoughts go out to all Norwegian veterans who gave their lives, and veterans from other countries.

In particular, I would like to thank Nomere, whose fight against the armies of Angmar is truly inspirational.

There are more countries out there than just the U.S., remember that. But my respect and thanks goes to anybody who is risking their life on a daily basis for the sake of protecting others.

My thoughts are with the brave people of Afghanistan who held out against half the nations of the World without having artillery, tanks or aviation.

My thoughts go to our soldiers fighting under the mandate of the UN since WW II.

In Germany we are well aware, that civilians suffer the most in a war. That's why our "Volkstrauertag" also commemorates those who died through violence or an oppressive government. For us it's a day of silent remembrance - not patriotism.
