Re: This is not a joke anymore. Fix the darn Stable Rides from Freezing!
I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones... my main is a warden and I rarely use stables other than swift mounts. I agree this is a gigantic issue though.. Honestly I've only experienced it a few times very near to the stable destination so it wasn't a huge deal other than confusing me at first. Hopefully something will be done, I expected a hotfix days after this started to occur.

Its not going to be fixed because its a consistent trickle of money out of the system. Huge numbers of folk do Stangard-South Bree-Galtrev at 35s or what have you a pop and back again, glitch that once or twice...Ditto in and out of Esteldin and Thorin's and it adds up... Just think why there is no port or stable for Ox Clan.

For the same reason that repairs cost, when they need not, houses require maintaining, when they need not. Its not folks handing money to Turbine per se, although I would not be surprised to know that data mining has taken place to correlate character "wealth" against TP spend.
Can someone please help me. I played in 2007 and had this enginekid forum name. But I left the game and did not return until 2010. When I came back I installed the game and came to forums but I couldn't remember my forum info, so I setup a new forum account, calling it enginekid88. And now I have two forum account names. They are both linked to the same account so i can switch between them.
Anyway, the main account is this enginekid one, which is the one I am always using. And apparently it's not even allowed to have two accounts. So, the problem is that my enginekid account for some reason does not have the ability to ADD reputation. And it also does not have the ability to enter lotteries. Those functions have somehow been given to the enginekid88 account.
This is causing me so many problems! I don't even want to use the enginekid88 account, in fact I am not supposed to use it at all. But in order for me to enter lotteries I must switch to it. And this can cause me to forget to switch back, then mistakenly post on that account. Also, I want to be able to give people reputation but I cannot because only enginekid88 has that ability.
What I need is for the head forum MOD to please totally delete ENGINEKID88 forum account so that I only have the original enginekid account. Then will I be able to enter lotteries and use reputation on enginekid again?
Please will someone help me with this?
I have asked MODs in PM before but get no response. I don't understand why. This cause's me much grief here.
They are not linked to the same account. You are in the same situation I am. You have a Turbine account and password. Underneath your Turbine account you have two Lotro accounts - each one has their own forum handle. I have a third account - AC under my Turbine account.
In order to delete Enginekid88, you have to convince Turbine account management to delete the Lotro account that owns the Enginekid88 forum handle. Turibne does not delete accounts. There is no way to get rid of the Lotro account or the forum handle.
What you need to do is try an contact someone to fix Enginekid. Or figure out what the issue is. I do not understand why you can't enter the lotteries. Do you not have any characters in MyLotro: http://my.lotro.com/user-56040/
for this account? Did you add the lottery widget?
What happens when you try and visit MyLotro?
Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.

He's talking about a gold sink.
Having to pay twice for only one actual ride to another location means extra gold gets taken out of the system.
Funny way to look at it, and I know it was meant as a joke, but it actually DOES kinda make sense in a way.
Now if another "bug" is introduced to where repairs don't always work and you sometimes have to pay 2 or 3 times to get a successful repair then we'll know for sure that Turbine is introducing these to get rid of excess gold...and get rid of excess players, since I'm sure many have already left due to these bugs.

In the Hobbitech office, the insecure Peter Gibfoot hates his job and the abusive Division VP Bill Proudfoot that has just hired two consultants to downsize the company. His best friends are the software engineers Michael Underhill and Samir Nagheenanajar that also hate Hobbitech, and his next door neighbor Lawrence. His girlfriend Anne is cheating on him but she convinces Peter to visit the hypnotherapist Dr. Swanson. Peter tells how miserable his life is and Dr. Swanson hypnotizes him and he goes into a state of ecstasy. However, Dr. Swanson dies immediately after giving the hypnotic suggestion to Peter. He dates the waitress Joanna and changes his attitude in the company, being promoted by the consultants. When he discovers that Michael and Samir will be fired, they decide to plant a virus in the account system to embezzle fractions of silver in each financial operation into Peter's account. However Michael commits a mistake in the software and instead of decimals, they steal a large amount. The desperate trio tries to fix the problem or they will go to prison.
Travel doesn't always continue. Two nights ago I had one freeze at about mid-point between the start and the destination. I logged out three times but on each login, the horse did it's crazy dance and then stopped again. I finally gave up and rode the last half on my own steed.
In addition, with the excessively long load times which have begun since U6, logging out and back in quite often takes longer than just finishing the run on your own mount or even on foot. If the ride stalls close enough to the originating stable, why bother spending 5 minutes logging out and back in when you can just run back and start over, which usually then completes normally - and there's your gold sink. Regardless if you're spending copper, silver, or gold, anything programmed into the game to regularly pull game currency out of the economy is called a gold sink.

Maybe they should just remove the "riding away" animation until they managed to fix the issues. The "arrival and dismount" could stay the way they are (in 99% of the cases I had issues with the horse leaving from the stable master and not arriving)
Re: This is not a joke anymore. Fix the darn Stable Rides from Freezing!
It is a bit of a bother but is it really worth all the pent up emotion that a few of the posters seem to have over something that adds a few minutes of having to actively participate in what is going on. I too would like to see the bug fixed but it is not that bad compared to the bugs I have encountered in many games and sometimes even in middle earth. It doesn't prevent you from doing anything. Just my opinion

5 Minutes?
It's less than one minute. Do not close the client. Just logout the current char, which takes 25 seconds. And then log that char in again.

I deduce from the above that you also do not share the log log in times faced by large (overwhelming?) numbers of players. Log out is a few seconds, back in again, especially as this issue tends to happen in places like Galtrev or South Bree can take a disproportionate amount of time.
