I'm sure this question gets asked a lot but I didn't find a post that answered it for me.
I'm an experienced old school PnP AD&D player and DM (1st and 2nd edition) and have played DDO quite a bit. I wanted to check out LOTRO and would prefer a world that has a heavy focus on role playing. I live in the U.S. in the Pacific time zone.
If you're right into RP I would suggest either Landroval or Laurelin. Laurelin is RP enforced by GM's and Landroval is a little more laid back, so it depends on the level of RP you are into. I would suggest going into the forums for both those worlds and having a look at the communities, looking at the type of RP events, ect.
If you want a US time zone and lots of RP, your best choices are probably Crickhollow or Landroval. I can't say much about Crickhollow, but Landroval's RP community is quite strong.
I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend. ~ Faramir
