The Official "Congratulations Alditha" Friday morning Geek Day Coffee Thread!
Slamfist roars into the coffeehouse, "Wilson! A special day! Pull out all the stops! Roust all the chillas! A Glorious Day!" The chinchillas scramble through the coffeehouse, on sudden alert, squeaking to each other, curious and excited to see what has gotten their friend dwarf so excited!
Wilson pulls the special day menu from behind the counter and squeaks a query at the dwarf. "No Wilson, today we do not pick from a menu - today we want everything! Break it all out, double the kitchen staff. Today we expect guests and visitors - today we graduate Alditha - there may be a pack of hungry librarians descend on the coffeehouse! We must be ready! Have you seen how thin they tend to be? We need to put some meat on their bones!"
Wilson turns and begins directing the chinchilla staff - this is a glorious day! As glorious as he can remember - for today they celebrate Alditha and her graduation! The kitchen turns to a hive of activity as breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees all begin churning out. Dishes ranging from Belgian Waffles with fruit, cream and bacon, to barbecue duck... and wait, what... is that a geoduck going into the oven? Don't ask!
Truly, A Red Day! We are the Landrovalrhim! We read. Arise, arise Readers of Randirim! Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter! Gown shall be shaken, mortarboard be splintered, a book-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! Read now, read now! Read for graduation … and a new world’s beginning! Books! Books! Forth Landrovalrhim!
oh, and a nice cake too if you please Wilson!
So with that, may I offer my sincere congratulations to Alditha today. We've had a few recent grads. I am equally proud of all of you. Alditha - you've worked so hard and I hope you really enjoy today. And to top it off it's also Geek Pride Day, Towel Day (saluting Douglas Adams) and Glorious 25 May (in honour of Terry Pratchett!). Truly a Red Day!

Just a quick post for now so that I may offer a very hearty congratulations to Alditha! I hope you enjoy today thoroughly.
I have made the perilous trek on I-10 safely yet once again, so let the lazy weekend commence!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Congrats again, Alditha! All of your hard work deserves reward.

T-shirt update - I am waiting on only a few people to send payment, and I know one should be forthcoming today. If you haven't sent yours yet, please do. I would *love* to order this weekend and I don't have to be home to do so. (Let's hear it for webmail and cloud storage!)

I'm back!
Apparently changing my password was the magic needed to grant me access to the forums. My wonder at the technological efficiency that these forums provide grows by the day.......
Congrats Alditha!
Doc, do you know anything about the Teutonic Order? I think I might study up on them.
Re: The Official "Congratulations Alditha" Friday morning Geek Day Coffee Thread!
Howdy allez! We just got home (it's about 23:00 here locally) for the first time since we left early this morning. There's been lots and lots of running about all day long and a party or two. Pictures were taken, gifts were given, and much cake was consumed. Perhaps a bit too much cake but none the less. Everything went off without a hitch. Alditha's too tuckered out to come to the keyboard just now but I read Slammie's epic opening to her (with funny voices even) and I believe the response could be described as "giddy".
We're hitting the hay now and will spend tomorrow morning on the road. I'm not sure if we'll be able to make it to the meet up or not but I've got it on my calendar so I can stay aware of it. Ya'll have a grand one!

Forgot to say GRATS ALDITHA!!!!! what a great accomplishment.
I am actually posting while in a plane on my way to San Diego. I love technology. Almost makes me wish I could play. But I am just using my little netbook. It doesn't have the umph to game. BUT I can come here.
BTW is anyone still playing SWTOR? I have toons on Shien but didn't know if that is where folks are at or if there are any guilds y'all are in. I do believe Band of Hope is there as well as a few other Landrovalim (did I say that right?)

Rhyssa;
I have a toon on Shien - Slamsolo, and so does Slamboy, he has Baddawg.
We're redoing our deck - - a friend's coming on Monday to rip it out. We got the rubbish/construction bin dropped off in our driveway this morning and have been busily filling it up. I'm amazed at how much true garbage has been sitting around the house, masquerading as something that we might re-use one day. Junk it all!!!! Then drink all the coffee!!!
Hey, I guess the Friday thread has morphed into the Weekend thread, eh? Well that's okay. I hope to meet up at 5 pm PDT if I can!
Re: The Official "Congratulations Alditha" Friday morning Geek Day Coffee Thread!
Anarionadama - my apologies. I had every intention of joining up with you guys, but this cleanup day at the house took on epic proportions - everything from disposing of old tires, to old carpet to kids toy - major clean up of our garage and our "junk room" - Even now, not completely done, but tuckered out for the day.
Re: The Official "Congratulations Alditha" Friday morning Geek Day Coffee Thread!
The Leaf and Bean Kinhouse has always been open to everyone. I think there is only one chest that had stuff that only kin members could access. I had previously stocked the other chests with food and drink that anyone can use.
Many folks contributed to the decorations around the Kinhouse. Delaney, Lester/Phalse and Garaf at the 3 main that come to mind along with several folks that have journeyed farther afield and not have been seen for a while.
Wish I could have been there. But having a lovely time with the grandkids. I will try to make the next one, and goodness I do need to take better care of the Kinhouse anyone with an alt/toon in Leaf and Bean should be an office and admin for the kinhouse
