    Expansions and Quests

Hey all I started playing LOTRO back in 07, but had to take a break for the last few years due to military duties. I'm getting back into it now and I have few questions. I currently still own the disks for Shadows of Angmar and am considered a Premium Player. My first question is if I turn into a VIP member do I still have to buy Mines of Moria and the other expansions or are those automatically given to me? I guess the best way to put it is, how can I get full game access/content the easiest way possible? Thanks for your help!

Yes, you have to buy Moria, Mirkwood, and Isengard if you have not already

Ered Luin, Bree, Shire, and Lone Lands are free to all

Going VIP rents all other areas
A spaceship from another star / They ask me where all the people are
I tell them I'm the only one / There was a war, but I must have won

Okay, so if I buy those expansions then I automatically get the areas and quests, but I can remain as a Premium player though right?

Not sure what you are asking. You are permanently Premium. You do NOT have to subscribe (aka go VIP) to apply an expansion to your account.

    Re: Expansions and Quests

The Isengard legendary expansion includes the quest packs for Moria and Mirkwood. And, it's half off right now ($25).

You can buy the Great River quest pack with the TP included in the pack. You can buy the other features (such as new classes) associated with Moria and Mirkwood separately, if desired.

I'm sure many people would like to do that, but you can't buy a Lifetime subscription anymore. They stopped offering it nearly 2 years ago.

You have the choice to play either way you prefer.

If you prefer the old method of paying a monthly subscription, that will open up all NON-expansion areas to you for questing....just like back in '07.

If you prefer to play and pay as you go, there is the Premium model (in your case since you have a former non-subscribed account (my assumption based on your 1st post)). Basically you play through the "Free" areas (Ered Luin, Shire, Bree-lands, Lone-lands + Path of the Fellowship quests) earning some TP as you go. Then you buy quest locked areas with TP to perma unlock them (N.Downs, Evendim, Angmar, Trollshaws, Misty Mts., Forechel, Eregion, Enedwaith, Loth Lorien, Mirkwood, Great River, **Moria, **Isengard).
(**available as Expansions as well with some added benefits)

When you unlock zones from a Premium account, those zones remained perma unlocked for all your characters/servers on that account. No further repurchase will be necessary no matter what status you switch your account to (VIP or Premium).

When you subscribe monthly, your account is VIP and you have free access to the original zones from the original game release of Shadows of Angmar but you are only renting access to those zones via your monthly sub. They are not perma unlocked and should you revert to Premium, those areas would lock up again for any quests not in progress. VIP also recieves a 500TP stipend per month while they are VIP.

Expansion pack areas still have to be purchased by any account except for Epic Storyline quests. Any Expansion packs purchased by whatever method past or present will perma unlock those regions.

You can also read more about what happens in what situation with regard to being VIP/Premium/Free at this forum post:
    http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...-account-types

    Hope it helps.
