Thread: Lore-Master pet names: Lore-abiding and otherwise

I was sitting in Galtrev yesterday, doing my usual pet cycle (don't worry, i moved to the upper parts to try and lower lag.) and I suddenly thought: "I wonder what popular names there are for each pet?"
So, here are the ones i have:
Raven - Unnamed as of yet
Bear - Bodger, because it sounds..... bear-like
Lynx - Felix, because well.... its a Cat
Sabretooth - Frosty, because of the obvious reasons
Eagle - Gwithrin, because it seems to be a fairly Eagle sounding name (Gwaihir springs to mine, sorry for spelling if its wrong)
Bog-lurker - Slinky, for no other reason than i like the sound of it
Spirit of nature - Ghostie, since its rather.... ghost-like
Hare - Hopper
Snake - Slizzer
Dog - Mim (he reminds me of the petty dwarf in The Children of Hurin)

well, those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head, and i'll update this if i have missed any. Lets see what you all call your pets now

Spotted Lynx - SoftStep (to go with my LM's name - Thurinphifnirol Swiftfoot)

Bog-Lurker - PurplePowerRanger (which I'll probably change)
Light - Klindom (possibly)

also, my non-combat pets:
Rabbit - Wabbit
Turtle - Hasty

Raven - Ramálos
Bear - Baranuc
Lynx - Can't remember, never use it.
Eagle - Orinthir

Fox - Coriakyn
Cat - Crimper

I named my raven "ImWithStupid" and that seems to be well-liked by other players.

Bear (Cup) - SupaLyc - names after a Kinnie of mine (Lycoriel aka SupaLyc) - Hunter who always pulls aggro in raids (we love u Lyc)

So when i need the Bear Force taunt i thought of him.

Rest I do not use that ofter but - Eagle - Fawkes - I will definitely name my Eagle that way - Thanks Silver ...

Raven - RoastedEagle
Eagle - Ishallah or Turkey (if it gets in the way and people complain I change the name)

Since the only pets I use with any regularity are the Raven, the Eagle, and the Spirit...

Raven - Cleitefola
Eagle - Turkina
Spirit Animal - Silver[insert] (e.g. the Spirit Raven is Silverwing, the Spirit Bear is Silverpaw, the Spirit Sabertooth is Silverfang, the Spirit Boar is Silvertusk, etc.)

I use a variety of pets and skins depending on my outfits

Raven(default) - Duath
Raven (Blood) - Sereg
Raven (Frost) - Nephredil

Bear(Default) - Tawar
Bear(Black) - Morgul
Bear(cub) - Heleg
Bear(polar) - Heleg

Lynx(Default) - Dolen
Lynx(Tundra) - Hithui
Lynx(Oynx) - Guruthos

Rabbit - Hazel

all my combat pets have sindarin words for their names, my rabbit's name is from Watership Down

My character names are lore-appropriate, i.e., my Loremaster is Eohan. For his regular combat pets, I have a Bjork theme:

• Raven - Isobel
• Bear - Joga
• Lynx - Vespertine
• Eagle - Volta
• Sabercat - Frosti
• Bog Lurker - Medulla

I haven't gotten to Spirits of Nature yet. For spirit forms of existing combat pet types, I'll use those names. I've always thought of my "pets" as being nature spirits that manifest or inhabit normal members of their species. So, for unique spirits, here's what I think I'll go with:

• Spirit of Nature - Aurora
• Spirit Boar - Cvalda
• Spirit Auroch - Selma

My mounts share the same name and continue in the Bjork theme:

• Horse (mount) - Wanderlust

For the non-combat pets, I only have a handful of them so far; it's cartoon characters and muppets. Here's what I think I'll go with for all of them:

• Bird - Tweetie
• Dog - Ren
• Cat - Stimpy
• Fox - Shippo
• Frog - Kermit
• Rabbit - Bugs
• Snake - Sammy
• Squirrel - Rocky
• Turtle - Cecil

Raven: Gilborn
Bear: the default wildpaw is Paddington, tundra cub is Ursaminor, polar bear is Uilosgurth
Lynx: Dingurth
Eagle: Aiwengurth
Sabretooth, can only recall the Artic one as Sulringurth
Bog Guardian: Loegurth

I so rarely pull out the non combat pets I forget most of the names, Cat is Bast, Turtle is Speedy.

I have a raven named Foop on Emira. Why? It was a little person I drew when I was younger.

My friend, Raennar, has his mottled raven named "FloopyFlopper" after his floppy dog, Amos. The white one's name is "Steve" for some unknown reason, and the normal one's name is "Tony".

When you reach L29, go pay a visit to Radagast. He gives you a chain of quests that results in you getting the ability to get cosmetic pets, and a Rabbit.

my other named are random but

lynx- sunnyD because he does the msot damage(most sugar in orange drink)
eagle-RedBullwithWings because he perks me right back up(eagle rezz)

The pet you'll see me using 90% of the time:

Nature spirit: Avernus
Lynx: Chase
Eagle: Avarus
Bear: Kelsier
Spirit bear: Julius

I'm on my third Loremaster and I've finally found names I like:

Frost Raven - Astior (Sindarin for "Dust of the Ancient")
Bear (default) - Bumblebull
Onyx Linx - Nacht (German for "Night")
Dusky Sabercat - Abraham
Spirit of the Sabercat - Lace
Eagle - Sulurnil (Sindarin for "Wind Prince")

All my pets are and will be named "Harrie".

Bear is Bart
Bog is Cthulhu

Bog Lurker = Stumpy
Raven = Poe

don't remember what the rest were atm...

I try to make the names from Elvish words except for my lynx which is named for the Queen of the Valar, Varda Elentari.

my pets' names are not as creative however, common pet names in Japan except for 2 :P

Raven = Kurochan (black-chan)
Blood raven = Kurenai (crimson)
Frost raven = Shirochan (white-chan)
Bear = Chorvaburr (whateva-bear)
Polar bear = Yukkumakun (snowbear-kun)
Lynx = kittypoo (because I haven't used it yet)

mine are a mix of serious names and funny names.

Spirit Raven: Ravenous
dog:Puppy (whenever things don't go as I like I summon him and threaten to slap a puppy )
bog-lurker: Veenmos (dutch for bogmoss)
Eagle: Eddy ( for those who don't know this olympic legend)
