Thread: What Happened?!!!

Hi Everyone

I used to be play on LotRo a few years ago but had to stop because of various reasons, getting married and computer breaking just to name two.

I'm about to buy a new computer and am looking to come back online

My question is though, WHAT HAPPENED? Didn't there used to be european forums? Does that mean when I install the game my character may be somewhere else on a different server?

To cut a long question short. TO come back to LotRo have I only got to download the game and install it, subscribe through my turbine account and sign in just as before and everything will be as I left it???

Any quick replies to say Hi will be greatly appreciated

Codemasters are gone, only turbine runs the game now. If you did not migrate last year your account is wiped.

I can't remember if I was online before or after all that... I've got a turbine account already in existance it seems so we'll see ... perhaps a fresh start may be on the cards after all

One other question, the last time I was on LOTRO the forums were split between North American and European forums the same with the in game servers, EU and American.

I notice the forums are all one now, is that the same in the game, is there just one Snowbourn server now??

Yes, there is only one server. All of them got migrated to the US (this might explain something regarding connectivity time and lag).

ok, I thought as much, I'm not in the game yet, got a new computer coming next week, and dont want to install it on my laptop so I'll wait.

But I'm guessing from your comment, that there's lag problems and connectivity problems

For some people, yes. For most people, no. For you, there's a higher chance, because the servers are physically further away now.

Hopefully with the next updates they will fix the bugs and lag issues, as the game is awesome and would be a shame to ruin it.
