Re: Rescent OOC debate about RP and other problems
Thing is that as long as RP is limited to "pockets" and behind closed doors, even though its still alive and kicking, people will still think its dead.
There has been an effort to make rp more server wide. Those interested can pm me for more details or await for the proper post.

A good idea to promote rp in the server and breathe RP into Laurelin would be to have the kins (some or most of them) participate in common scenarios. Im not talking about some kins following the scenario of one. Im talking about a number of kins following the lore in a steady pace, allowing the participants to shape the story as the RP proceeds, reaching certain milestones.
I understand there might be "conflicts" between kins about lore, etc, but the point would be to further inter-guild interractions beyond tavern rp. And in the final analysis if we want this RP server to become RP again we will have to create RP opportunities. Asking for GMs to respond to tickets and other suggestions -which have little hope of being implemented (not that they are bad ideas tbh)- will not work.
So I wonder how many of you (guilds or individuals) would be willing to participate in such an endeavor?
Kins have every right to lock themselves in a specific area if thats more loreish in their eyes. They are doing it for a nobler reason than 0% Lore / 100% RP people since they are at least showing some common courtesy to follow what remained of a Tolkien sense after Turbine infused such disastrous things into the universe. Lore abiders have nothing else to lock themselves up in enclaves such as Rivendell and Falathlorn and bless they do it. At least someone is playing their role in the manner of Tolkien himself would.
If anyone to promote RP in Laurelin should do that in the given frames of lore or not at all. The best result otherwise would be PP (No offense to Cym, without her it would be a worse result).
You know they are doing quality Game of Thrones roleplay in Eldar server too. Whats the difference anyways? If all is for the sake of RP.

Perhaps I was not clear enough. When I talked about bringing RP outside into the open world I meant Middle Earth RP, not fantasy RP in general. I took that for granted.

Such a scenario has indeed been mounted before, and I would concur that the format of open participation proved to be a great success in creating something special - certainly 'beyond tavern rp'!
