Thread: Max survival hunter + blue line PVMP combo

so i saw a hunter walking around yesterday with around 10k health unbuffed and, post inspection, 50% tact mit. i ask him what in the minstrels name he was doing. he claimed that blue line build + barbed hinder/ track was an effective way to not get killed at times and yet earn decent ren/comms.

he had some pretty melee proc mainhand and a build that was what looked like 4 entrapment moors set and 2 old moors set ( shoulders and i think chest of the old set).

he said he hit fleetness + precision stance and kited around/ used barb-scourge combo while his focus built up. he then would proceed to use pen shot whenever it was up. i think he had the low cut slow removal relics (or would assume).


personally i think this is only wishful thinking or, at most, a good build to be in as a "hunter bait tank" while others smash the creep to bits.

Lol. Just reading that I bet their agility sucks. Means little renown for him. Sure they'll stay alive a bit longer but not long enough to get efficient renown from doing damage.

Edit: Sure it may be effective for kiting and slows and stuff. but as i said, they wont be doing much harm to the creeps, especially if they have audacity.

Offhand. Mainhand is your Legendary weapon.

Maximum tactical mitigation on medium armour is 40%.


All this hunter does is stack vitality, likely in place of agility. I'm sure he likely still maintains about 1400 agility if he plays a lot which means his damage isn't pitiful. His style of play isn't uncommmon either, many hunter's 1v1 the same way but don't stack as much vitality. It is a viable playstyle however, unless you have full audacity and play conservatively it won't work for you.

Meh. I've seen hunters do this on my server and they last MAYBE five seconds longer than me in fights, while doing far less damage.

Might be useful roaming around on your own to escape, but in raid v raid, it'll just limit your DPS and less targets will drop, IMO.

ive done this exact thing i just dont go that far anymore when running around solo, ill do 9.2k morale unbuff and i think ill get 42 tact mits and phys mastery just over 20k and crit is about 7.5k i think.. ill run the same traits as above and ya its ok but unfortunately your still kinda of at the mercy of chance when it comes to kiting... i also atm have both imunnity relics..

but in a raid or im feeling kinda safe its all out dps an farron...
