first mistake, but not that bad, so really not a mistake.
I thought by purchasing another milestone, I can now have two times within a hour I can get somewhere quicker. But when I use one, the other gets the same timer, guess you can only have one milestone, the extra just gives you another location.
Second mistake was a misread and understanding the recipe I got, it's the one for bulk. what a waste of gaining experience in the craft, instead of gettng 200 points gained by one at a time the bulk only gives fifty for the same amount, just quicker for 25% of the craft xp , I want to remove that recipe, and a do over on my smelting.
I really don't like learning my lessons that way
You can purchse a reduction in the shared cooldown to 30 minutes. All my new chars get a second milestone and 30 minute CD, makes levelling a bit quicker.
Smelting is one of the skills needed to provide other skills with materials. If you think that later, you would be smelting for 0 exp because you're maxed, this delayed your leveling in smelting by a bit. You will make it up later.... probably wishing you didn't have to.
You won't regret the second milestone. Having two is very useful as you can have one set to a larger town/city with all the resources you need (crafting facilities, AH, trainers, bard, Forge/Relic Masters, crafting guild) and another set to whatever quest hub you're currently working on. It can be annoying to milestone back to, say, Thorin's Hall to clear your bags, buy new skills and gear, change traits around, etc., then have too wait a while for the cooldown to come back up to go to your quest hub, but that's where the 30 minute timer becomes really useful.
The extra milestone and cooldown are really nice even at the level cap, as there are areas that are pretty annoying to get to otherwise (like the Ox-Clan camp, where you barter for the level 75 raid armor pieces, which has no stable and otherwise you have to manually ride your horse there every time or hope someone can summon you).

^----- Ditto. My main has 3 milestones plus the other travels. So much easier when a Kin yells for help or I need to get to a spot that is not a main travel spot. Try getting to Aughaire or Thorenhad real quick...... not.
Used to show a pic... Seems to be broken links now. Good Ole Turbine.
I don't regret the extra milestone, I do regret getting the bulk recipe. but it's kinda one of those things later I may appreciate, just at the moment I'm trying to level up
the reason for getting the extra milestone was there is no Vault in Lone-Lands, and I didn't care for the long ride back. What I didn't know, was you can only use one milestone per hour, well unless you purchase the quicker cooldown, then one per 30 minutes. The extra milestone really wasn't a mistake, just part of it was a misunderstanding.
But that bulk recipe was a mistake ,due to misunderstanding. I can see it working out better for me after I no longer need the xp to advance. I'm not too upset about it, even before I used it I did realize it was going to be less xp earned, but I did it anyways to confirm, it was quite literally one of those "don't touch it, it's going to burn, and you touch it any way" Moments.
So you all may be right, it may not been a mistake, but just had a upsetting moment ( the loss of 150 needed xp gain), I'm sure there will still be Ore Nodes out there when I get back in the game , it's not the end of the world.
As for the extra milestone, it wasn't as bad as I may had lead you all to believe , I still have the one for Kin-house.
I'll learn to live with the cooldown, have other obligations to purchase before getting that, today or last night was my last VIP play day

This is called "Hurried Traveler" and I also got it for my characters.
I was just peeking in the lotro wiki , and the wardens (the character I purchased the extra milestone for) first travel skill he gets happens to be to the location I bought the extra milestone to be used for LOL
which is cool, then I can use that milestone for Esteldin, till he gets that one (which will be the next one he earns)

I wouldn't feel too bad about the milestone thing. I did the exact same thing when I was lower level. Still, two is nice to have for my non-hunter characters. I leave one milestone set to 21st Hall in Moria, and use the other one for when I'm leveling.
The recipe thing is a bummer, but live and learn I guess. You're going to be doing a ton of resource gathering in the game, so in the end you'll forget this ever happened. Good luck with your crafting and hope you have fun with the game!
Unless things have changed, you don't have to use the bulk smelting recipe, and later on, if you have alts you craft for, you may be very grateful to do 25 or 50 ores at a click.
Two milestones can be useful, more useful still for you when you get kindred with Bree, Eglain, a few other factions, your racial port - those are all on separate cooldowns, as are your personal house port and your kin house port. Those are on an hour CD each, but when you have a few of them it can go a long way if you need to get back to civilisation relatively quickly.
