Unable to subscribe... Can anyone confirm the steps for getting support to help me?

    Hi!

So, I wanted to return to my Warden and finish some outstanding things I had on my main (and hopefully level past 40 for once), when I decided I wanted to resubscribe for a month for my birthday.

My issue is that I live in the Philippines and both my card and Paypal account keep getting errors when I try to subscribe for a month (meaning VIP access, I believe). Prior to the F2P switch, I was able to sub too much trouble, as far as I remember, so I figured there was some sort of system in place to help folks who might be getting errors. After reading up on the stickies, I noticed the thread on International cards ( http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...national-Cards )

Can anyone confirm that the following applies to the situation of a one-month subscription?

Below is from the linked thread above --

"If you're able to add your credit card to the website, but the Turbine Store won't let you buy points, we are happy to help.
You can call, or if you already have a card on file then you can email and request the points purchase. If you email, please include:
-username of the account you want the purchase and points on
-the last 4 (digits, I'm assuming) of the credit card
    -the card holder's name
    -the address on file
-the number of points you want to buy
-the amount you are agreeing to spend"

    Thank you.

That's close. What you want to do is use the information in my signature to contact the Account Management team. If your credit card is already on the account, you can use the web form to send them a ticket. Just include how much VIP time you want, and if you want a recurring subscription or not. I believe ticket time for the Account Team is a business day or two.

If it is a different credit card you want to apply to your account, you will want to give them a call. Again, the information is in my signature. Do Not send your credit card information through email as it is not a secure method of transferring information.

Once you contact them, they will be happy to assist you

    hi!

    Thanks for the reply.

I sent an email to them yesterday and got a response (and VIP access) while I was sleeping, so I'm good to go. I think the weird thing is I'll have to do this every time I want to make a sub.

I specifically asked for one month of game time only, so I should be alright though, correct? If it says pending cancellation on my account page, then I don't have to worry about another charge in a month's time, right?

That's correct, if it says Pending Cancellation, that's what you want to see if you only want 1 month of VIP access for now. That means on the next billing date, it will become a free Premium account instead of automatically renewing.

I'd keep the Support Website handy. It will probably be the easiest way to get your VIP started for a fixed amount of time. You may also want to ask them if they can see why you can't do it through the Account Management website. You may also want to check with your bank to see what they say also. Just mention you are working with Turbine, and they may be able to shed some light on it.

    Heyo,

I remember an old DDO email I sent in about the same issue. I think it's that one-dollar or zero dollar charge thing that throws my card into a frenzy.

If it's okay to fax information and it's cheaper, I can try to do that later on if I want to make a one year or six month subscription (which is extremely tempting at the moment) using my other credit card.

What about Paypal? If I have issues getting that to work, you can't change my payment mode that way?

    Have you read:

the sticky on how to buy a subscription to Lotro?

There appears to be a long involved process to make it happen.

    Heyo!

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually tried it thrice, and there was a pre-approval email from paypal, but when I tried to complete the transaction for a sub, it would always come up with errors like the one used to sub using a card. If I can use Paypal to buy sub time, I'd have a much easier time, but if the change from card to paypal can't be done through fax or phone or email, I'm okay with the card being used.
