My champ has a different setup: he runs with 5 pieces of the tanking armor and one piece of the dps armor. (He plays for a mix of survivability and dps, and I'm still working out a good balance of might/vitality/dps/tact mit.) I do this because it keeps his morale high (I like to run with 8.5-9.5k morale) and the five-piece bonus is good.

Tank and ferv set are both viable, aoe isn't.

Both of these setups are effective; I personally have both and swap them situationally.

The only thing I would add is also having the DPS boots to get the incoming heal% debuff on remorseless (I often click swap it just to autocrit someone when I'm running 4 DPS/2 Tank) although the loss of tact mits is significant and definitely not advisable to wear 100% of the time.

As a general rule for myself I prefer the tank set for 1v1s and the DPS set for roaming about and group play. However, this is definitely not always the case, as the purge is useless in some 1v1s and against lots of wargs/spiders when roaming/grouping the purge set can be amazing.

I use 2 2 and 2 with the shoulders boots from tank set. I do see the benefits to having the suit bonus from dps and tank suit to swap to, however its never really been a problem with me when out soloing. However Arkenstone doesnt really have a good soloing warg and we have very few good soloing spideys.

full dps set. that -25% to healing is pretty useful when engaging healers.

    Re: Champ Moors gear

How long does it take to get a full set (say, 4 dps and 2 tanking)?

    I'm an occasional player (one day a week- 5 to 6 hrs; 4 to 5 time a week - 2 hours.)

I do have the full set of Saruman Orthanc armour (along with my tiered up 2nd weapons and runes). I've haven't run much in the Moors (only ranked 5); but, am thinking of playing there much more since I've done all the instances (expect Saruman T2.) I've also only been out in the Moors once since the Isen update (all my time spent on raid, grinding for LL jewelry, Foundry/Roots T2, etc.)

Any suggestions/insight on how to optimally gear for the Moors (post Isen update)?

    Thank you..

I'm a bit more than casual player and was able to get it in about a month running the majority of the time solo and some group raids to take keeps. Only solo quests I did really were OP (which you can take solo if you have the Sarumon set) and Cleaning the Hoarwell. All other PvE quests I just accepted and turned in as I got the items from PvP stuff, killing Tyrants and Chieftans (lashes and seals), killing Lug guards, etc.

I got a lot of renown from just riding solo in a circle from HH up through slugs, over to the dwarf camp, down to Norbergs around TA and getting into a lot of fights against 1 or 2 creeps. You can check Avengingbananaslug to see how much renown I get per day on average playing about 4 hours a day, most of the time solo.

    Re: Champ Moors gear

Anything with Audacity will serve you better than pieces without it. That is my observation, and the intent of the developers for 'Moors play.

Finesse. I often parse at 90% or more "hits" even against ranked Creeps with delving pots. I have found that I need not crit at all to win so long as most of my hits land (in a fluid and constant skill rotation). A difference of even 5% translates into hundreds if not thousands of morale on my target. Anything below 80% often means an unfavorable 1v1 fight or cool-downs in other situations.

Tactical mitigation will buy you a few more seconds to eek out a few more hits at the end of a fight.

Crit... crit is fickle. I stack a lot, but I do not rely on critical hits. Crits save time and provide unexpected lol-moments. I watch Champs play the "cool-down and crit" lottery, hoping that the RNG bears fruit.

Your movement will determine your success more than most factors. Good movement means that you stay in melee range often enough to out-DPS your foe. Learn to anticipate and react with precision to their movement. Well played Shadow Wargs, and a handful of BAs, have the best chance to out-DPS you. The rest win by attrition.

    Re: Champ Moors gear

I'll keep this short and simple. I've spend days of comparing the stuff.

    1. The AoE leggings/boots were the easiest choise to make. They have actually very nice stats!
    2. The AoE Chest and gloves was a harder decision. But I think I made the right call here cause these pieces + the 4 set bonus allowed me to keep my ToO physical mastery level. Yes, I dig offence.

    3. I chose the single DPS head/shoulder cause I didnt like the 5 set bonus from the AoE set (I dont use storm of blades, I shing shing), and I preferred the ''offensive stats'' on the pieces. The 2 set bonus gave me 700 crit, which is nice, cause not wearing my ToO set would mean I'd lose out on crit rating. I also didn't like the more defensive stats on the tank set.

I prefer to play my champ beserker style, and those 7 audacity champs with a lousy 21k physical mastery just make me shiver. I do-not-want to be one of them. If you wanna live and do sjit damage, play a guardian :P

I use my ToO set + 1 aud piece when i'm in a full raid btw. More DPS ftw. My bubbles and other cool skills will allow me to survive long enough to inflict sick damage, and die gloriously as one of the last people standing. No need for safe play.

    Re: Champ Moors gear

    Depends on your playstyle...

If you are comfortable with playing champ in the moors and run in fervour, I recommend going with the DPS set. I run a full dps set just because I don't care much for extra mit. I am squishier but I can tear healers a new hole to breathe tru.

If not then stick with glory set and run around doing 1v1 if your server is that kind. But if every "creep" you encounter has a pocket healer and poops wargs on the fly then good luck killing anything in glory. (greenies don't count as "creep")

I run with a 3 set of the blue armor and a 3 set of the red armor, and I'm working toward a 5-piece of the yellow set for raiding.

Nice vid. Though I noticed the fights that involved healers weren't actually "healing". Seemed more like a group of unorganized creeps not to mention the plenty of low ranks (yes i know there's a few high ranks). Healers weren't actively healing, wargs were busy circling like sharks instead of attacking more often (giving you more time to get bubble off cd and bracing). Not trying to bash on those creeps but i've seen better. I understand your reasoning behind showing me the video, running glory, etc. since more often than not i am outnumbered just like that. Btw, I still recommend fervour mixed with some ninja skills you can pick off targets before they even know what hit them and keep pushing or get out before you get zerged. Good stuff.

well when healers actually heal i dont kill things which in turn does not make for good footage

i actually enjoyed fighting the zergs because i could freely pop cooldowns and play the class to its limits. i went for a while doing 1v1s and only was beat by a select few ppl (never pop cds in any 1v1s for the most part) but it was always a matter of "how far should i gimp myself to be fair". but any semi competent organized group could take me down fairly quickly.

lot of the footage was from before the update, but afterwards was worse (only ever got to 6 audacity before i couldn't enjoy it out there anymore). i would run fervour but i always felt like fervour left more to chance (i.e crits bpes etc) and less to skill.

my fraps folder grew to almost 200gbs which is why i stopped frapsing lol
