Angry Time to smash my comp?

Ok i have two comps in my house the one up stairs, and this one down stairs....
Never had a problem running lotro on either till the update. Now LAGG all the time from when i logg in to when i get fed up and leave the game, i have set all graphic options to the lowest setting to no avail

    Comp:
    Windows 7 home prem.
Processor: ADM Phenom 8450 Tripple Core (2.10ghz)
    Ram 4gb
    (windows is 64 bit)
Nvidia Ge Force 9100 (drivers are up to date)??
Any ideas how to trouble shoot this or fix the lag issues? I run BF, and other games on this thing with no issues?

1st suggestion would be to upgrade your RAM

64bit Win 7 is designed to work with 6gb or greater

Also make sure you turn OFF auto updates as this causes no end of lag
Make sure you clear out your cache on a regular basis

If you have the system for it, get yourself an SSD drive. Lotro plays significantly better on an SSD than on most common drives

You have enough RAM - more would surely help overall performance, but probably not the current problem.

Above all else, leave windows updates on, please. <face palm>. Windows updates happen on Tuesday, btw, so if you have bad lag on a tuesday it is a likely cause (but worth the pain).

It sounds like the update may have corrupted your data files, or fragmented them just a little too much, or something along those lines. Have you tried reinstalling the game completely?

Lag is usually a latency issue and may be related to your client/router/firewall/server throughput. Unfortunately, this is not always the easiest to diagnose and repair. However, there a few posts on the forums that I suggest you search up and read. First off, I would check the in-game latency monitor - Options panel, UI settings, Panels section, last item "Show connection status." Second, I would reboot the router and check your firewall settings.
Here's a link for general Firewall settings:

In addition, I would check on all the programs running while you're in-game (windows services), especially your anti-virus program. Disable the AV and the firewall briefly and run LOTRO to see if it's the culprit.

Lastly, you might want to consider upgrading your graphics card. The 9100 is an older card that shares memory with the motherboard. This can cause performance issues. Not saying that your card is unusable - just a suggestion for better game performance.

    Good luck,

    Fara

Save those downloaded files, so you won't have to redownload. You can start the installation from them. (Although it's not a bad idea to redownload fresh installation files every few months, to help shorten any post-reinstall patching.)

Also, don't forget to disable and remove Pandio Media Booster after your download completes and you get through the base install. Pandio is not necessary for running the game, just the initial download.

Have you checked the quality of your connection? It sounds like you are having excessive packet loss. Which is a fairly common issue if you are using wireless. Have a long haul with doors walls and other stuff. Or have an interference device in the path. Some cell phones will play havoc with wireless PC connections. A friend of mine got a microwave. Whenever the microwave is nuking stuff. No internet.
