Discussion: Account is downgraded ### Turbine/Lotro

So I have played LOTRO when it was released, was a subscriber before the f2p model was implemented. I decided to stop playing after a few months.

I decided to play again with a friend (he is a new player). I download everything and login with my old account. My username/password remained the same so I was happy. I have read before that being a former subscriber coming back to lotro will entitle you as a premium player. So once I went back to my old server (Snowbourn) my main character was deleted and it said i was a free player.

So I'm just wondering right now what the hell happened to my account. Why am I a free player and how did my main get deleted off the face of the earth.

Did you migrate your account last year when Codemasters gave up running the game? If you did not, then I'm afraid it is lost and you will have to start again. Migration was open for about 5 months and numerous emails were sent out reminding people to migrate.

At the end of the period the account data was deleted and it is no longer possible to migrate.

if you played lotro before f2p on snowbourn then you played previously on the EU servers and as mjk47 says above you must have migrated your account to the new global service run by turbine, the migration service was closed in november 2011.

if you did not migrate your account and you are missing your premium status and\or items from pre f2p and are still able to logon and play lotro then it sounds like you created a trial account with turbine before finaly moving to the EU service run by codemasters. you shoud be able to confirm this by logging on to your account at myaccount.turbine.com, you should see something similar to "lotro tiral" on your account

If you played on Snowbourn as a subscriber that would mean you were Codemasters customer up until the end of May, 2011. You would have needed to migrate your Codemasters account to a new Turbine account between June, 2011 and October 2011. Your migrated account have a creation date of June, 2011 or later.

The account associated with the Gaetano forum handle has a creation date of August, 2010. That date would be a Free Turbine account made to participate in the Turbine F2P open Beta. Many EU players on the Codemasters servers created a Free Turbine account either to play in the F2P beta or enjoy the new content because it wasn't available via the Codemasters service.

You need to find the Turbine account you used for the Codemasters migration. Or if you did not manually migrate your account during the migration period. You will have to start over.
