Forget TOR and GW2. For me, the LOTRO killer will be...

    Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

The hair on my arms stood up just a little when I heard about this. Okay, it won't really stop me from playing LOTRO. But my gaming time will definitely be divided now. Any other BG fans around here?

The Baldur's Gate games and, later, Champions of Norrath were extremely fun games. I will certainly check this out.

My apologies, since it looks like posting this was a breach of etiquette. I do play LOTRO and have no connection to the company remaking Baldur's Gate. I'm just really excited about it and thought there might be other fans in here too.

I hope this project does well. I love the character portraits. Are those also by Jason Manley, like Icewind Dale, or is that another artist? This will be very tempting, especially since my computer can't handle the new MMO's at the moment.

you don't have to apologise for posting about baldurs gate in the off topic forum. that troll who flamed you is out of line and you should hit report post on him and tell a Mod.

While they're at it ... can someone please buy Troika's rights, we can get a serious revamp of Tomb Of Elemental Horrors, & all the other Greyhawk mods that were supposed to come after it .....

O yea, a revamp & updating of Arcanum would be sweet, too

I played this! It was great fun.

You reminded me of the Tomb of Horrors in PnP D&D. God, that was brutal. 6 of us went in a 3 of us came out. Acererak was one bad dude. That entire module was just sadistic.

is that one where you would fall in death traps and stumble into a Demi-Lich's grave?

There is still a pretty active modding community for the original games around: http://www.gibberlings3.net/news/

    Well worth checking it out.

Though I´m more excited about this: http://www.shadowrun.com/
Shadowrun Returns has pretty much surprised everyone with making 1.8 Mill$ on Kickstarter.
This will allow the actual inventor of the game-system and world to crank out a pretty sweet product.

    Squeaky wheel gets the kick!

When they finish with the BG's, they have my approval to start on the Ice Wind Dale revamps! Those kept me up many a late night.

^^ This. And a pocket full of gold.

I think a few people here need to relax. I'm the biggest 'no advertising' guy on the block, but clearly that was not the poster's intent. The LOTRO Killer was tongue in cheek. Everyone knows other games don't kill off 5 year games. They only thing that kills a long term game is the game itselt... SWG I miss you... sniff... ah well.

    Back to the flu.

Last I saw, Atari was sitting on the BG franchise and clearly stated they intended to do absolutely nothing with the series.

The site you get to when looking for BG:E info has a few signs that make me wonder - lack of anti aliasing in certain fonts etc, that makes it look like a game mod (if not as smooth as most game mods for this game, much is super well designed).

    It simply looks odd.

I would not throw my money that way before release =)

I hope they remake Neverwinter Nights My GOD! I loved that game and all it's expansion modules ><

If it didn't look so bad now I'd play it to death! :')

Actually, revisited thread because it looked so odd:

Googled for the game name and the top result was not the same URL as the one in the opening post link. The one linked looks less homemade. The one I found via google made me write the above quoted
