Ever notice the type of crowd those games with flashy high graphics cutscenes appeals to?
"Because I'm sane, and I know I am because I'm constantly thinking 'don't be crazy' to myself. Crazy people don't do that because crazy people don't worry about becoming crazy"
Just slightly racist right? Really wasn't funny either...
Racist? Don't give actual liberals a bad name
"Because I'm sane, and I know I am because I'm constantly thinking 'don't be crazy' to myself. Crazy people don't do that because crazy people don't worry about becoming crazy"
I wouldn't say its racist, but it is in poor taste, but I must also confess that I smirked.
If I posted an image of Ronald Reagan on Pink Floyds The Wall with the statement "tear down this wall!!" would that be racist? Its damn funny, brb while I trademark that.
I not only can't see it as Racist, I can't even see it as disrespectful to MLK. There is nothing in the humor that attacks the original message, it's just a play on words and a visual pun.
I think asking a question such as "is this racist?" is up to a point, useful self inquiry from our community in the interest of keeping the mutually supportive, mostly friendly vibe we enjoy here.
After a point "political correctness" in itself stifles openness and communication.
I don't know, I have a great kinship.....probably the best on the server. So I doubt I will be going anywhere.
I wish the best luck to you all. Hopefully somewhere, at some game, you'll actually be happy with the people you play with.
Just remember that its not just the game your playing. The players make the game. The ball is always in the players court, its up to you on how you want to play it.
The rest is just hate mail, bull####, in-the-moment, or compensation.
I disagree Chief, at some point the game gets so effed up that even great friends aren't enough to keep you involved in it. I'm in a great kin and tribe, but most are playing other games, but luckily they are both regrouping for GW2, so why would I stay here?
I suggest you research GW2 before dismissing it as just another new game. ArenaNet seems to really care about PvP, maybe more than PvE.
Main attractions for LOTRO PvPers, no leveling required to PvP. You can PvP at birth in their version of open world PvP against 2 other servers, these will also change every 2 weeks based on the stats of each server. You are auto leveled to 80 with the same skills and gear that you joined with. So no, you don't have to level, but you'll preform better if you do, but you can level just by PvPing if you wish, just like Creeps in LOTRO. Or you can join the tournement style PvP, 1v1 on up to 10v10 IIRC. You are again auto leveled to 80, but you can choose every skill option for your class and get free gear to use while you're there, a great way to test builds. There's no open world PvP so you don't have to worry about getting ganked while questing, and the whole server works as a team in PvP so no PvP cross faction drama.
LOTRO was a great game, that time has passed, and unless a new company takes over this is how it will remain.

Yeah Spidey's right. I'm trying to keep active in SW:ToR but despite the fact I'm playing with several of my childhood friends that I've been hanging out with the past 20 years, I find myself only logging in to raid.

I'm on the same boat with Chief here. I'd not come back if there wasn't something missing. I've played with 100s of people throughout my years in LOTRO and there are still a few of those that I started with. Mixx, where are you!!!!
it seems everyone is counting on the 'Next' new MMO, GW2, to fulfill their expectations. at some point pick a game and stick with it. i think GW2 will keep peoples attention for a few months then return for a reunion. i might try it too for lols. but i mean if pvp is what your looking for i hear LOL is good.
i am very happy with TOR. it may not be perfect but the people i play with wil keep me entertained for as long as it last.
Like it has been said before, people play this game out of habit or because they have friends here, not out of enjoyment. If ToR hadn't screwed up open world PvP so bad I would still be playing it full time, I didn't miss this game at all. I hear LoL is good, but its structured PvP, I find that boring. What I like about GW2 is that the area you WvWvW in is massive. Plenty of room for soling, small group, and RvR.

It's become apparent that certain people need to stop telling everyone that they're going and just go.
Come with me miltymoo, I can show you how to have fun again~

I'd sooner make a come back in Aion than bet a single cent on NCsoft and GW2 actually being anything worthwhile in the long term.
I posted on the alternative LOTRO forums about my concerns with NCSoft and here's some quotes from people with personal experiences with that company.
NCSoft were involved with Guild Wars and I am happy with that game still. The game still operates on the same business model as it did at when I bought it at launch. Neither NCSoft nor ArenaNet have changes things and this a big part of why I trust them with Guild Wars 2. The only change that's being made to the business model is adding a store currency (gems) that's also available through a player-to-player market.

If anyone is to handle GW2, I am personally glad that it is NCSoft. I shudder to think of what the GW franchise would have become, had Blizzard, Cryptic or EA gotten their hands on it. Of the game companies whose games I have played, I have found NCSoft to be the most equitable and charitable.
To my post that my only interaction with NCSoft was through Aion.
Hadn't played that game. My experience with NCSoft as a publisher has been with City of Heroes (designed by Paragon Studios) and Guild Wars (designed by ArenaNet). Since the designer of Aion is different from the others, that tells me that NCSoft gives a wide berth to the designers. Compare that to Blizzard, who, with the advent of WoW, left Blizzard North and their Diablo franchise development to stagnate for about a decade. Or compare that to WB, who has micro-managed the profit area of their games, to the detriment of development and resources.

I'm willing to invest 60 bucks into GW2, thats far less than I bet on ToR or already shelled out to turbine. I understand your hesitation after Aion, that game was horrendous.

One bad apple does not a bad tree make. I have no experience with Aion but considering how long GW original has lasted I'm willing to bet it will.

Every company has their fan boys, so quotes are just an meaningless as information about an 8 year old game.
It's not like NCsoft has ruined EVERYTHING they've ever touched, so fair enough. I'm sticking with TOR (as my full time MMO) until TESO launches. If anyone can do "it" right it's the Bethesda/Mythic dynamic duo.
The single unique feature to TES is that it's basically an MMO where the endgame is solo-able, take that away and it's an MMO like any other. Everyone thought Bioware was pretty keen too, last I heard.

Sounds like some of you did your homework. I hope it pays off for ya.
Oh and Spidey, I never, ever dismissed GW2. I'm not sure why you even said I did.
I picked up Diablo 3 the other day, gonna play the single player because it looks fun. I'm also looking forward to checking out GW2, and see what it is all about. I might not have all the time in the world with it, but I'll go at my own pace. In the meantime, and in the foreseeable future, I'm happy right where I am........and probably will be during GW2. Unfortunately I don't have the man hours to invest time into two online games, so GW2 at any rate, will be turtle speed.
Sure I have my own issues with lotro pvp.....I don't like the current audacity system at all. Its an alt killer on live, and was quoted horribly wrong during the dev diary. Its not even close to what it could be, or was initially portrayed to be. Yet, even though I had my own reservations at the beginning...... in the end, it was the community I couldn't say no to, so I decided to stay with it. Only thing that has changed are some of the faces. Some are very cool, others are total (insert word) + bag. You might not even talk to half of them in any given day, but they're still there, doing their thing. And, I appreciate that. Even the + bags deserve a nod every once in a while......at least they are out there fighting.
You live one fight, you die the next, or you play a warg. Same thing with every game I'd imagine.
Oh and Spidey, I never, ever dismissed GW2. I'm not sure why you even said I did.
Ok, I got the impression the you were sticking it out in LOTRO until they pry your cold, dead, hands off the keyboard
GW2 is a game where you can take your time since you can PvP at birth. And yes, I am researching it a lot, after getting burned by ToR. The last update made the PvP even grindier than the moors, but with slightly better balance.
Nice seeing you out there on the LM. We should 1v1 sometime failioth style, loser deletes......oh wait, nvm..... Where is our broski anyways, I'm in need of a rhyme!!

Can't say your wrong there, I do like lotro. I've always liked the story. Just so happens that I like everyone I play with too. Can't go wrong there!
About that 1v1.......haven't done one in a while. I'm not that good at them, and by no means am I glutton for that type of gameplay. Falioth doesn't count as far as I'm concerned. He's never beat me 1v1, and most likely, he never will.
All in all I don't really 1v1 anymore, if it happens then it happens.....I'll just call that a solo fight I don't care about the stroke of the ego anymore. I play to have fun. I might die a lot, I might not. I still form small groups, and on very very very rare occasions...raids. That's pretty much it.
I'd love to play creep again, but they always have the numbers, and half of them run consistent slapfoot warg packs. I can't really blame him though. Easymode tends to gravitate torwards the most heavy object.
A bunch of new games are coming out which one will you be trying?
After getting bored with PvE grind I tried PvMP with f2p release end of last year. But now after LOTRO seemingly becoming like other PvE P2W games I’ve tried, it’s definitely GW2 for me too.
