I don't know what happened with the introduction of these new systems in pvmp
However, i have a r4, r5, r6, r6 creep stable, and i quit the game 2 yrs ago.
I come back to the game, when before i had all my creeps skilled and traited up, to find i have to buy a bunch of new skills, and this audacity?? with ZERO commendations in my account?
Just to get my creeps to the skills and defences they should have at their current ranks, i need over 140k Commendations.
What the hell is the incentive to come back to creep play for thiose who missed this ludicrous change in systems??
Im a lifetime VIP, but apparently thats irrelevant for the creep side of play for those who enjoyed it previously your making it impossible to enjoy it now after a break.
if you decide to hang in there you'll likely need to focus on one toon, though you can use the other toons to piddle away at commendation gains through quests, and OP flips
turbine's introduction of comms and audacity was supposed to drive more pvp - what it did was drive a lot of pve grind, for comms and everything they purhase
Creeps are leaving due to what the Ettenmoors has become and attraction to other games
Old Creeps can't come back due to the new grind
The Moors surely doesn't have a positive outlook. Hate to be negative, but it is tough to be anything else.

The commendation system is burdensome for old vet creeps still playing.
The commendation system introduces an even greater hurdle for new creeps.
The commendation system is burdensome for old vet freeps still playing.
The commendation system doesn't mean much for new freeps.
Overall, I gave an honest effort to find a positive that came out of the commendation system. I'm stumped. Its not a freep vs creep gripe. It provides no positive for either side. Well done Turbine.

The worst part about it is that it was completely unnecessary. The amount of destiny points you could earn while levelling made it easy to buy most if not all your skills on level. With commendations I only have the "bare necessities" on my Warg (Which I made right after u6) and r3 Audacity for my Reaver.
As others have said before me, if you do come back you will have to focus on one character. Commendations are a horrendous and @%$# near impossible grind for all your stuff on one character.
I honestly want DP back. It doesn't matter, because if they brought DP for currency back then F2P's wouldn't be able to buy their skills and the crying would ensue. The moors then would effectively become a VIP zone, but with F2P greenies running around unable to purchase their skills unless they use the store. All in all, Turbine destroyed the 'Moors more, a feat I didn't think possible.

I'll restrain from shooting by mouth off about this, but i am almost 100% positive f2p creeps could use DP to purchase skills.
Same boat as the OP, multiple R6-9 creeps, lifetime acct. Lotro was my filler game for the last couple years, I'd play when I had the time, or in-between other things. The good thing about being lifetime and mainly creepside was that I could come and go with no real pressure, just had to learn new skills, builds etc and get right back into the mix.
Now audacity has changed all that, my R9 reaver feels about as soft as a greenie. And they want me to grind out commendations to be competitive. I could understand doing that if there was a new map/zone/whatever to give creeps something to do while freeps leveled up, but THESE ARE THE SAME QUESTS I'VE DONE FOR 5 YEARS! I already have all my maps on multiple characters, over 500k DP still on the account, and you want me to go back and grind 5yr old content to be competitive on a map that hasn't changed? Give me a break.
I'd love to pop in and hang out with my old friends that still play, but I refuse to grind audacity ranks on the same map as before. Turbine needs to rethink their approach if they want to entice people to come back to the game after an update, this isn't the way to do it.

Frankly very little as a creep. Currently ranked creeps are not good $ sources for turbine. In the future (post the launch of the other game) I can imagine Turbine will intro some welcome back sales to encourage creeps to return that include some store purchases to boost players (audacity scrolls, or perhaps additional comms earning bonuses etc) --->effectively turning ranked creeps into $ sources again.

Generally like the concept of a PvP currency, I just think lotro's PvP is too small of a sandbox (especially creepside) for it to make much sense in this game(unless they drastically change some pricing). Lotro is a casual mmo, the moors in particular is very small, and hasn't really changed in 5 years, implementing this repeatable (seasons) grind doesn't seem a good fit.
1 positive freepside though (along with audacity armor) is that a viable (leaving out stat debates) armor set is available to freeps that doesnt require PvE raiding, especially with the removal of rank requirements.
The other pseudo "benefit" is that it encourages PvE in the moors. While this is also potentially negative, it does push people around the map (we're not all standing at stab/ec) and it keeps people on the map longer.
I agree though that in its current format, it does more harm then good - in particular on creepside (re: new (or returning) creep attraction/retention).
Just in reply to those who think turbine may be justifying it by any sort of sales pitch.
In the OP, i said i needed roughly 140k comms to get my creeps into working order as they used to be before i left the game.
126k of those comms, would be for all the audacity ranks im missing making my creeps basically paper, compared to the already incredible dps freeps throw out at present.
So for those who feel its market driven, and audacity/comms cant be bought with $$ why is about 90% of the comms i need to make me actually want to play creep, not available to buy??? LOL..... yeh very well thought out.

Only a matter of time before that happens. You should've noticed, Turbine isn't exactly efficient at what it does... anything it does really.

I'm of the opinion that creeps skill should be bought with a little coin, just like freep skills are. They should be a LOT cheaper too, as they're generally a LOT less powerful. If the balance(or lack thereof) is going to be the way it is, at least let creeps get their skills when they rank, without having to grind a million comms in addition to a million(or more)infamy. I guess the idea is to make creeps buy them in the store. Bleh, convenience my (insert unsavory body part here).

Your not the target market (at the moment). The vast vast majority of the creep player base are mid-low ranked. Before those players purchased nothing or possibly a couple high ranked skills in the store. Now with skill/trait pricing +audacity, they are being encouraged to purchase more low ranked skills/traits etc and horde comms for audacity. Creepside has a large churn rate, so anything that can encourage store visits early in a creeps life (before they quit) is a positive for Turbine.
I think it's a huge backfire for Turbine.
I'm on Brandywine and have never seen it so dead.
A system that was designed to force creeps to use the store, has instead forced them out of the moors.

Agreed^^^^. Logged on B last night for first time after U7- stayed a short time hoping that something had changed. Was disappointed once again and left. It took longer to DL the update than I stayed in the moors.
Cancelled VIP and going on to something else- I'd say where but my last post was deleted. I have two toons at Audacity L7- I'm not going to do that grind again "next season". The epic story quests are all that remain of interest to me without a major Moors fix. Will return for epic line for U8- maybe.
Good luck in restarting though- hopefully you'll have a better experience!

Did anyone who hasn't pre-purchased GW2 notice a decline in activity on the 25-27th of April and 14th of may? I bet you did.
But once GW2 is out, the moors will be almost empty. Even some of the freeps are tired of the PvP and are looking for something new.

I also quit playing creeps. 176,000 dp saved up for upgrading skills on 3 creeps, r7-9. Only played creeps on that server, so DP perks are useless on my freeps. And DP completely useless, essentially lost, on creeps. So much for working hard at the Turbine grindstone - this customer screwed by same company. Now having to start all over with squishy low-audacity creeps and only 110 commendations given for all the kills I had stored? What a sorry ripoff. It was a no-brainer: give up creep play. Obviously, Turbine doesn't want us to play creeps.
More recently, they've screwed up stats on my gear on my freeps. And no clue when all of it will be fixed, although they did fix some with 7.1. Now my next question is, "Do I keep paying them for this?"
Lot of Landy High Ranked creeps are in holding pattern waiting to leave. Lotro PVP is really a joke, and commendations are the bad punch line. I fear the moors will become a bit dead soon. Sure a new crop of FTP creep buyers will try it for a time, but with the imbalance in the moors, coupled with the burdensome comm system, most new creeps will not stay.

Something interesting would be if you could create a PvMP freep (only playable in the moors) and you could only play this kind of freeps in the moors. The n let freeps buy all their skills with Commendations as well as virtues/traits/whatnot.... would be interesting
hmmm..... This Audacity is kinda bull#### imo... hard to get back into the game when you're miles off getting anywhere close to the amount of commendations required. Also all map quests done 10 ranks ago... Yay, way to shoot yourself in the foot Turbine.
