Thread: Deep Descent Awaits - chain ends abruptly

In Silvertine Lodes, there are basically 3 questhubs (4 if you're counting Sori): Deep Descent, Miner Camp and in Old Silvertine City.

Completed every quest I've found and lastly I've received the 'Deep Descent Awaits' one, where finally you find the sign of True-Silver and you need to bring word to Deep Descent.

Turning in quest, and... well, that's it, the whole zone is cleared, no followup quests here. Is this really it? The whole run for finding mithril ends here, even, is he whole zone finished without any indication where shall I continue my journey?

The whole zone ended a bit suddenly, more so if we think about how after each questhub or zone we usually get not one but two or three quests that lead to the next hub.

The problem isn't that we don't get a quest leading us forward but the closure we didn't receive for this zone. At other zones, we usually get appreciated in last quest with NPCs rewarding us for our work with some larger rewards, simbolically suggesting that we're done here, we should get out. Here we didn't receive that, which I think it should be changed.

Also, two other things that's interesting or has the potential of a bug:
1. Found a guy south of Sori who needs escorting but I couldn't interact with it, I guess there's a quest somewhere for him too not starting from Silvertine.
2. The riddle stone in Silvertine. Could activate it, I guess we need to return there at some point?


How you guys see the abrupt ending of this zone?

Hmm. I went though it straight, Moria stayed linear until I hit the 21st hall, at which point things started to parallel out. From memory, deep descent sends you to chamber of crossroads when it is done, even provides a goat ride to move you onto the next bit, once done at the old city.

That riddle stone activated properly for me, it is the first of them.

Which loose dwarf do you mean? if it is swiena, that one is part of the epic line. If it is flik, recovery of flik comes either from the guys at the bottom of the stairs in the deep descent camp, or from the loose dwarf just outside gamil filik, who the guys in the main, bottom of stairs quest hub should have sent you to.

Finding the sliver of truesilver does end that 'digging' questline, but you SHOULD have been given a quest to report the find to the next dwarf in the chain.

Did you do any quests PRIOR to the revamp, which tell you to go to the next area?
I for example have hardly any quests in each revamped area because I already did most of them, after the Silvertine Lodes, your expected to go to Durins Way (if Your doing the EPIC's they sorta tell you where to go)

I've only done 3 Dolven-view quests in Moria before U7, I don't think that has something to do with the problem.
Beside the epic quest telling me to go to Chamber of Crossroads, I got another one in Silvertine (at the camp near Melem-belej, but that was right when I first arrived there, so that's not part of the storyline.

The escort-quest dwarf I was mentioned is indeed Swiena, so that's covered.

The Ore Samples questchain (4 ore samples) ended with "Deep Descent Awaits" and the lonely dwarf there sended me to Deep Descent on his goat to the leader to tell him about the mithril found. As I've mentioned, this is the last I got: went to DD, turned in, dwarf told me in its questlog dialogue that they will send units there.. and that's it. Question is whether this is intentional and the whole zone story ends with this, and whether there should be a directional quest which would send me to another zone.

Riddle got solved by founding a journal in first zone.
