Saving Sara Oakheart.... GROAN... SIGH... HISS... BOO

    Sara, Sara, Sara.....

I thought I was done with you and your off-and-running, aggro-grabbing, NPC-dying ways! Done! Done! I tell you!

But no, you had to be included in the Fornost revamp! You had to insert your cowering self into the new instance! And you had to be as squishy now at level 75 as you were at 36!

    Oh Sara........

P.S. Of course with any healer involved, her quest is easy. But we were messing around on T2 Fornost last night with just three of us - champ, warden, burg - not a good combination to keep a squishy NPC alive....

I'm really hoping its just another bug... but Sarah's friends ran on ahead and aggroed the mobs which turned them "grey" (i.e. our fellowship was 'tapping' them and we were not able to loot the bodies). This included the two twin bosses with her quest.

Okay, guys ... just remember, we may still have some players in this game who are actually new, not the latest alts of some L75, and that some people don't like spoilers. So watch it.

Ouch. Yeah I always hated seeing her when she'd rear her ugly little head out of no where... again! I don't recall but does Conviction effect quest NPCs? That would be the only way I could see healing her. Even then it would be kind of hard to keep her alive. Unless you had the Burg or Champ lead the NPC she is on away from the rest of them.

does the old trick of letting a capn/LM pet open the pens still work?

i used to clear the whole place BEFORE getting sara. cheating, yes? but look who im dealing with... sara is the biggest cheater in LOTRO. so, no guilt from my cheating butt!

ps- is she the only female dwarf in the game? i know she not really, but she does look like what id picture a female dwarf (minus the beard) to look like.

    Sara Oakheart >> Lalia.

You only have to save Lalia once. Sara shows up in the Elf/Dwarf prologue, Man prologue, Garth Agarwen, Fornost, and elsewhere. She also doesn't have the starry eyed hobbit lass excuse for her wandering around the map looking for places to get caught. I let Sara die on purpose sometimes (most of the the time). She deserves all of it.

Ugh. I forgot about Lalia. What a pain she was way back when I brought my characters through there. As the poster above me said though you only see her once. Then she's gone. Forever. Sara just doesn't leave you alone though. lol.

PS: I thought she was a Hobbit not a Dwarf? If that's who the poster up there was talking about.

I think they did a great job with Sara Oakheart. She appears to be a sweet old lady trying to help everyone out who gets in over her head and gets caught so you need to go in and save her. But each time you encounter her you wonder why she is at that location and your dislike of her grows each time. She has been making my life miserable since I was level 10 and I just knew long before it was reviled who she was that she had to be evil. I have much stronger feelings for her then for just about any villain in the game. The only one I can think of that I truely hate more is Saruman, he also does the hiding who he is trying to convince people he is their friend trick.

So in my book as anoying as Sara is she is a perfect villian, and I enjoy getting her killed time and time again.

Oh my goodness... The idiotic quest where you have to save her at around level 12, in the Blackwold cave... She walks sooooo slow! I hit stinking insert and I still walked twice as fast as her! I wish I could just be like "Yeah, see ya Granny, I have better things to do"

My first time playing through the game I always thought Sara Oakheart was Gandalf in disguise. I kept waiting for Gandalf to remove his disguise...

Taking Sara out of Fornost would be a "You Ruined It!" change.

She is the Middle Earth equivalent of Waldo. Sara one of the best designed NPCs in the game. Unlike like some of the other characters we interact with. It seems everyone forms a strong emotional reaction and relationship with Sara.

Well, the "real" Sarah Oakheart does fit that first impression you get of her. The climatic events in Volume 1 were some of the best storytelling I've seen in a MMO.

Yeah, like I said, we were just messing around. The instance is trivial with a full fellowship.

Nonetheless, I was just having fun with starting a thread about her. I agree with many of the posters.... the overall story surrounding her is fantastic, ironic, surprising, and woven nicely into the entire Volume I! But she is still so annoying!

At least she walks faster than Saruman!

All right... I snorted coffee out my nose! Thank you soooooooooooooo much for that! LOL

As for most escort quests... yeah... almost wish I could let them die... but I keep twitching with this weird feeling that somewhere... somewhere there is an explanation... I have done them all through Enedwaith... and there is no explanation... I haven't gotten RoI yet, so there is still hope... right? Please assure that there is hope and an explanation! When I came across Sara in Fornost I groaned and knew... KNEW! She was going to get me killed... she did...

(rocking in a fetal position) Please... please... someone tell me that it is okay and there is an explanation out there!

We should be given a deed to let her die 10 times. As the reward: 5 Turbine Points, and new title "Enemy of Sara Oakheart" :P
