Thread: Star Crystal drop locations

Did a random Saruman t1 few days ago, actyally totally forgot these crystals even exist but then one popped off the chest and I managed to win a roll.. still shocked.

So thats maybe 15-20 instances lvl 75 done for me since these crystals arrived.. ONE drop... Yeah good job Turbine

Got my second one in Draigoch last night.

BTW, demand for these is dropping. For the patient, they will come, no need to spend
TPs. Price on Meneldor AH for the level 75 type was about 300 gold when they first came out.
As of last night, they were starting at 90 or so, and the level 65 ones had dropped to the 15-20
range. I think this is a combination of people having enough and also folks coming to the
realization that beyond the first crystals don't do very much -- and for first ages, the first crystal
doesn't do much either.

Last week we pulled a -65 Crystal from a level 53, tier 1, 3-man School of Tham Mirdain run.

I think you need to look at them again. The increase is only negligible on first agers. Just one crystal on a 2nd or 3rd agers gives you comparable or more DPS increase than a full load of 7 stat tomes on your main stat. And that without any kind of negative side effects as you might get from swapping gear.

I dont really get why people are farming solo stuff for this. By now it is pretty clear that the droprate in solo skirms are pretty negligible. If I were inclined to farm them, I´d try soloing lvl 66 sch/libs. They have 3 chests. and are reasonable fast to do for any class.

My goal was farm up three of these. Here's what it took me:

88 tier 3 solo or duo skirmishes all run set at level 68. About 80 of these were Battle in the Tower for the consolation prize of decent coin.

0/23 tier 1 solo level 75 skirmishes (random skirm using advanced IF)
0/26 tier 2 solo level 75 skirmishes (random skirm using advanced IF)
1/44 tier 1 duo level 75 skirmishes (battle in the tower)
