Thread: Star Crystal drop locations

Can people please post their Star Crystal drop locations? Anyone have a handle on best
way (other than Visa or the AH) to acquire them?

I'll start:
0/7 on Tier 3 level 75 solo skirmishes...
0/1 Foundry T2

4/22 t1/t2 solo skirm (Tuck, Dannenglor, Bruinen, Methedras)
1/2 foundry t2
1 in Dannenglor raid skirm (T1 I think)
2 in Tuckborough raid skirm (T2)

1/1 Draigoch
1/1 Foundry t2
0/1 Fornost water wing t2
0/1 New scirm raid

Then I got bored (and didn't win the /roll on either of them)

I tried the new skirmish with all my 9 characters (T1 solo), and got one starlit crystal. So, 1/9 for me here.

1/1 roots
1/2 fornost wings
3/4 t2 12 man skirms

and i also had a couple kinnies see one drop in solo skirms.

0/4 Fornost lvl 66 (6 persons)

no luck so far.

1/1 Fornost T2 lvl 75, first Wing

No luck for me so far

0/1 L75 Skraid (new one - at least it's short though!)

bad start

Had one drop from Earth wing T1. Remember to update your lootrule, so that you can actually roll for the symbol... in my group one guy happily pocketed it and used it on his weapon before anyone could voice their opinion on the matter. I do think he was kind of inexperienced and didn't know better, but just to keep this from happening in the future. I know it's a known issue, but still.

(Lost track of how many visits to Fornost, but it wasn't 75 setting, so wasn't expecting anything. The Skirm Raid caught me off guard. I had pretty much not even thought about those crystals, til those appeared.)

Update: Added Another Draigoch run. Only 1 Star-lit crystal this time, and it ended up mine. (So close to scales, yet sooo far away. How much are these buggers worth? My current 2nd age isn't worth using it on.) Also saw a crystal or 2 during an Orthanc run, but I wasn't paying attention to how many, I was just excited to get to run it. (Getting some shiny teal jewellries also had me distracted. I'd be willing to bet that at least someone thought I rigged the dice that night.)

Would have liked to grab at least one considering how much time I put into it yesterday but I suppose that's the RNG at work.

Now 0/6 on t2 (Thievery and Mischief)
and 0/4 T3 lvl 68 (Thievery and Mischief)
and 0/4 T3 lvl 68 (Rescue at Naz...)

Update 2 (6/4/12):
1/1 T1 3-man lvl 68 (Thievery and Mischief)

None dropped in four wings of Fornost 75, the latter three on T2 (also no challenge chests appeared despite accomplishing some).

1/2 dropped in Sword-halls.

Got one in Storm of Methedras 6-man, Tier 1 last night.

Curious what they are selling for. How much did you get for yours? I only ran a couple of solo 3-mans yesterday but got nothing.

So far the AH has been the best resource, the ones for hundreds of gold aren't selling, the ones for tens of gold are.

Added it to second age emblem, tiny dps increse on my FA Greatsword not enticing enough.

Four GBs with no drops.

Horrible luck so far for this dwarf and his alts...been working the new skirm at lev75

Other than not getting a chance to roll on a crystal, the loot is really bad in this skirmish. The worse case, was when i finished my first t3 and recieved two scrolls from the witch corpse that can only be used in the skirmish.

Must be time to go back to older skirmishes, something is not right with the loot drops on this skirmish. Highest relic recieved is a t2. And the difference between t1 and t3 , loot/coin/drops wise is not worth talking about. All that happens is that mobs get more morale.

Alas. Well, at least I'm getting lots of marks/medallions....

Most of the replies haven't indicated what level the instances and skirmishes are being run at. Has it been confirmed that the crystals only drop in lvl 75 settings?

0/14 T3 Duo Skirmishes L75 (IF).

As we could probably run four or more solo t1 Strike Against D Solo skirmishes in the same amount of time it takes to run one T3 duo, I'd hate it if selecting the quickest solo t1 skirmishes skipping encounters will be the fastest way to obtain them for 1,2, 3-mans. I thought the whole re-design of the marks/medallions/IF was to prevent farming the same short instance over and over and over.

Crystals will drop in instanced spaces 50+, (50-65)=Max level 65, (66-75) max level 75

Don't stress about the loot rule, they can be traded, just like scales and burnt scrolls ect...
