My "return to Bree" skill now teleports me right outside the West Gate instead of in the cemetary ring across the river. Love it! Now I don't have to run as far to get back to Bree. (Yes, I am also that lazy IRL)
Well that's a nice change, at least.
Now, if only my Warden's "Muster in Galtrev" skill would actually make her appear in Galtrev instead of outside the south gate...

Some sounds have gotten quieter and some louder it seems, and a few of their categories (e.i. which slider controls them) changed as well.
I'm not sure if the sounds themselves changed. However, I noticed that "Sound Effects Volume" slider was set to maximum (1.00) after the update. I had it set to about 0.15 before, to keep it balanded with volume levels of Teamspeak, Spotify and other background stuff I'm using regularly during gaming.
You can only imagine the pain when I put the headset on and used the Piercing Cry on minstrel for the first time...
ARGH!
Thank god I didn't have s/pdif output selected, with that neat little amplifier and quality set of 5.1 speakers pushing out the sounds. If I had that output selected, I'd be filing a reclamation to Turbine at the moment - for all the paintings that were cracked as they dropped down from the walls throughout the house, for all the shattered windows, lamps and dishes, etc...
Annoying. Launch the game with your speakers at their previous settings, just when you've got the kids to bed and think of spending some time in game... I don't have kids, but I can imagine how annoying that would be. Volume settings should never reset on their own. Especially not to MAXIMUM value.

I noticed the "dancing" in lm staff too, but i believed was my graphics. My lm dissappear for 1 sec or 2 at randoms times in combat and you can only see the staff and maybe the book (depend of animation). One of my kinnies noticed it aswell. Im submitting the bug.
Besides, someone talked about crafted weapons losing critical and mastery. Not only that, weapons like the Dagger of the Great River (the one who gives you Agi), have lost its 300 morale. Hunters and burgs going to be sooooo happy of this...... .. .
A third thingie i didnt see in patch notes is the change to the warg skill Savage Fangs. it usually reduced the block rating of the target, now depends the stance it reduces parry or evade and reduces armour or increase inductions.

That's something that had been a very minor annoyance to me for 5 years...glad to see this change. I can see how it would be preferable to have different zoning-in points back when Bree was the center of everything, but those days are long past.
Work like no one is watching, dance like you don't need the money...
Very much agreed. I like RPing her as a pie-hog but she is a burg and needs to be agile. Like you say, the changes are badly proportioned. No wonder they didn't call attention to them. And what point does the change serve?
i agree my female hobit was well proportioned un till turbine shoved pies down her throat in update 7, please put her back the way i made her if i wanted a pie eating chapion i would have made one. Have you ever hered the saying dont fix what ain't broke

Now if we can get them to find a better spot for the return to Rivendell skill. Either in front of the house of Elrond or by the stable would be much better. In front of the guest houses is away from everything.
Taken today and a couple of weeks ago in Orthanc. I'm not sure I would have noticed if I hadn't seen the posts about this, but the arms and legs look different now.

I think the current location is the best choice. In front of the Homely House wouldn't really be any closer to the stables, and by the stables would be on the opposite side from the Homely House. You forgot the option to port next to the mailbox though.
So, the current location is quite a neat compromise; it's fairly equally far away from everything that Rivendell offers. :P

Was going to ask about this one myself, is this a bug or deliberate change ?
If it is deliberate then it is a serious boost to stealth classes in the moors as it makes it much harder to spot them
Not really, once you've beaten their stealth level and spotted them(they become visible to you), you can tab-target them. So you don't actually have to see them, as long as you see "You've spotted a creature trying to move about unseen" or whatever it says.

Yikes!
Why must Turbine keep messing with our beloved hobbits? With all the things they could have their modeling department work on, why mess up character models so much?
I might be slightly (extremely) late to the party here, but swan fountain and huge swan fountain are exchangeable at Stangard rep barterers now. Apologies if its me only just noticing an older change.

I wouldn't have minded more junk in the trunk on my hobbit but the spindly arms is what gets me its really bad on my burg I ll post a pic when I get home, but it is really creepy looking. it makes me sad because I just got her outfit just the way I like it
Did a little check on those hobbit size issues for females. Went and made a hobbit female, and if you slide the body type slider from one side to the other, just before you hit the far right the size will switch to match what it would be if you slid it to the very left.
So there you go, anyone who had the body type slider to the very right would of been affected, just a tiny bit to the left and you'd not notice a single thing.
Yep, just did the same thing to check, and it did exactly the same thing..... Female hobbit only.
In fact, if you use the arrows at the side of the slider, the size increase starts at the fourth "click" from the right end of the slider.....
I wish they didn't do that. Roof exploration was an extremely enjoyable activity. What the point of making game so much less fun? Not like roof access was ever breaking anything.
On a note of unmentioned updates, I've noticed that some female npc in Bree seem to have a wardrobe upgrade
A lot of the areas on rooftops lead to 'world holes', which if a player falls into might find themselves in an unrecoverable event, thus leading to you losing said character. I seriously doubt Turbine wants to deal with the overhead of people getting where they don't belong, finding things that 'shouldn't be found', and then finding that they've lost all of that work on their character.
This isn't because Turbine wants to remove 'fun things' from the world, but to protect themselves and you, the players, from things that were never meant to be done in the first place.
Akin this to exploits and you have reasons why things like this exist in the first place.

I used to go on rooftops quite often, sometimes along with friends, and there were never such events as you mentioned. The most we manage is to lock themselves in areas with no exits but milestones and ports worked out just fine. Do you ever actually meet anybody who lost a character due to rooftop exploration or is that just another spook?

Definitely better approach than fixing the bugs that cause such stuff :P
Many philosophical problems are caused by such things as the simple inability to shut up.

Have I personally experienced this? No. Have I met others in my travels that have found themselves in areas that they became completely stuck and falling infinitely? Yes. The issue arises in that it's not all that hard to corrupt a character file getting into areas that aren't meant to be in and when this happens, Turbine is either going to have to spend man-hours and dollars to restore the character or face the decrying of those that have lost said character to these events claiming that if it wasn't supposed to be there that there should be ways to stop players from doing it.
If you wish to play Russian Roulette with your character, feel free...honestly I'd prefer Turbine to make it that much more difficult for my character to not get corrupted.

That makes no sense...Turbine fixes things that shouldn't be happening (IE - rooftop running) and you're complaining about their approach and how it's not fixing the bugs that cause such issues?

Maybe not a major change but wargs have become a lot more difficult to see in steath. The new graphic makes us almost invisable even to ourselves, im just a floating name most of the time. I didnt see anything about this in the patch notes and dont understand the benifit of it, a bug perhaps?

wow, a flip from the "skinniest" option to the fattest. no wonder why it was so noticeable for some. that is a hilarious bug =D

Were those places in a direct way related to rooftops?

If you don't want to got to rooftops it is fine with me, but not everybody'd like to play in your style.
With new 'exploration' deeds in Dunland and Great River being spoon-fed (you can't miss them if you do quests), and current revamp of Moria there is a pattern of less exploration in the game. I'd rather not see last remnants of something unique like rooftops go away.
My female hobbit (burg, haven't checked minnie) seems to have gained a LOT of weight in the hips and nether-regions. She eats a lot of pie, but since last night? Not that much.
Um forgive me here, and some amount of discression may be needed, but has you hobbit been spending nights gazing longingly at certain other male-hobbits or "shudder" certain elves/men-folk/drawves.
Have you been keeping an eye on her at all times? I hesitate to remind you that just recently there was an extended festival that included some imbibing of drinks at Thorin's Hall. I sure hope you kept her in the Shire and didn't let here travel.
Maybe there is something she hasnt been telling you and it doesnt involve the eating of pie.
For those who are (and those who are not) seeing the Hobbit 'issue', make sure you report (if you recall) what size your Hobbit is. It's possible it may only be impacting one specific set of options. Thus why some may not see any change at all.
didn't notice it on my hobbit either, but i got curious. went to create a new character and selected hobbit. When you adjust the body type, it is all normal to right before you slide it all the way to the right. But, if you slide the slider completely to the right, the proportions are way thrown off. It's quite noticeable.

The rooftop exploit was never intended. In fact it is very dangerous to your character. If you should fall off the roof top in the wrong place at the wrong time you will lose your character and it will not be recoverable by a GM, CS or anyone else.
We continue to block access to areas where players can get themselves into such trouble.

Yes, otherwise I wouldn't have stated as such...

So basically you want an unintended effect to stay in the game, one that has been shown to cause issues with character databases and massive headaches for both players and Turbine?
Look, I like exploring the game as much as anyone, hell I've found so many spots in LOTRO that were otherwise inaccessible, but I also know that doing these things can result in both a ban and me losing my character, which is why I do it sparingly and generally in regards to filing bug reports.

Just because something is 'unique' like rooftop running doesn't mean it should be in the game. It was unique that entering Forochel would result in you carrying the fog elsewhere in the game, which led to a lot of players having issues playing the game. It was unique when the chair trains were rolling through Middle-earth, but that didn't mean it should be in-game.
These things are unintended functions which can have negative impacts on players...

What I'm saying is that I've never encountered that sort of thing or anybody who experienced that directly. As it is now, it looks like a big spook to me, sort of scary story with no proof.
I'd rather prefer that devs would fix troubles than to block access to unique places.

How does it work then? I mean, roofs should be roofs, no? Some you can get legitemely on, so why would others cause problems? Isn't it rather a bug of some sort then? I am just curious. Nothing wrong with blocking things that could cause harm. But sometimes you'd think fixing them would be more appropriate. That's an opinion without having an inside look of course.

Wow...that's very very interesting. And nearly unbelievable. Are you saying there is a /delete function that is more powerful than /delete built into the lack of terrain?
I can literally delete my toon and for a fee you can give it back, but if I fall through certain areas of the map the player data is scrubbed from your databases?
That's some serious Tron stuff there...

Yep. Here's an example of the nerf. Update 6/6.1 on left, Update 7 on right. Sapience, how come you haven't addressed this yet? It's been posted several times in this thread and also in other threads.

Becase you end up with a toon that is in an area that does not exist. You can't be recalled from that area because there is no frame of reference for our tools. They just error out. The character exists but you cannot leave or be moved from the place you're in.
So less Tron and more Hotel California.
