Okay, slightly noobish question but what do you have to buy (and at what level do you have to be) to get the turtle raid?
P.S. yes I'm getting ready for it waaay in advance and I'm just curious
Ameldun: [Level 85 Hunter]
Akkhal: [Rank 4 Warleader] Mozkhal: [Rank 4 reaver]
And a bunch more... On gladden of course
Turtle is a lvl 60 (need to be at least lvl 58? i believe) raid, that even though it is kind of outdated, people still like to run it. You can get it by purchasing the Moria quest pack/expansion I believe.
Also, despite it being 15 lvls under the cap, it still is a fun raid. I mean, who doesn't like turtle soup
It comes with the Moria quest pack or the Moria expansion, and I think the minimum level to start the instance (and to contribute well) is 58.

You just go in and press buttons that deal damage. The end. At least at 60 it was slightly compelling in that you had to manage tanks and healing and DPS aggro and such. At 75 it's just stupid. You could get together 12 people to go kill any mob in the entire LotRO landscape and it'd be the exact same thing, minus the ultra rare trophy drop, I suppose.
Well, it may be boring. But, it's the easiest and fastest way to get some Moria Medallions, Bright emblems of Nimrodel... First ager for a lvl 60 is still a nice thing to have...
FYI, if you are a burg, you can contribute meaningfully at almost any level (I dragged a level 40-something in just for the 10% increased damage for everyone).
Despite being not impressive as a raid (raid = a size, not complexity; just like broadway theaters are a size of theater, not a location), I still see folks screw up in there, DPS not controlling their threat for example.
To increase the challenge, see how few people you can do it with, or how many healers can be DPSing, or have a burg practice their tanking skills instead of your heavy, etc.

Why do I occasionally do Turtle when I'm horrendously overlevelled?

as I have alts coming up who will like having a FA and some armour.

3manning it Grd/Cappy/Champ was fun. As was tanking it when the on-level warden decides to ignore all chat and dps, when I was in full glass cannon build. As was running with pretty much no heals and tank swapping rk/champ. And it's short now. 2mins with a load of 75s is no time investment at all
It's also a low pressure situation where you can learn whether your computer can handle raids.
