I was very surprised to see there were no lotteries for Mother's Day. We seem to have a lottery for everything else, but not Mother's Day? There was a lottery for Cinco de Mayo.
Turbine can't award prizes when the world servers are down. Monday the game is down for Update 7. I wouldn't surprise me if some of the people like Community Relations are making final prep for the prop on Monday.
Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.

Also remember this is an International MMO - here in the U.K. we had our 'Mother's Day' back in March.
Same as we had a bank holiday the first Monday in May. When many people were off work in the U.K. the servers were down for about 7 hours from late morning til early evening U.K. time, but this holiday wouldn't have been the case in many other countries.
Different places have different holidays/festivals/events, Turbine can't cater for every holiday or special occasion in the probably 100+ countries that people play this game in.
Yeah, not having a lottery for Mother's Day is a bit disappointing.
Do you realise that not everyone playing LOTRO lives in the US? In other parts of the world Mother's Day was weeks ago, and there wasn't a special lottery then, either.

People always bring this up(not just in LotRO, but other MMOs as well) but fail to realize that Turbine(and most other MMO developers) are based in the US, so they will likely us American holidays if they use them at all.
Hey, they did Cinco De Mayo for cryin' out loud. That's not even a US holiday, although some of us like to party that day. Same for St. Patrick's day. I was moderately disappointed at no Mom's day lottery, but with the update coming, I just figured they were busy.
well some countries celebrate mother's day next week ( the 27th ) so... yes well it would be nice with something
Treebeard: You must understand, young Hobbit, it takes a long time to say anything in Old Entish. And we never say anything unless it is worth taking a long time to say.

Yes and LotR is an English book, based in a fictional England, Great Britain and Europe complete with English spelling and euphemisms. Turbine's intent is to make this game as close to Tolkien's works as possible and I'm sure that doesn't mean including commercialized American days of celebration.

You're missing the point.
Marking holidays with a special event is a way to get more people playing, and thus making more income. Even though LOTRO is now international and run by Turbine alone, I'm convinced the majority of their playerbase is American. And if not, this is still their main target group. So they're going to focus on holidays where Americans will have or take the day off.
But, it is not the real mother day. Everyone living near Antwerp knows that the real mother day is 15th August (The celebration of virgin Mary going to heaven). The mothers day which has recently passed is only a commercial one, and should be neglected.
