Wild Weekend Wrestles With Water-Based Organic Suspensions

I've been told the forums have regained their usual borderline stability by now so, hypothetically mind you, I'm assuming it's safe to open...

*peeks around corner, gets waved in by furry, leaping baristas*

I don't suppose I've had too much to relay for the past few days anyway. Most of my time's been spent working on bracer-y-ness with mixed results. At this point I'm fairly sure this particular piece will be at a state worthy of being referred to as "finished" sometime tonight. Afterwards I'm sure there will be a prodigious blurb to write concerning it. In the meantime I think I have a much smaller blurb to cross post this morning.

Meanwhile I hope all are well and a grand weekend is to be had by all. Preferably with some mighty fine organic suspensions.

Teeny blurb but there's lots more pics at the bloggy-thing

Not much to say about this one since it's pretty much the same thing as the Celtic Dog pouch. The tooling was pretty simple and I used the spoon to mold and round out the leather. I doubt the effect would show up in 2D pictures but I'm pleased with it. I used Saddle Tan for the vines/tree and diluted Emerald Green for the leaves. Individually they worked pretty well but in combination (especially on the sides) I think they came out a bit too Halloween-y.

Ranger belt is now 33% complete!

    Morning Landrovalrim,

Garaf, you are becoming quite adept at leatherworking. That is truly remarkeable work, and me and Gombur salute you!

Nothing much happening today. Played a little lotro and am going back in a bit to work on crafting. I have decided to level up Gombie as a Tailor and forester. Other than that, gonna get a good rest. I am off for 4 days and am going to clean up the house a bit, and I have a huge stack of unwanted mail that I have to shred.

    Have a good weekend folks!

I started out this morning looking for a couple items I bought towards the end of the season last year and wound up with a box of clothing to be donated once again. I still have a box of t shirts with history that I will never wear again but will still keep for the afore mentioned history. Many other items will be worn by others I hope, purchased from the Southern Pines Thrift Store (proceeds of which go to help finance the low cost spay/neuter clinic.)

Not much else going on. Hopefully rest and relaxation will be had by all.

Just finished one nice amber ale... along with a barbecued pork steak. Nice warm sunny evening. All is essentially right in the world...

Would concur heartily about the leather working. Looks very nice. I went back into that space game for a bit today. Been very little time for gaming with travel and work lately. But got a little fix in.

And did the mother's day shopping today. Think tomorrow's main present though will be a thorough yard and deck spring cleaning. /flex, stretch, flex in preparation...

Doc - I'm really glad to hear your stress levels have been dropping. Despite the extra driving, this change at work is going to be really good for your health.

As for shredding... I wish that would work for getting rid of other unwanted things!!!

Yeah, I have a lot of those sorts of clothing items as well. A very old sweater that I wrote every one of my university exams in. T-shirts from my first year wtih UrbanPromise. Mrs. Slammy has nudged them into the goodwill pile a few times, and they've always managed to return to my closet. She's about given up I think!

So, managed to get out to Avengers in Ultra AVX 3D last night - my new favorite Super Hero movie! That was tres awesome! Totally enjoyed that. Pew Pew Pew!!! That's all I'm going to say. Pew! Pew! Pew!

Finally, picked up a box of See's chocolates on my last trip through LA... yum!

    Questions for discussion:
    Favorite SuperHero movie. Favorite Superhero.
    Favorite chocolate.

    Enjoy your weekend folks.

I too saw the avengers this week and LOVED it. Was also thankful that for once the 3D didn't strain my eyes or give me a headache afterwards!

Hmm fave superhero movie would have to be The Dark Knight, simply because Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart's performances as Joker and Harvey Dent were amazing. Favourite superheros though would have to be Rogue and Magneto from X-men comics/animated series.

I had a strange Saturday myself. Went house hunting with family to find a new place to rent at the end of the month, found one potential place so that was good. But then in the evening, after the Rangers game, I left my room to get some ice for my drink when suddenly there was a kitten INSIDE MY HOUSE. All of the doors were shut, same thing with the windows and no one remembers letting a strange kitten inside. It was very weird. Stranger kitten is sitting on my lap right now as I type this as he doesn't seem to want to leave. It's especially surprising considering my dog Mimo and cat Ser Roxas usually dislikes stranger animals, but both have taken to this little one.

We've put him at around 3 months of age. I've temporarily named him Loki for the magical way he appeared in my house having seemingly bypassed by dog. We'll see over the next few days if he finally decides to leave or if he becomes part of the family.

Hope everyone else is having a fantastic weekend and enjoying the fine weather (well fine in nyc at least!)

Howdy allez. I finally managed to finish the first of those bracers last night. Whew. The fundamental design of the thing underwent a number of revisions while it was in progress but the end result isn't too bad. I'm sure there'll be a grand, prolific blurb for crossposting tomorrow. In the meantime I've got the day to myself to do some packing, call the far-off mum (it is her day after all), and maybe practice some of my tooling. Ya'll have a good 'un!

Yeah, Dark Knight was good. very good. But Avengers, for straight out superhero smash 'em up fun was awesome. Really good fun.

Good naming job on the mysterious kitteh! That ranks right up there with the mystery of how they get the caramel into the caramilk bar!

Tried calling the mum. She's off gallivanting on a bus tour! Good for her!

Off to a bbq for the other grandmum, and Mrs Slammy.

Spent the last 1.5 hours scouring Surrey for garden waste recycling bags (only allowed to use paper garden waste bags - spent more on gas than on the bags - and never even found any. All of Surrey is out cleaning their yards methinks.) Bah. Oh well. Time for bbq.

Fav superhero,...Started with Thor back in the day. Then moved on to Moon Knight for some silly reason.

    Fav chocolate?

Those of us who last met in NYC, Union Square, may remember the Max Brenner desert place,...I have had their hot chocolate and it's like potently yum!

    Fav Superhero movie?!

So many,..hmm,..Avengers is probably by far the most choc-full of hero WWF awesomeness..

But for a super hero movie that actually moved me during the tumultuous time of my youth,..

    anyone,..?

we should pick this up through tomorrow too,..hehe

had a nice time with my mom, my biological one,..some thai food was had,..and as mentioned it was very nice today for a little walk. After that I was on the phone with my other mom,who equally raised me and I owe her much of the old fashioned Americana Norman Rockwell values that I hold today, I was truly lucky.

    cheers all!
