Thread: A request to the late-night creeps -- BBB filming tomorrow

Hello all,

Some of you may have heard of the Bards, Beers and LongBeards (BBB), a band on Landroval that plays every Sunday afternoon outside the Prancing Pony. If you haven't, then you should totally take a look at our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/BardsBeersLongbeards. We make the most awesome music videos in LotRO.

For our latest video, we want to film a band-massacre scene at an undisclosed location in the Moors... and for that, we'll need the help of as many creeps as we can gather sometime between 11PM and 1AM EDT tomorrow (Saturday) night (or Sunday morning -- whatever you choose to call it). So if you regularly play around this time, and want to gain instant celebrity status as one of the scary monsters that killed BBB, please post here and/or watch for my callout in /regional tomorrow! (I will be logged in as Anoarnakh)

Please keep in mind that this is entirely voluntary. Also, the killing will happen only once, so there is no intention of promoting farming of any kind. If you choose to participate, you may get the odd scrap of free infamy... but you will also get a special mention in the end-credits of the music video!

If anybody has questions, please post them here or find me in-game. Thanks in advance for cooperating!

I have stopped by a few times to listen to you folks play in Bree. Best of luck with your latest video. Followed your link and watched some videos. You folks are a prime example of how to have fun in game.

Arcticey - I've tried without much success to dye myself bright purple using beetroot.

My only other option is green using pickles. I am NOT doing that! I know where Sars has been!

Many, many thanks to all the lovely creeps that came along to help us make the BBB video. You all looked beautiful, and Bluebonnett was particularly fond of the wolf that ... well, never mind about that, but I caught it on video. Oh yeah.

But seriously, that was a wonderful display of cooperation, and we in BBB really appreciate it. I was amazed at how well it went, and how helpful you all were.

If you were unable to get into the group for any reason (missed my callout in /regional, sent me a /tell but didn't get an invite, etc.), I apologize... I was busy double-boxing a creep and a freep, trying to listen to Aegthil's directions and relay them, so in all probability I wasn't paying attention. However, there is a definite possibility that we may come out to the Moors to film more often; we hope you can join us next time!

Also, for those of you who do occasionally come freepside: you are invited to our regular show tomorrow (Sunday), at 3PM Eastern, outside the Prancing Pony. Bring beer, bring pipeweed, bring stuff to throw at Aegthil. And don't forget your dancing shoes!

Thank you folks so much for the chance to take a break from our daily routine. It was so nice to be afforded the opportunity to be a part of one of your lovely films. Made me wistful for my RP days in Ultima Online. I will try to stop by the Pony more often to listen to the music.

Was a wonderful break from the norm, the pleasure was ours.


Just a note: the Delving would be a great place to shoot a sequel.... would take a bit more coordination to clear the npcs that will attack both factions but would be a great setting to involve the creeps with

Thanks for the good times BBB that was a lot of fun! Can't wait to see the video and I think there is a lot more cool scenes we could come up with to do another sometime. I particularly loved defending the film set from the evil freeps that showed up to try and ruin our fun. As a side note Wyver and I were talking and we were fascinated by the sort of cross game-cultural cooperation of it all, a lot of us creeps just play creeps and never venture into the PvE part of LoTRO much if at all. It was very cool to meet a group of folks that enjoy the game in a totally different way than we do and that we could get together and enjoy it together was pretty neat. I have always talked about how we as players are free to play and enjoy the game how we want to and that nobody should be telling us the "right" way to play. Usually this idea is confined to the PvP aspects of the game since that is all I play, but it is awesome to see that you folks are coming up with your own ways to enjoy the game that I never even thought of.

That was an awesome fun time there BBB. we all thank you. It was fun coordinating the scenes with you all and giving ideas of what angles to take and such. Please , If you wish to do so again please dont hesitate to ask as you can always contact me and my crew and we`ll be happy to assist. ive located various locations for filming sets that could be entertaining.

Also, It was awesome to see how Creeps are actually the good guys making sure that Band remained safe while Freeps attempted to ruin the scenes by calling us out on their /OOC channel to bring more to massacre us. No offense freepsies but we know you guys called us out so we went ahead and took care of that group that attempted to spoil our fun.

It was a great change of pace and glad to see that people are having fun with the game other than PvP.\

I just came over to see what was happening. When asked to move out of the shot through a tell from a freep I did so. Pounce came down the hill and like I always do when its play time not kill time I stunned him, it does zero damage. A few secs later I was killed by all the creeps.

From that point forward it was game on. I was just there to watch and emote and mess around but, the second you all killed me I took that as play time was over. I was solo and didnt ask anyone else to attack you all. A few of other freeps were just there to watch as well and were killed for some reason.

Ive been gone two weeks and after last night seeing as nothing has changed I may stay gone we shall see.

Anyway, I glad the BBB got what they came out for. And if Im not back it was a pleasure fightning beside or against all of you.

No offense to you FD i know you`re one of the cool people on freepside and we have no beef with you whatsoever.
you are one of the few people we really like out there.

As for whomever it was that called us out. we`re not certain who it was. The person organizing this ingame movie was also controlling his boxed toon on freepside along with the band and had told us that someone ( he didnt say who ) called us out to come roll us over and few moments later we saw about 5-6 freeps show up , so we took care of them before they took care of us.

I saw the callout but after I heard the non RPing freeps were just getting zerged, I didn't go up to watch knowing it was just going to be more of the same.

I do find it interesting that some of the participants go out of their way to call out and break up 1v1 circles, but apparently these RP things are OK.

Double standards FTW. It's a PvP zone amirite? Break up 1v1s circles ofc, but don't cry when the same happens to the RP stuff.

Thank you so much for helping us! You guys are brilliant. No, seriously, that big BBB killing scene deserves an Oscar, I nearly jumped and dropped my mouse IRL when you all pounced on us at once. My most epic death in LotRO (especially after I managed to die in Celondim after falling off a cliff yesterday, lol).
And our poor lvl 48 bobbit drummer won't forget this day for the rest of her life.

Easy points. People want easy points so if you're in a 1v1 circle, you're not zerged up or between wtab and stab which is the optimal location for boring and yawn point grinding.

And if RPers want to give away free infamy, the easy pointers are there as well.

It's not hard to figure out Jaiyne When you just want easy points, you can't get them in a 1v1 or exploring. You either have to be between wtab/stab grouped or killing RPers.


EDIT: We're referring to Wyver, right? I know I am. Panzy!

Because when freeps go out of their way to go on the forums and post few days in advance for our help to film some sort of event , we will respect their request.

Does this apply if someone intends to fraps a fight club?

ill avoid that area if that's what you intend, and again , it its a remote location away from where everyone usually rolls , away from mapping locations , there are plenty of areas that no one ever goes there if that's what you're planning, make sure you post it also ahead of time.

Edit : Also the person who organized it requested when we met up to go to a certain location which was far away from any map in location , JUST BECAUSE we wanted to avoid any drama-lama. most of the vids he took were at a certain spot where we were not interfered by other creeps or freeps.

Just to make things clear -- BBB made this decision fully expecting to run into trouble of some kind. We tried our best to choose an out-of-the-way location, but things happen. The important thing is, we managed to get the necessary shots, and had fun while learning from the experience. Perhaps it could be organized better next time.

I have no idea who called us out. I was double-boxing a creep and a freep alt, and the Band simply told me that we'd been called out. My first priority was to *avoid* a fight, so I told all the creeps to map out of the area. But by then the freeps had already arrived, and everyone was charging, so there was nothing I could do.

The point I'd like to make is, this was supposed to be a *non-combat-oriented* event. That's what distinguishes it from a fight club, which (as I understand it) is where people gather to, well, fight each other. We were just there to get some filming done, and we were trying to be as quick and efficient as possible. After all, it is an open PvP zone, and most peeps come out to fight, not to stand around posing for pictures. That's why it's all the more admirable that these creeps took time out to help us with the filming. We had some great teamwork and cooperation from everyone, and I'm very grateful for that.

And now, we can all go back to killing each other until the next filming is scheduled.

When you hold a fight club on the GTA map in, expected to be called out and raided. Candy mountain is the spot for those who really feel the need for such things. Or at the very least, move it off into the woods towards LC. All freeps are food.

FD, so sorry you got nommed, most of us figured things were cool with you there but someone called out the spot and made it rather clear they had done so. It is always great seeing you any where in the moors.

All said and done...it was a good time....I am anxious to see the end result!
