Discussion: Halloween (again)

My almost yearly request, forums keep filling up and pruning the old, so here goes:

Can we please for the 1 day (or a couple, but not greedy!) have a door that lets creeps out into the real world?

Maybe a couple doors to put us in various places.

Mirkwood and Angmar have easily controlled exits to block, one shotters can be placed there to prevent creeps escaping.
In Bree you can put some usage to that door!

Of course the pvmp buff would be present in those zones, no one would have repair costs.

Freeps would actually feel like they are protecting "something" by killing creeps.
Now some might say as in past, well everyone would play a creep, how about double renown during that time in the opened areas?

You want to revitalize some enthusiasm into pvmp before people cancel subscriptions for other games (that even the devs are playing)? Promise them something like this.

They actually did this a long time ago; I think it was with the Codemasters. I wouldn't mind being able to do a repeat of that event.

I didn't think codemasters let the PvE and Pvp'rs mingle together though. I thought that it was somewhat separated and it was eregion or something and the Bree one was in Russia. I really am not sure though and I could be way off.

Either way as cool as it would be I'm sure it would be way to complicated and cause a TON of issues including massive lag for everyone. This kind of event would be great maybe the evening before the next expansion or something. Maybe 8hours or so before the servers go down they could open up the world...and whatever happens happens.

If turbine wanted to do it without causing any harm to PVE players all they have to do is just do it on the test server. Do it on the last day the server is open when they are testing an update. Would be a good stress test event, a lot better then the current ones they do.

Call it PVMP player appreciation day lol we deserve it.

I don't know about you, but everyone I've ever talked to about such events, and most everyone from threads such as this one said they would gladly accept issues and lag for a weekend of out of the ordinary fun. There are never any events in the moors. An event like that would gain Turbine a lot of the loyalty back that it's lost from its PvPers. And when I say event, I don't mean something like the GM events we had a couple months ago. That was not pretty, and did the complete opposite of gaining loyalty.

Actually there was one other event for the moors I remember 2-3 years ago April Fools. you had to get from Lug hotspot from behind lug (near Poor lug)...Anyways you had to go from there to GV without dying...All the pve'ers COMPLAINED about it so it was never done again...I know i killed about 1,800 chickens before it was "removed because of a bug" All the creeps ran threw first then zerged everyone else i have my title Fool :P

Careful what you wish for. The last time Turbine had a PvMP "event", all it was, was some random GM logging into a creep, getting ROFLstomped in 2 seconds by freeps, trying pimp the new skins in OOC, and then logging off after about 5 minutes.
