Hmm my husband was keen to get /jazzhands as there is somewhat of an in joke. I think he'll pass though after seeing the video. Looks like jazzhands for creepy nasty people that want to scare the neighborhood kids. /jazzhands mwahahaaaha
Sadly, I can already see the perverse griefing potential in the jazz hands emote. Bad enough when players knock my gals down and then move back and forth on top of them. Now they can pretend to grope my characters. Shudder....
Emotes
Grant your character the ability to dance, breathe fire, howl at the moon and more! LOTRO Store Emotes can be used to express a range of actions and emotions that add to the fun in Middle-earth!
But when I try to get this /howl emote I simply cannot find it in a Store. Does anyone else experience this?
/tickle can be obtained with Algraig rep in Enedwaith, and /drive is also rep obtainable, I can't remember if it's through Algraig, Grey Co., or Dunland... And /jazzhands... yeah, wish I'd have seen that before purchase. It's an affront to Fosse, that emote!
Thanks for showing videos! It's very helpful for people considering buying emotes to know what they're getting.
Many of the emotes in the store can be earned in the game. I'm pretty sure that the true store exclusives are:
/feather
/groundroll
/howl (I don't know why this one doesn't show up either)
/jazzhands
/jjacks
/snowwizard
/warmhands
/wipesweat
/mountrearup
/mountkick
/mountbow
/paper
/scissor
/stone
Some of them have been offered in lotteries - I won /mountrearup on one character this way.
All the other ones offered (drive, putt, chip, firebreath, sword-salute, fishslap, juggle, tickle, hero-pose, drunk, spin, sneeze, jump, and all of the dances) can be earned in the game by one means or another. Of course, some of them involve difficult grinds, so if you want to buy them instead a 35% off sale would be a good time to do it.

Thanks, i will add that to the description of the videos.

Thanks, i actually already made a video about groundroll, but i forgot to upload it.
For paper, scissor, stone... I won't buy it because i already know it's a waste of TP... Maybe for 25 TP each it's a good deal.
Uploaded /groundroll now

You're adorable! Thank you for providing a near-perfect example of what an underdeveloped sense of empathy looks like. :grins:
To answer your question -- my personal reasons:
Some of them make me giggle.
Some of them just fit a character's personality.
Some of them can be strung into dance routines!
... which works out to my actual reason: because it entertains me. Is that insufficient?

Interesting. Thanks for this information. Of course I wanted to know more, and as always, Google is your best friend. It provided me with an ancient thread which is still worth reading.

I believe, that these three can be earned with Yule festival consumables, but need check... dont take me on the word. Someone else could rectify if i am right or wrong???
Thank you, Turbine, for listening and giving us an opt-out of FE! Good work!

I, myself would never spend TPs on emotes. But I understnd these people here are looking for something in this game the rest of us are not. While like i said I would never spend that way, I do support their enjoying their experience any way they choose.

Something a character from game of thrones did before he defecated on the fallen foe too.
O.o Have a slight suspicion that that may be deemed a little too extreme by the Devs...tho tbh I believe the editors insisted that JRRT cut one specific paragraph (along those lines) featuring Gandalf and The Balrog from the books.
