Thread: Account-Wide Purchases

This might seem like a silly question, but if you buy things from the store that are account-wide, do they affect only your current characters or those made in the future as well? I'm mainly referring to things that give items. Like this newest horse. I don't want to pay 3k for that, make another alt in a month, and find out he won't get it.

Wouldn't make much sense if it was current characters only, but with all the free MMOs that I've played, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Just an excuse to get people to spend more money (or grind more TPs in this case).

It's not a silly question. The account-wide store items that we've had for a while all apply to future characters that haven't been created yet. This is for things like quest packs, currency cap removal, crafting guild access, etc. But as far as I know this is the first time we've had an account-wide item available in the store, so really it could go either way.

I think it most likely that it will be given to future characters too, because the coding for that is already in place. That's the way it works when somebody applies a PAX mount code, or gets the RoI pre-order cosmetics on every new character.

To be certain, I guess we'll have to wait for confirmation from Turbine, or a report from somebody who's gone ahead and bought it.

The Account Wide options for the Reveller's Gilded items are intended to apply to your entire account that you purchased the items on. This includes being applied to characters you already have and will be applied to future characters you create.

I have long wished that there were several items that were account wide purchases. Steeds would be one thing i would like to see account wide. But just my 2 cents.

I want to add the cosmetics and the horse come in a parcel that can be reclaimed one time per week/char using the /reclaim command.
The cosmetics are bound to account (bound to server) which is very good too.
