Did a quick search and noticed that there is no thread for this amazing (Underground) sport.
I've been playing for ~2 years, I'm a member of DFW's Lethal Response Unit. We mainly play at Fast Action Airsoft and DFWAP.
I own a CYMA M14 SOCOM with about ~$300 worth of upgrades in it. She shoots 425 FPS (Feet Per Second), has a range of ~300 feet, and is effectively accurate to ~250 of those feet. With that massive CYMA RIS on her, she weighs in at a whopping 11.5 pounds. Lol
I've owned:
(In order)
Aftermath MP5 (externally upgraded to the max, traded this for the G36c)
TM Desert Eagle
JG G36c (upgraded to the max, traded this for the M14)
UTG L96 (Slightly upgraded, Sears, Tightbore barrel, etc)
UTG M324, (no upgrades)
DE shotgun
Stunt Studios shotgun
Stunt Studios C02 M1911a1
WELL MP7
If you need help choosing a gun/fixing your gun, shoot me a PM. I know a little bit about gearboxes, and I know I can definitely pick you out a gun that will last you a while.
Please remember to always play responsibly, never openly carry your replicas in public, never remove the orange tip in public, always wear eye protection when playing. Always treat your replica like you would a real weapon.

Random question; What's your opinion of the fusion engine drop-in?
Also, I think you mean feet, not yards... The highest range I've ever heard of any remotely legal airsoft gun hitting is about 350 feet. (But man I wish I could hit someone 300 yards away... that would be fun )

Yeah, I meant feet. Thanks for pointing that out. Haha. :3 She is field legal, though. It's just a factor of:
Proper shimming
Proper AoE
Proper greasing
Amazingly perfect airseal
Fusion engine? Well... I've heard some bad things, things, other very good things... A few of the pros are not very many moving parts. With a normal V2 gearbox, you have to take it apart, reshim, regrease, adjust AoE (Angle of Engagement) for a nice performance and longevity. The pins, gears and springs make it hard to take apart, but the P* is quite the opposite. Not to mention, it's all CNC aluminum
It only has 2 moving parts (The nozzle and the valve). To change the FPS, that's what you need to switch out. To change the RPS, you need to play around with the FCU (Basically a MOSFET with a crapload of other gadgets)
Performancewise, it's amazing. Insane trigger response. Nowhere else can you get 35 BPS @ 500FPS and not blow your gearbox. Insanely amazing range with good hop and good .25g bbs, although .30+ is reccommended.
You will need a battery (To power the FCU)
PROBLEMS!
The wiring can suck. Customer service can be ###### at times.
A few other complaints consist of:
The harness getting in the way
An entire team's engines stopping working (P* gave them all new engines which haven't had problems yet)
A guy switched his nozzle and forgot to change it back, so his field turned him away when he was 250 FPS over the field limit.

I don´t see it there in your collection. At least you had a MP5.
I do desparately want a P90. I'm thinking about picking up a CA Sportsline with a stripped piston for $50, but I'm not sure... CA Sportslines aren't all that awesome...
The MP5 broke... I traded it to a local tech who's got it up and running at 25 rps and 450 FPS... I do miss it....

I agree that being sportive helps to get the most out of this activity.
But how can you consider playing wargames being a sport of any sort?
And why do you call the gun 'she'? It is 'it'. Or 'he' if you have to, but what exactly makes a gun feminin?
I had to use a real g36 in my times. And I dont see how enacting hunting and killing humans can bear fun at all.
But thats just mine, reality influenced opinion. ^^

Well... It's not actually a sport yet... Not officially. It's a sport in the same way paintball and reballing are sports (Except for the fact that Paintballers/Reballers have a completely different mindset from that of airsofters.
Why do we refer to our boats as 'she'?
Because mariners were out sailing most of their lives and they didn't have a female companion for much of that time.
Airsofters are essentially the same way.
Next. If I understand correctly, then you were once in the Army, correct? In that case, let me pause and thank you for your service.
This is where it gets hard... I can either make the Airsoft community come off as idiots, or as people who pretend to be military. I don't want to do either.
Gameplay varies in style and composition but often range from short-term skirmishes, organized scenarios, military simulations, historical reenactments, to competition target shooting events. Combat situations on the battlefield often involve the use of common military tactics to achieve objectives set in each game. Participants typically emulate the tactical equipment and accessories used by modern military and police organizations.
I hope that answered your question.
Interesting fact:
Believe it or not, Airsoft was created and in Asia in the late 1970s, due to civilian ownership of firearms being banned. Airsoft was used to closely emulate real guns. Since the mid 1980s, airsoft guns have been adapted with a purely recreational application in mind, and the hobby is enjoyed by all ages. Most airsoft guns are produced in China and Taiwan, while some are also produced in Japan, South Korea and in the United States.

It's a more advanced version of fencing or wrestling, basically. The US military and a number of police and security contractors often use airsoft for training purposes, too.

I don't know why, but manly things tend to get called "she". Like ships, back in the day.

Hmm. You put it better than I did...
Training like that normally uses the KWA M9, as it's the standard issue pistol for just about everything.

Aye, I bought one for myself last year. Bar non the best airsoft purchase I've made so far.
KWA makes good stuff... Lately I've been eying their G36.
Ehh... You might be better off with SRC or some other brand... KWA likes to make upgrading the AEGs a little hard... A few pieces in the gearboxes are proprietary...
Besides, SRC shines like gold compared to KWA.
However, the GBBs are by far the best on the market, imho. Never have liked the TM GBBs... They're little (well, not so little... Lol) gas hogs.
