Thread: problem with A Daring Escape

Here's your problem: don't leave the tavern. After you paff in from the jail, talk to the three guys at the bar, then Stanric eventually shows up with his own glowing gold ring. Click on him to advance the quest, and he'll paff you to the meadhall. The problem is that Stanric takes forever to do anything, yammering on all the while, which sort of explains how he lost control of Stangard in the first place.

I'm having trouble completing this quest on my hunter and was wondering if anyone else ran into the same issue and had a workaround.

I've done the quest a few times before but not recently so my memory of how it's supposed to play out might be off. Anyway, what happens is this. I talk to Stanric to start the instance, free him, chat with him again then exit the prison. I'm teleported to the tavern. I talk to . . . Athwulf (?) to advance the quest and am told to talk to Stanric in the meadhall. The problem, I think, is that when I exit the tavern instead of being teleported to the meadhall I'm put outside the tavern in an empty Stangard. There are invisible barriers that keep me from either leaving Stangard or proceeding to the meadhall--so I'm stuck at that point. I can't re-enter the tavern (the door will open but it says I can't use the entrance when I walk into it), so I canceled the quest at that point and was back in the jail next to the locked up Stanric.

I tried logging to character select and restarting LoTRO completely, but I run in to the same issue either way. I've tried it now four times with the same result. Any ideas?

And, yes, I did submit a bug report in game.

After you are put outside, leave the instance (right-click your portrait -> leave instance). Talk to Stanric and reenter the instance. You will go through several loading screens and quickly* end up in the mead hall and you will be able to continue. That is how it worked for me.

*or not so quickly if your PC is slow

I tried it again this evening. After talking to Athulf I went afk for about 5 minutes. When I came back I was in the meadhall standing behind Stanric, and the quest proceeding as usual from there. Thanks for the help!
