Fun stuff. How many were there? Seemed like 8 at least.
As I said last night, we really appreciated you guys hanging around since it was only Sorae and me to start, and you had nommed us silly a few times just prior out in the open while the freep raid was who knows where doing who knows what
I had to save Tree because he pretty much speeds around me at Mach 10 in his fluorescent bubble. It's pretty distracting so it's best if I deal with him so I can clear out my screen

There's a thread for good 1v1s. Maybe we need another for the occasional good group and raid fights we get out there in the Moors.
Here's a shout out to Jaiyne, Sorae and Treelios for the fight in HH last night with our SWS pack. I knew going in that we'd probably not come out on top in that, but we engaged in the middle of all the hobbitses anyway. We lost, but that was still alot of fun.
Oh i like this idea. I was just in a group with Mlsoun, Aranky, Uzzy, and Semi and we went up against two other groups of freeps. Was a blast We dominated So thanks for taking SWS in with DB!!! -Haz
Boards have been screwy ever since the last "maintenance."
As to how many, I think we had 6 left at that point. Yeah...that was the last fight, and there were only 6 of us when I called it and passed leader onto someone else.

You know it!!! As I've said before,I'm a goat-riding-milk-drinking-man-healing-PERMA-SPRINTING-BUBBLELICIOUS-champ.(and I'm proud of it)
Was that supposed to anger me in any way? Or what? C'mon Nandir.....at the end of the day I'll still beat the living #### out of you.
/cheers
Why would I want to anger you? I was just joking. Though it sure brought up how serious you feel about your skills in a mere game.
Oh and my Real-World sanity tells me that my creep is not alive, doesn't eat and doesn't have to go take a _ _ _ _. So you haven't beaten the living _ _ _ _ out of anybody.
/cheers

to me:
Mlsoun = a demigod of Healing and Protection I feel so protected when grouped with him (little puppy needs to feel safe)
Arankathil = spider queen of Poisoning and Webbing
Uzgaroth = a trusted Friend and Family (he is my adopted son)
I love grouping with all of you and look forward to it.
At least I know when I log in for some epic Lotro PvP, I can look forward to more of this as soon as I ride out, get warg packed, get rezzed by an LM (derp), and then die to the dozen invisible wargs again immediately
GG!

They got me once. Then when I watched them in a pretty competitive fight, they suddenly realize I'm 20m away after their victory and start chasing me like I'm going to be a challenge.
Somebody must've told them there was bacon in your pockets. Silly dogs.

Jaiyne - To put that in full perspective, we didn't stay after you dropped the first time. We actually moved off as far as TRHS and came back. By sheer timing, we happened to return to TA lawn just as you were rezzed. BTW, thanks for that pic. Shows me we need to fine-tune using our roots.
Also, FWIW, my network crashed about 2 minutes after that. Don't know what skill you got off there, but it put me out for the rest of the night.
Fell - You look like bacon and we're hungry.
Shilow - Most were at the rez. Otherwise, we thought you were heading back to it.
We actually found a number of competitive group fights last night. Yes, a few singles got nommed (one or two repeatedly) but we were tagging in and out against groups and the main raid more often than not. We took our hits as well as gave 'em.
Killing 1 player 10 v1 once or repeatedly requires no fine tuning...
I actually have the combat log of the fight screenied because it was very funny that 6 of the wargs that actually did damage to me, used Tendon Shred. I know I'm OP but man, that's just epic lawlz.

It's cool; just gives me more reason to zerg up like the rest of the zone.
Everyone else seems to be doing it and it also seems like its the only way to play anymore. I feel guilty about it but theres not many options left -Haz

Resist. I'm serious. Like I keep telling Strobe whenever we don't zerg some lone BA, when he just zerged us 15 minutes ago.
Keep fighting the good fight. Be cool. Don't be a jerk.
Everyone is trying to convince you to play bad. Warg packs that keep you grey bared. Zergs lead by people who seem to preach one thing but do another. Everyone wants you to be grouped and in between wtab and stab. Don't do it. Resist. Don't be bullied. Keep fighting the good fight; because we're out there.
Arctic, Eviliz, Gutlard, Strobe, etc, etc. We're all out there. Keep exploring and roaming. We're out there.
Fight the good fight. Don't be a schmuck. Don't be bullied.
edit: there are plenty of options. Don't be a terrawarg
edit edit: Bad players are bad and it's not fun. Sometimes I let fail people just farm me over and over. It's not fun for anyone and they eventually just ignore you. Just takes notes of who's stupid and don't play with them

As if freeps needed a reason to zerg. It is simply something deeply ingrained in their being. You put on the armor, pick up a weapon and enter zerg mode. Not saying it is any different on creep side,. All too often the desire to gather into huge masses seems to move the pvp. But to tell the truth, that is pretty much the way Turbine planned it.
The game is Lord of the Rings, and the fighting in the moors is suppose to be a sort of extension of the war spreading rapidly across middle earth. And in war, you do not often find groups of troops from the other side stop and say; "Hey, let's not slaughter that enemy. They are just out looking for a solo fight." In war, much is risked, and all too often heartache and defeat are close at hand.
You got killed in the moors? Welcome to the club. I think most of us have a nice long death count building up in our bios. But the challenge is to find within the numbers on the tally sheet some measure of fun. This game is built around massive forces going at one another. The creep numbers they thought would be there were never realized, but there are some nights when we may have the numerical advantage which would enable us to push the freeps to the edge of the abyss.
It is a game of numbers. Skill may from time to time show itself, but all in all, numbers as a general rule win the day. So zerg up because that is the norm. This is after all not street fighter 2 where you choose your one opponent and fight to the death. And do not allow your death count to get to you- Death is temporary, Infamy, or Renown is forever.

I find this statement to be wholely untrue, and in fact, quite the opposite.
Creepside has years of training that reinforced winning via numbers.
Freepside has nothing but more and more and more solo/small group emphasis since day one.
The idea of "raiding" as a freep is something most players don't even learn until WELL into their toon's development.
Whereas soloing for a creep is something that until VERY recently had almost no reward mechanic.
When was the last time you sat in Bree and saw "Need invite to the raid to finish my book quest"?
In my experience all freepside raiding is an extension of creepside raiding. Several freepside leaders have adopted teh CREEPSIDE thought process of numbers = wins. But lets not forget where it all started and where it continues to be predominant today. Creepside.
Want to know what turns new creeps off more than getting killed by a solo freep? Not being able to get into the raid creepside.

Luc - Until you actually invest time into a creep and rank it up to about R6, you might want to seriously consider not piping in too much about the workings on that side of the equation. You are woefully inexperienced and too blinded by your freep goggles to venture what can amount to a well-rounded insight.
For one thing, more often than not, the first time I see a new freep in the Moors, he/she is in tow with a raid. The psychology of it is simple. Initial ventures into the Moors are a little daunting for many, and being in the company of experienced PvPers can make that a little easier. But, it ingrains the idea that raiding is the way to go. The same argument applies creepside as well.
As to new creeps having difficulty getting into raids, part of that responsibiliy rests squarely with them as well. Let me repeat that: they are partially responsible. Why? Because all too often, new players will not follow the 2 basic requirements which are 1) turn on voice so you can hear which leads to 2) they aren't following instructions. Of course, alot with voice on don't either. Quite frankly, if I'm leading a raid, I don't have time to deal with that. I need the people in my raid where I tell them to be, focussing on the targets called out.
Yes, the argument can be made that we vets need to teach them. A number of us have tried, only to realize we have a better chance of getting our creeps to Bree than getting through to some of these players. That's the basis for why you're seeing vet raid leaders being more particular about who they let in.
The last thing I would add is that soloing has a very intrinsic reward that raidbabies don't generally seem to comprehend: you gain playing SKILL. I may not be in the same league as the likes of Arctic or Tailmange, but I can tell I've gotten somewhat better as a solo warg. I don't pack because I need to. For the most part, I can handle myself solo quite well these days. If I pack, it's because I want to hang with friends and have fun.

LoL... Sage wisdom?
...oh, and...you don't generally choose your opponent in fighting games -- definitely not in SFII.
...oh, and...you don't generally choose your opponent in fighting games -- definitely not in SFII.
Actually, in many you do. I know in a version of SF my son has he was able to choose his character and the opponent he would fight. Of course, that may be only in the two player game, where he was operating both sides. Hey, it is a lot like Lotro in that aspect, don't you think?

OK, I had to actually chuckle after being freepside for a little while last night with my burg. At what? At freeps calling out warg packs that had 3 wargs. I know it had three cuz I got taken down by it myself. Poetic justice, mayhaps! Either way, I thought it was funny that it happened to me.
Does three really make a pack? I know a good number of freeps who could solo a number of warg groups of that size, or ones with two or three more, and not all mini's or wardens or RKs.
I also want to thank a couple of freeps who at least acknowledged that the mid-sized pack last night (12 at one point) spent a lot of time focused against the freep raid in and around OC or wtab/west TA. There are a couple who can attest to that pack didn't gank known solos looking for solos. The lone freeps that did were known to be running with the raid.
