Yeah, been getting a couple token expired messages today myself. As well as the page reloads, etc. Best one just happened to me, said the forum requires 60 seconds between operations and to please wait 14005 seconds before trying again. Yep, that's right, 14005 seconds (~3.8 hours). Never saw one that high before. LOL, well at least it said please
(I did not post this 4 hours ago, lol...)

I like clicking a post 2 or 3 times to get it to open or clicking a post and it takes you back to the main forums page. I guess they are too cheap to buy a decent message board.
Tried to post quite a long response to a thread and got:
When I pushed my back button, my post was gone.
I give up with these forums.
These forums are prolly working just like they want them too. I find it hard to believe they could do a simple maintenance and totally pork the forums so bad like this. We all know how open they are to hearing from us. "rolls eyes" I am sure this is all by design to make it such a huge PITA for anyone to post anything. Think how much they could recover on their bottom line by burning half a dozen mods if this all keeps up?
I learned a long time ago, on many other forums, to hit CTRL A (select all), CTRL-C (copy), and if it gets eaten- CTRL-V (paste). DONT hit any button between the A and C step, or you will cry when the whole thing goes poof
I don't trust forums, especially on long posts....

Think how many subs they are losing/lost because they don't care. Their bottom line is getting smaller and smaller, soon the store won't have customers either.

Wow I tried to post something and it didn't show up. GRRR!

OMG Nooo!!!! If that store beast doesn't get fed, you know what's gonna happen right? Oh the horror!!
I would much rather have my belly button taken away for life!!
Just happened to me too. The funny thing is that the OP managed to make this thread, so maybe this time it will work for me too.
If it does happen to work, here is the thread I was trying to create:
I was looking for the Skirmish Bundle: Defend and Hold. It's here http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/LOTR...irmish_Bundles and I'd swear I'd seen it before in the store. I can't see it now, and I don't have it (or any of those skirmishes) but I can see the other bundle. Is this a glitch or the item has been removed from the store.
The bundles are 20% cheaper then buying piecemeal, but this week individual skirmishes are at 25% discount...
If it's gone for good I'll rush to buy the skirmishes on sale, otherwise they can wait. Any clues?
EDIT: heh, it did work, but I tried a third time to start a separate thread and still failed. I give up too.
But if you have any answer to the skirmish bundle question, please answer.
That type of thing can happen anywhere so I type my messages into wordpad or notepad, save, and then copy/paste. Unless it's a short message like this one.

Also, if you by chance do hit another button and overwrite the whole thing - give Ctrl-z a try before you cry
The people who spend most time on posts have something negative to say, and therefore making them type it twice will dilute the negative responses through attrition!

No no no, it's the fanbois that spend more time on post's. It's hard for them to write something and not look lovingly at their set of buffed up, scuffed up, rambo pom pom's every other sentence, and give them a good shaking at least once per paragraph, you have that totally backwards me thinks.

You are now obligated to give us a picture of a "buffed up, scuffed up, rambo pom pom". I'm suffering a failure of the imagination and would like a visual reference so I can share the laughter with others. (It doesn't hurt that I'm talking about the Pomeranian dogs, either, as we've always referred to them as pom poms.)

The fact that the forums have been horrible since I started playing (about 1.5 years now) shows to me that Turbine cares little about their online site. This forum and the lorebook are just pathetic. If they had any sense, they would make an upgrade of their forum a priority before upgrading old dungeons and zones.

It wasn't always like this. This coming September?(I forget exactly which month) is the 2nd anniversary of when some genius took down a perfectly working forum and replaced it with this pile of garbage.
The problems we are seeing now are just another piece of straw on the haystack of forum issues. Pretty soon it will be a 2 year old beta. *sigh*
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"
Civ II rules after all these years......
All forums have problems now and then, and it is indeed possible to lose messages if they aren't backed up somehow before submitting them.
I ran into this issue many years ago on different sites, and ever since, I compose my posts (except for really short ones) in a text editor, just in case. And I also, like others here have suggested, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy post text before submitting, just in case.
I haven't lost a post in years, and it's easy to keep it from happening.
Just sayin'
(And, prophetically enough, my first attempt to post this got munched.)

Yeah, this message board has been #### since they changed the site a couple years ago. Over the last few days though it's just been completely useless.
If you go to a store and the door is hanging off and the customer service area has chairs that are filthy and wobble when you sit on them, it doesn't give a very good impression does it. For a company the size of Turbine to still have a beta ( now broken beta ) forum is a disgrace.
The game really isn't much better for a lot of people at the moment either.

The forums and the way they (don't) work should be an absolute embarrassment to Turbine, and there's really no excuse for them to have all of the problems they still do after all of this time. That doesn't even mention the rest of the site problem.
really people, put a bit of $$ into it, hire the right people and get it fixed, even if it means having to redo the whole thing again. It can't work much worse than it's working now.
New forums are coming!! Goto this link for details

Judging by the number of people posting here (like you!) they aren't losing anyone at all. Have you left the game?
Regardless, for a company the size of Turbine to still have a beta ( now broken beta ) forum, is a disgrace. It shows that things behind the scenes are a shambles, and either no-one gives a damn about fixing things anymore or there just isn't enough money around to do it, contrary to what they keep telling us about their 'success' with F2P.
Leaving a 'beta' tag on a forum for two years is apparently now an excuse not to do any further work on it. No matter how they like to dress it up, this is their 'live' forum, not something that is being tested. The forums are broken, the blogs are broken, the game is broken, and Sapience always seems to disappear when things go wrong, and then turn up again later to answer trivial questions about horses or some other guff. What happened to Turbines 'promise to communicate better'? More empty words it has proved to be.

But yeah, these forums are horrible.
But the forum is not the game.
So I guess you aren't experiencing all the lag and horse stable issues and super increased loading times that is making the game really hard to play? As for losing people, I'm back to only logging in for raid nights because of the people I raid with. If not for the relationship with these people, I wouldn't be playing at all.

Pffftt!!! You know as well as i do that was all empty promises. As of late these forums have indeed broken the space time continuim, but turbine has been a black hole the whole time. Stuff goes in, nuttin' comes out. Smoke and mirrors, there isn't any communication, but this isn't a news flash either, i think many have realized all of this long ago.
Ever since they changed the forums performance has been pretty bad. Forum participation plummeted immediately following the change and, sadly, never recovered. The Brandywine server forum went from bustling to near deserted overnight. I much preferred the old forums personally.

I'm sure it'll come back Jeffor. If there are any others out there like me then it will. When the Forums first started acting up I got frustrated but kept trying to use them. Then I just said "Ah **** it" and stopped using them for a few days. They're all good now though and I'm back ticking people off where ever I can. He he. My point is give it time and I'm sure others will notice they aren't FUBAR'd anymore.

Come on, give 'em a break, it's ONLY been five years

I think he's referring to when they went with the new system (Custom VBulletin Beta) that we currently have and not the hiccup that came with this weeks maintenance.
