    Big step backwards?

It seems to me that the Forums took a big step backwards after yesterday's maintenance.

We have seen the recurrence of the post ordering bug where posts are appearing in the wrong order in threads.

I have started having significant occurrences of links not working. Clicking on "Go to the last post in thread" links are simply taking me to the index more often than not. This has been rare for me in the past, but is now very common.

Something happened yesterday, and not something good.

Edit: Just seen Sapience's post in another thread that there some caching oddities following yesterdays maintenance.

More often than not, when I click anything on the community site, it just refreshes the current page. The second click then takes me there. Opening a link in a new tab usually opens the index page, so I have to open the same link in 2 new tabs, one of which will usually be the page I wanted.

Split between any click doing nothing, giving the token expired message, and occasionally the server did not understand message. Totally unusable. I will try again next week.

Exactly the same problem here. Usually need to click 2-3 times, before the link actually redirects, and this problem is persistent in Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari, both for Mac and PC. Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. (and it reposted itself prior to the original post, with a different time-stamp; its now a few posts down, and cannot be removed, or edited)

    Re: Big step backwards?

Looks like their crazy sp_login hack finally bit them worse than before.

The back-to-index thing is actually getting you back to the HTTP_REFERER. If you click on an outside link it gets you back to the outside page. I have never seen a bigger blunder in web app planning. What in the world could have been the rationale behind that? It looks like it is trying to redirect to the page you want to visit after doing their login hack but instead gets them to the referer. Sounds like the most obvious off-by-one error but still... ###?

Exactly the same problem here. Usually I have to click 2-3 times before the link redirects. It is the same regardless if its Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, and it applies to both PC and Mac

    Hello?

    Is this thing on?

    Is anyone listening out there??!?

It's now been 3 days since the maintenance, the the forums are still a COMPLETE DISASTER. (...Compete Disaster ...complete disaster ...)

I'm getting Bad Request (400) errors by the dozen. It's eating half my posts (at least). I'm seeing half-rendered pages. Broken URLs. Broken images links. I've tried it on 3 different types of browsers (Chrome, IE9, FF), and on three different computers (laptop, desktop, work PC). It's borked on *all* of them. At best, I'm seeing 1 page in 3 get rendered cleanly.

It's bad enough that these forums have been "beta" for 18 months, but moving backwards and into "alpha" territory is worse. If you have to, re-image your web servers and install the forums as they were in a backup from last week. Even something that radical would be better than this.

    Re: Big step backwards?

This has been addressed in the larger thread in the general forums where it has been replied to several times.

We're investigating the new reports of 400 errors. The ninja posting should be resolved.
