Re: Looking for a combat rogue style class!

Don't know WoW, so can't be sure of what you want but here's my respons:

Dodge/Block: Burglars can'tr block ( no shield) but tend to have high Evade chance. We have some skills to improves the chance, or our defense in general.

Swords: Burglars can use swords, as well as dagger, maces and some other things. Different weapons have small bonusses. Most burglars tend to use Daggers, but you can use swords juts fine. ( I suggest being a man Burglar is this is the case. I think Men have a racial bonus on using swords)

Solo most things: All classes can solo all solo content. Burglars can also solo most 3 mand and some 6 man contend, relying on stealth and "panic" button skills.

Sneak: Best stealth in the game, when using some stealth items you can pretty much stealth your way through the game.

1on1: LotrO has no PvP like WoW does. You can spar other people, or you can go to Ettenmoors for PvMP where a other players controll the monsters you fight. I have no experiance on this, but from what I read Burglars hold their own in there. ( Altho I'm pretty sure I'm about to get flamed on this, because burglars are weak and nerfed and ###### according to some)

Repetative: Burglars have many skills that actually matter. On most solo mobs you can pretty much just run thorugh your attack chain and kill them before they kill you. But when battling mobs of a higher level or multiple at the same you you need to use every skill you have to get throught it.
There are differences between the build, from pure DPS to more CC/Debuff or random Gambler build which is somewhere in between.

Downtime: The cooldown on our basic Sneak skill is 20 seconds. You won't have to wait for this most of the time ( CD starts after first attack, so you have 20 seconds to kill and move to next target)
Then there is an auto stealth skill to get out of sticky situations and later on in the game an attack that makes you act from stealth till you use a skill that benefits from stealth.

    Hope this helps.
I suggest you roll one and play till at least level 20 ( 30 is better) to get a feel.
And try not to compare to WoW too much, because from what I read the LotrO Burglar is very different.

Looking for a combat rogue style class!

WoW was not my first or my favorite mmo. I just used that description because it is the best one to describe what I want. I Want a stealthy character that can dodge/block his way in fights. As well as hold his own with some swords (my prefered weapons). Generally a class that can solo most things, sneak, as well as destroy almost anything 1on1.

I played a champion which was fun, but felt too repetetive. I have always enjoyed rogue classes in most mmos. Just hate the downtime of haveing to use sneak to initiate msot of the time.
