For those still having issues, try clearing your cookies as well as your cache files. If you're still logged in after you clear the files, the erroneous cookies have not been cleared, which means you'll likely continue having problems.
Was having problems in Chrome, my usual browser, but not in IE8. Vista.
After reading this, I did a restart then opened Chrome, before coming here to the forums I just cleared cookies, nothing else.
Have not had 1 Bad Request or 404 Error yet as happened before.
EDIT - OK, since I posted this, had 1 Bad Request and 1 404 Error. Not as bad as before, yet. I also have noticed sometimes the pages look loaded but the tab icons are still showing not finished loading especially if I have more than two tabs open both in Chrome or IE8. If I wait for them to finish, it seems to never happen unless I manually stop the loading.
EDIT2 - Interesting, seems I have the problems usually when the tabs show still loading but if they are not, no problems (yet).

Yesterday and today I tried several times to reply to a thread on the minstrel forums. Attempts were done on Firefox on Ubuntu and Win7, and IE on Win7, with a restart overnight though no cache clearing. Attempts always ended with the error:
HTTP 501/HTTP 505 Method not implemented: POST to /newpost.php not supported
Finally I cut off a paragraph, and posting worked. Editing the post while keeping it short works, but attempting to edit it to include the whole of the initial post leads to a similar error:
HTTP 501/HTTP 505 Method not implemented: POST to /editpost.php not supported
Edited to add: Length and editing tested twice, of course it still could still be coincidence.

I've done everything suggested, multiple times. Restarted the computer, cleared cache, logged out, cleared cookies... this last time I thought it had worked as I had a 5-minute streak with no problems, but it's all come back. Words jumbled everywhere, far too large text, bad request errors. This is quite frustrating....
So, Sapience, it's safe to assume Turbine have given up trying to fix what they broke, right?
The 400 Errors are still happening A LOT and as usual, you've simply stopped posting on the subject and we've heard nothing about it for many days now.
I'd like to know as well if this has been given up on..
Still all the same problems. I even went on the forums with my boyfriend's laptop. Fresh boot, fresh browser session, no cookies from lotro.com but after 5 minutes... all the problems started happening. Windows7 and the most recent Firefox on that laptop.
I'm using FF12 under both Linux and Windows XP on two different machines and have no problems. The only issue I have is that if I'm inactive on the forum for 15+ minutes, I get a single "sp_login=1" in the url and the page I was on gets reloaded. I assumed this was working as inteneded (even if it is a little wonky) as 15 minutes seems to be the logout time if you don't have "remember me" selected.
I'm still seeing lots of Bad Request (400) errors with Chrome, but IE9 is working well. LOTRO remains the only site in my Favorites list where this is true.
Still having a far too intimate relationship with my refresh button. I'd rather not have to interact with it anymore...
edit: I tried Internet Explorer even though I hate it. Still LOADS of bad request errors but at least the forum text doesn't decide to randomly increase in size or move wherever it feels like. Obviously I had no cookies for this site on IE as I don't use it, it was a fresh browser and my computer has been rebooted. All browsers are up to date. This is SERIOUSLY aggravating especially with all the bugs in the game.
edit again: lol I'm actually getting MORE bad requests with IE. This is pathetic..

Still happening, with Firefox 12 on Vista. Also happened once on the lorebook. 400 errors, broken formatting, site not found, and missing icons.
Me too. FF12, latest Chrome, IE9. It seemed better on IE9 for several days, but is now back to much worse again. It happens on 2 different computers at home and my computer at work too.
This is literally the only website of the dozens I regularly visit where this is happening. I'm going to Ctrl-A/Ctrl-C this text before I post because there's a 50/50 chance I'll get a Bad Request when I press Submit.
Has anyone who has been having problems tried doing hard refreshes (Ctrl + F5)? This reloads the page exactly as it appears the server and should update all cached files on your hard drive. Sure, this should be the exact same thing as clearing your cache and then viewing the site, but its easy to do and worth a shot.

Just tried that and the very next thing I did (go back to the General Discussion Index) was greeted with yet another bad request.
Like Khafar this is the only site I'm having problems with, on multiple computers and on two browsers.
Problems are back.
- Bad Requests opening pages and posting, just lost one post and didn't feel like trying again.
- Pages displaying incorrectly (text too big, graphics don't show).
- Reply with Quote isn't working, I have to use Multi-Quote.
- Even Logging In and Out sometimes doesn't work right.

bad requests (F5/update page works though), symbols not loading, huge texts.. one would've thought that after 5 years they'd have a decent working forum.
I wonder what is wrong, I have no problems with the forum. I'm just using plain old IE
You're probably getting a high cache hit rate off of your local files, so most things are going to look and act right. When I bring up the developer tools and look at details, I see that I'm getting Bad Request errors for various requests on almost every clean page refresh. If you use Ctrl-F5, it will reload the works, and this will make it much worse for many people. It's semi-randomly getting errors fetching images, Javascript files, etc, and this results in broken images, bad formatting, and improper behavior.
I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to see theforum look bad, but if you really want to see... try pressing Ctrl-F5 a dozen times and see what happens. Then I suspect you'll have a better idea of what we're complaining about .
I am still getting these errors. Have emptied cache, tried multiple browsers. Nothing makes a difference. Sometimes the forum will behave for a few minutes, but sooner or later Bad Request error again or the page doesn't load objects properly.

2 Bad requests trying to post this. :P
I'm sorry you're still having trouble with the forums. (I haven't, not since about the middle of last week whenever they fixed whatever it was they fixed.)
I just wanted to say I love your forum name. I still have Grim Fandango disks in both English and Spanish, but I don't know if I have a machine that will run it, these days.
There's been less issues since the so-called fix, but I'm still being logged off randomly, for no reason. I read a thread, being logged in. I hit the reply, being logged in. I write the reply and hit preview, still logged in. I edit it a bit more and hit preview again, I'm still logged in.
And then I click submit, and the background turns blue, telling me I'm NOT logged in.
Then I hit "back", try submitting again and the post goes through, and after that I'm again logged in with green background.
It's not fixed. The problems just appear more randomly than at the "worst time", if such time can be pointed out as some people seem to be experiencing these problems a lot, no matter what was said to have been fixed...

Could this be affecting the launcher as well? The news feed often is just plain text, and the logging in and connecting steps seem to often require multiple retries, which problems started at the same time as Turbine broke the forums.
So the "Bad Request" errors are still occurring every other click along with most of the issues described in this thread, has there been any word on when/if the forums are going to get fixed?
Forum tables are messed up, some fonts are huge, some small. Lots of links taking me to a b/w page that says "Bad request." Sometimes if I hit the same link again it will then connect to the correct page. Sometimes it will log me out when I click a link, but then the next page will be as if I'm logged back in. My lotro stats still not working, kinship avatar images still can't be edited. The pile of straws just keeps getting higher.
