New homesteads and 2 floor homes

Just got my first home, I made it all the way to lvl. 75 without ever thinking of owning one and had no idea it would be so much fun to have one.
spent an entire day scouting the various homesteads until finally deciding for the one I liked best.
Still I wish there were more options available; I would have liked it very much owning a home in LOTHLORIEN ( up high on a tree) or in the misty mountains ( in the white peaks).
I understand perfectly that the homesteads were chosen as is, so that all levels have access to them, but the wish is still there and perhaps its not necesarily a bad idea that as you advance you discover new homesteads so that if you want you can get a home in lands further into middle earth.

also when hunting for homes I got a peek at the elven homes wich were of 2 floors and as desirable as I find this feature the homes were not really according to my personality, most homes fit the same pattern but I would like if if a few for hobbits, men and dwarves had a second floor or a basement.

i disagree, i would like if there was more homes in each neiborhood though, and i do agree that there should be homes in rovannion, so that not every player spread across the United States or Europe, didnt crowd each neiborhood!

I think, it is a very good idea :-) Moreover, I would love, if characters could own two houses, maybe based on a higher level. For example up to level 50, chars can only own one house in already offered areas. From lv 50 people could add one additional home in Lothlorien, Imlardis, Moria, whatever...

Re: New homesteads and 2 floor homes

I'm guessing this could be one way for a little bit of extra revenue. If the mounts sell for 1995TP each, I'm sure the right for purchasing a second house would easily sell for at least 2995TP in the store. I doubt they would create anything like this without getting paid for the trouble.

I like the idea though. If I could freely build my house anywhere, I think hte location in the middle of Lake Evendim, specifically on the little island where the sand castles are (they are still there, right?). What a peaceful place that would be... :P

Yes please. Please give more and better housing options... make them VIP or store only features.

I think that they should make it possible that you pay like 2000 tp's and you recieve a skill to build a newer house in certain areas. Maybe even more Turbine Points because it would be really special. I myself would want to build a house in Isengard or Moria. They should have certain places where you can track housing areas to build ones. If you could afford it you could then get your kinship members to all build houses and make a kinship town.

Re: New homesteads and 2 floor homes

Despite years of suggestions and requests, we haven't seen a major change to housing since 2007. Nice as many of the changes suggested in the various threads would be, we probably shouldn't hold our collective breath.

I'm pretty sure we will never see player housing on the open landscape. There would be too much potential for cluttering up what's now open land for questing with cozy little houses and hobbit holes. They tried that in Asheron's Call, their first game. It got to the point where you could hardly go anywhere in AC without running into clusters of home.

Our housing is directly based on the AC implementation, but they learned several lessons there and made all our housing instanced. We'll also likely never see housing in advanced zones because of the way housing in AC became quick, free transport to almost every area in the game.

Re: New homesteads and 2 floor homes

Housing is, for a lot of people, just extra storage and a free port....so any new housing would have to be designed keeping that in mind. A port to, say, Lorien is obviously more useful than a port to Celondim.

I think, if the "advanced" ports were additional houses, not in lieu of the starter-zone houses, if access to them was only purchaseable with TP, and if the ports were level-locked to appropriate levels, it should work. The additional slot will mean that current homesteads dont become unused, with everyone just moving to the high-level homesteads...the TP cost will ensure that everyone doesnt just get a house they dont want for the free port...and the level lock will ensure that you couldnt just port your L1 alt to Caras Galadhon

Re: New homesteads and 2 floor homes

Im going to end up posting on every housing thread i see i guess. I agree with 2 story options for other races, though most hobbits wouldnt go for it according to whats known of hobbits. I disagree with someone who posted that housing is just for "extra storage". Your house is supposed to be the place where you show off your trophies from quests, deeds, etc (too few places to do that in a house), your style (too few options for where you can put an item or being able to "reupholster" it), and spend some quiet time by yourself just chilling and enjoying the view from your house. (no crafting available at houses and the fishing is only lower level). We have needed changes in housing for years, we spend our time and in some cases our money to to hopefully find a way to immerse ourselves in the world that Tolkien created. It's a shame we cant have a home where we can truly go and try to capture that feeling or the memories of the fun we had playing.
