Thread: Questions about Envelope Quest

I noticed an increase in the envelopes I open with this in the message. <string table error, table DID

Not at all sure what it means but it seems to happen most when the Social Panel indicated a character in Bree in a group with other characters not in Bree or I see a character rapidly collecting an envelope over and over.

I know about the exploit and really, really don’t want to start yet another discussion about the rights and wrongs of players doing it or Turbine not stopping it.

What I want to ask is how to even the odds of getting a horse or emote just gather individual envelopes.

Will envelopes collected in one session of play have just the content available in that round of the Quest?

If we see people gathering envelopes over and over should we save the envelopes we have to open later when the odds are more even to get the item you want? Or once you accept the Quest are the envelopes locked as to content available only at that time?

I just LOVE the horses and the Toast emote. Want to get one for all my Toons but buying Badges is a money sink if the chances of getting one are impacted by the pool of items being emptied before the round is over.

Oh, is there anyway to tell when a new round of available items is starting? Would hate to spend TP on a new badge if the game is still in a round of the quest when all the horses and emotes have already been taken.

Yeah for the festival being extended!!! Have had a fantastic time in this world made so magically by the talented staff. Thank you. Just one little glitch out of soooo many breathtaking scenes and events in this Anniversary Celebration won’t ruin all my great memories and fun. But I still want those horses!

I believe opening the envelopes works just like any other looting job - the server rolls on a loot table every time to see what you got. I very much doubt Turbine would have made anything more convoluted, or created a different system in first place, just for the envelopes that'll only be around for the anniverary. From a coding standpoint, simply not cost effective.
