Thread: Harmlesspuppy aka Billsimmons ... How do you do it?

Man, How in the world have you ranked so fast? I'm a 5 year warg (minus a 2 year hiatus) and I'm only R10. I would have been R12 maybe 13 if I would have hung around those 2 lost years.
You're a R9, only 35k from R10, and you got there in 1 month!!! Do you sleep at all?

1 thing comes to mind, tenacity.

I lied, 2nd thing comes to mind, playing an OP class in the hands of a good player = profit.

He plays regularly, is pretty good at what he does, and chooses his fights carefully. I think that is pretty much all it takes to win. He doesn't mind soloing and he doesn't mind following/joining the zerg. I am a little disappointed that more wargs don't spend time away from keeps/other creeps. They would make a little more infamy I think.

And no, this wasn't a jab at anyone but rather an observation of the previous month (years) of pvp.

Your mini is a decent rank but if you were starting over could you get your Mini up to R9 in that short of time (I mean since you're assuming wargs are OP and we KNOW mini's are)?

I do alot of Solo'ing in the moors and there isn't a reason to hug the keeps as far as a warg is concerned.

On another note and to clear the air, I'm really boggled at the speed he's ranked so fast! No hidden agenda or questioning, I really want to know, because I want to rank faster.
So many wargs are so much better than I am and how I learned to play is from the higher ranked wargs or long time played wargs, i.e. Afters, Rax, Feel, Joyk, Zazel-1, Snark, Predator, Zigzha, etc.

His infamy points gaining reminds me of a champ who got rank9 at only one month.

He plays a lot, and hangs in the same areas as me often. Warg is a very strong class right now (some might say OP). He is also very aggressive. Combine those things with being a very good player who is not new to the game, and you get the results he does. No offense to you Chumbo, but I've watched you both fight, and he's a better warg. In fact, he's one of the top wargs I've ever seen. There's your answer.

Griz absolutely no offense taken! That's the very reason I started this thread. Yes, he's a better warg... hands down.
I've traited, traited and re-traited constantly and I still come up short. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but I'll post a pic of ALL my traits later today or tomorrow when I log in.

I haven't played Raae for a while now ever since Minnies are god mode. It's too easy, really. As for ranking up that fast in todays moors, yes I believe I could do it on a self healing tactical class.

Great 1v1's too Porky! I hope to get my 5th audacity and put up a better fight soon.

Bill is an absolute beast on his warg. Nothing else to say about it really.

IF you get ganked by bill repeatedly at gv you deserve to get ganked by bill at gv . With that said bill is a well rounded player that knows the minstrel inside and out which makes it a challenge for minstrels. He also knows where to go for food;P.
If they bring the food to you why go anywhere else.



Bills a skilled player in general.

You get a Free Pass from Zergs from friends/kinmates on Freepside

You play 10+ hours per day

Shadow Stance > Bestial claws > maul > Rend Flesh its basically all they have to do now to win really, most of shadow stance skills rip through bpe add to that DoF pots and how buggy they are atm, ie time to time the immunity they get for slows and or the stun pots that also seem to be bugged aswell giving an immunity longer than the actual pot

Flayer, takes more to learn but same still ordeal, plus you get a heal everytime and the debuffs you can run with that stance are pretty out there.

pretty much going from fotm mini to fotm warg same deal, pretty much im hating the moors atm cause of the ammount of wargs, ba's, spiders,mini's out there that all of the sudden appeared. Plus the ammount of lag hiccups skill lags im getting on my part (not sure if its only me, but heard of more ppl telling me they been getting the same thing).

I can guarantee you that he doesn't farm any of his kin (actually quite the opposite, usually won't attack anyone in his kin). The fact that you accuse him of this is just a pure act of jealousy and ignorance.

aww a thread about Bill. You're absolutely accurate about Bill. He's persistent, studies his class well and aims to be the best. He is super competitive and knows what it takes to gain infamy. He solo's whenever he has the chance and camps gv. I wish I was as diligent as him. In any case, he's one of the best mini's(if not the best) imo on this server on freepside and he's the best warg I've seen thus far climb ranks so quickly. This one knows his skills and he knows them well. <3<3 Bill

I must have missed the memo that wardens could tank t2 raids without blowing NS for every fight or without using masteries which have been called unnecessary and a crutch (in so many words) by some blue names.

Unless you were talking about the moors in which case freeps>creeps predates Orion's changes, doesn't it?

You need to tell some of your wargy friends that. I have seen a lot of wargs (including some that you listed) hug keeps or hips off to return with a zerg. I have had wargs run into the quest room of TA. I have had wargs fight me then disappear for 10 minutes while they waited for CDs. Anyways come to CM Chumbo! I miss fighting you!

I prefer threads with more drama and cumbersome walls-of-text. I'm a bit disappointed here.

Likewise! I've specifically looked for you many times on CM but I don't think we're online the same time very often and if we are it's usually raiding time or Keep flipping time for either side in the Moor's.

Also, the fight clubs that are popping up at 3 hump, GTA, etc will not last long since several on either side will interupt (which is fair since it's not on CM).

It's so off base from what I wanted this thread to be. Harmlesspuppy/Billsimmons, I've already sent you a PM... I think I'll keep our correspondence that way so we don't have something lost in the intense amounts of text!

Just based on my experience in the last month..

The fact that wargs have relatively few skills allowed me to build up a workable rotation quickly. As I ranked up it was just a matter of building one skill at a time into the rotation. The average freep have more tools at their disposal, which results in a steeper learning curve but also a higher ceiling. The vast majority of freeps however don't really put in the effort to maximize the potential of their class which allows the standard warg like myself to take advantage*.

*This discounts the minstrel which doesn't require too much skill to do well at the moment.

As to what I do? Rez camping/1v1s/picking off players in group fights get me anywhere between 2.5k-4k infamy an hour.

I don't PvE, so I'd never refer to it. And class hierarchy is pretty glaring and obvious, since every class Orion's touched (wargs included) stand a head above the rest.
