Just Another Call For Help From The More Educated Than Myself....
I've been quite frustrated with my computer lately.. A late 2009 model Intel iMac 27" (3.06GHz), to be precise.
The darn thing is more than 2 years old and I must say I've been pretty patient with this computer as I ran countless games to fulfill my "Gaming Needs."
Games such as:
StarCraft II
Sniper Elite V2
Battlefield 3
and others, believe it or not, have ran without much problems on this piece of @@@@ computer, yet as you may have concluded after reading the first line of this post, I wasn't able to satisfy the graphics part of the games.
So, I've been thinking if I should sell this computer (My only one ATM), and attempt to build a PC from scratch.
Here's where I pose the question to you guys.
How much CAN I sell this computer for? (Core 2 Duo 3.06GHz, HD 4670 256MB, 4GB RAM)
(Looking to sell online -> eBay, Kijij, etc.., )
AND
I'm looking to build a computer that can last for at least 2 or more years, and I want to be able to run most games, old and new, on high, if not the highest settings possible.
I'm aiming for about a 1000 dollar CDN to maybe 1300-ish CDN range as far as the computer build goes. (I can sell various other things to make up for money.)
P.S There are no major or minor technical problems that I've noticed on this computer. Besides, The screen is crisp and clear, and there are no major scratches.

For ideas on a computer build, Tom's Hardware is a very helpful site for reviews and analysis. In fact, they publish a quarterly how-to for recommended builds - the latest is March 2012:
You can review each system for three different price ranges. Once you have a general idea, they have excellent component reviews monthly (best graphics cards, CPUs, etc.). Spend a little time on Tom's Hardware, then go to Newegg.com or Tigerdirect.com for pricing and end-user reviews.
Good luck, and have fun!
