As for the comment about wargs, I have to agree.
Anyhoo, I personally have rarely seen you properly solo. Just an observation.
To clarify: I have no problem with you zerging me, it's usually my fault for running into the freep zergs. And I zerg back, too. But to claim you're usually "solo" when you're usually not is nothing but hypocrisy. That is all.

My idea of soloing is running around without being in a formed fellowship receiving buffs/heals/support from dedicated group mates. That's all. I'm sure you know this, but there's really no place for running around the map all by your lonesome on Windfola. It's simply a waste of time. I go off and check random areas for pvers whom I faceroll with my RK godliness now and then and that's about it. Aside from that, I try to stay around the action just like 98% of the people who pvp on Windfola.
You probably know this too, but you sound so terribly arrogant and conceited. This is a video game. We play it to have fun. Get some perspective.

Yes, I'm claiming creeps spend most of their time grouped up. I'm certainly not complaining though I die plenty and I rez and go back. Sometimes you run into me and 5 freeps, sometimes I run into you and 5 creeps. That's just the way it is, so what? :P I've never pretended to be some saintly PVP paragon, haha. By your definition, there is no one on Windfola who 'properly' solos. So why does it even matter?

1. You obviously have not spent enough time creepside recently.
2. Like you said, few on Windy actually solo. Solo'ing doesn't quite mean just not being grouped with someone that can heal/buff you. Running with or next to a bunch of zerglings makes you a "solo zergling", as many have called it.
Again, I have no problem with the zerglings. Just don't claim to be something you're not, especially when anyone can see you're not what you claim to be.
Re: Why is it there are sooo many people who only solo?
Look, this thread was from Pitboss asking why so many freeps don't like to group up. He also referred to this as soloing. Being one of the individuals who doesn't like to group up (also referred to by the TC as soloing), I decided to post. Never have I once written, spoke, signed or even thought that I was an amazing PVP 'solo'er who could earn a Naegling gold star for my efforts.
You may return to your previously scheduled shenanigans.

OMG! Coming from someone that is constantly berating his own kinmates for not "raiding" like they should. Telling others outside of your kin how certain players are bad and the kin needs to find replacements!!
Even posting on these forums you need people to raid with you, because you can't raid with players in your own kin.

We have officially gone off topic! You know Emmerald, you never seem to miss a chance to criticize myself or my kin when you see an opportunity. It's very easy to come onto the public forums and do this hiding behind a nice big ol' veil of annonymity.
If you want to start something, I'm happy to oblige. I'd sure love to know who I'm beefing with first, though.
Re: Why is it there are sooo many people who only solo?
Just a minor injection... there is hardly a warg pack, just a bunch of wargs at the right time, hearing the dinner bell. I group with tribe-mates if they ever log on and group with a couple of wargs, but most of the time I and most of the wargs (high-rank ones) solo. Oftentimes, when you are subjected to a "pack-attack", its someone in OOC telling everyone (the puppies) where this person is or the action is and puppies will just show up.

Just to clarify, I wasn't trying to be condescending with the second part of my post. Now that I look back it certainly seems like I was. Trust me, despite popular belief I'm not trying to pull an Arathain with my continued interest in this server.
I'm not trying to be some high and mighty judge on how people play the game. I just strongly disagree that when people talk about 'soloing' they're simply refering to whether or not people are grouped up. Hence, I also disagree that addressing this has little relevance to the thread.
It's also a fair point that solo'ing has a different meaning over here with the distinct lact of activity away from the zerg and EC/OC shuffle. When I was still freeping I felt that soloing (in my own sense of the word) certainly wasn't just a waste of time. But then again, champions are overpowered so there's that.
Re: Why is it there are sooo many people who only solo?
O.O
I guess actually soloing comes down to playing a toon that has the potential to fight ones and twos. Being able to choose your fights encourages the playstyle also (having stealth and/or escape timers), but it isn't exclusive to those classes.
I'd count myself as a soloer. For windy that often means cycling between the main fighting and roaming as the wider map isn't populated enough to stay away like people have said. The roaming can at times be a little less rewarding perhaps, but it is a change of pace and sort of suits guard for being a very mobile class, even if limited to melee range and with a limited element of surprise. Knowledge of the main fighting helps, and I can often predict (perhaps returning from rez) where I might find the fringe ones and twos that make up the niche.
Sounds mostly like what we call ganking (a misused term mostly in lotro), rez camping, and ganking pve'ers right? Well, in a way it is, but being out on the map for others to find with their call-outs or by other solos, whilst doing those things is what being a soloist is about, and some of us 'do' do it. More than 2% I think.
Re: Why is it there are sooo many people who only solo?
I beg to differ. There IS warg packs. Wargfola leaders lead them, and they can go from 4-6 to 12. Yes, they even sometimes have had 12 wargs on the pack jumping a solo freep. Way to look for a fight.
Having said that, i don't think no one solos. Being grouped in the solo zerg is indeed not soloing but i know of many freeps that truly solo looking for a challenge rather than some staring contest with an eventual push when overwhelming numbers show up.
Re: Why is it there are sooo many people who only solo?
If being ungrouped doesn't count as soloing then my post was based off of a misunderstanding. So I guess I will be more clear, in the day time I play ungrouped, in the evening I sometimes group with my husband, and sometimes, occasionally I will officially "group" up with other people. I was under the impression that we were talking about big officially formed groups when I said I don't group often, and now that more specifics have been raised, I just don't want to come across as a liar.
Re: Why is it there are sooo many people who only solo?
Some people solo, overwhelming majority follows the pack/groups up. Both sides, end of story. Everyone has and will be zerged, its just the nature of it all. I am solo 99% of the time and I roam the entire map looking for kills (as many can attest ). Sometimes other creeps are near and join in, sometimes the opposite happens, and sometimes I have to chase Captains into their own npcs as they use last stand and oathbreakers and still lose :P. As Aerdred said if you are a class that has more escape skills you will see those classes soloing more.
People die in a pvp zone it happens.... Only Shap the QQmeister is allowed to complain about such atrocities.

I agree, most of the time there isn't a warg pack. But like the RK (hehe) there's a large amount of warfare. It becomes more or less of a follow the leader. The leader usually has tracks (;
I enjoy killing and dieing, nothing is more fun then having multiple creeps on you and instead if running (which I'm guilty of) you stand your ground amd take a creep with you to the grave. Even though I agree with the "solo zerg", you can't blame someone for staying WITH the action. If its a staring contest I usually try to get a charge going or hope Thomas or another brave heavy is there to do it for me. Only time I group is if I'm saving someone with some heals or vise versa.
Don't hate me and BJ for that yesterday, and sorry for the weird mess up in the quote my phone decided to deleting that.
Enjoy the rest if your morning windy people & Naeling (sorry if its misspelled, can't be bothered to try and do anything on my phone.)
Re: Why is it there are sooo many people who only solo?
Wow, this thread has gone places.
@Naegling, you were on Windfola?? Why wasn't I alerted!
@Ygaer, uhhh I'm going to get all mad at you because it's what everyone else is doing, so /rage! You don't solo!! You're terrible!
On-topic, yeah true soloing on Windy is tough, as has been discussed. We just don't have enough ranked creeps that stray from the main fight, so soloing on a freep means you mostly run into questing greenies or PvE groups. Comes with the territory of a low-pop server, I suppose. It's unfortunate, and I wish it weren't the case, but it's the truth.

Hehe, I think its funny when I am on my cappy and all of a sudden there are a ton or wargs seeming to pop out of the ground, then once they kill a target they all scatter in different directions and disappear... Makes me wonder if it ever happened o.O
Re: Why is it there are sooo many people who only solo?
Oh my! Does nobody like each other here on Windfola? I just want to say I like all of you even the ones who kill me over and over and over again. I'm not saying I have never been frustrated with anyone or any situation ever, but people who kill me and keep me on my toes help me learn. I appreciate everyone who plays on my side and has helped me, and I appreciate everyone who plays against me too, because they are after all the reason I come out to play.

To clarify, things I dislike, in order from biggest pet peeve to smallest:
1. Cowardly players who run from fights, whether outnumbered or outnumbering.
2. Hypocrites. This obviously includes those who falsely claim to play ultra-aggressively and/or solo a fair bit.
3. Moors PvE at peak hours; unless you're a greenie creep working on maps and/or ranking up to 6 (freeps have no excuses, except maybe non-raiders building moors armor sets).
4. Exploiters. I'll confess I don't even know any of the bannable exploits you can misuse in this game, but stuff I do count in this category includes popping into places you can't be touched by some/all the players on the opposing side, macro gear-swapping, etc.
I must emphasize that I have nothing against people, just their play styles, attitudes, actions, etc.

<3. Now stop throwing fire at me.
Btw, it pleases me that you and Dinaria (sp?) are getting better. I remember when you two came out at around 71 and kept me fed.

Trust me it pleases me more that I am getting a little bit better. When Disparia (my husband) and I came out at first everyone told us we were crazy because we were under level, and in reality we were crazy, but it didn't matter because even when we were dying all the time we were still having fun. I had never pvp'd in any sense before then. I have always loved games but I had to be very careful of which ones I played because some...ok a lot make me motion sick. It was like winning the lottery when I found LOTRO and didn't puke. But due to my lack of experience I was totally lost when I started, seriously I spent my first 20 level getting lost in bushes unable to figure out how to get back out of the bush again. For my first really MONTHS out in the moors I was seriously a deer in head lights. Now I am getting a little bit better when I see the headlights I know at least to do something, I might still do the wrong things sometimes, and I still get run over plenty of times still, and I know I haven't even begun to learn everything I need to know, but an improvement is still an improvement.

I'm glad that you two kept coming back. Sometimes coming out at a younger level can be a deterrent when you die lots of times (speaking from greenie creep experience). Keep improving, don't get burn out. ... and hug a puppy that might be nibbling on you.

Re: Why is it there are sooo many people who only solo?
Soo from the little I read of this thread, apparently Windy is still in Freefall. I know at least back when I was in the Moors I solo'd becasue I got more infamy. That is a pretty big reason why a lot of people you see around, especially if you've been around for awhile, why they solo. For the creeps it means basically getting less infamy gain. For freeps, it means pushing the creeps into npcs. The other reason I solo'd was just for sheer enjoyment, I liked not having the stress of holding together 24 equally different minds and push them toward a common goal, the fact of the matter is it was too stressful at times and is overall hard trying to get a GOOD group going. Its basically a double edged sword that will always be there and you cannont change it unless YOU change it. I probably am going on a tangent and this has nothing to do with it so ARGAAFEWOFIJWAOIFHAJ.
Re: Why is it there are sooo many people who only solo?
To the OP.. i know how you feel. Although, my anti-social tendencies have a large part to play in the reasons. Glek smells so repugant that i often dont get grps anymore. *if shap doesnt take meh* I know i could ask to grp up and i sometimes do, but i hate to be an unwellcome syphon on a warg/reaver/ba/spider's inf. It makes me terribly sad that my healing fingers have become so unexercised, and lets be honest solo'ing defiler on this server? (im not talking about goldtagging w/blight and rolling in the infamy) but actually roaming the moors in a 1v1 build on a defiler is very unrewarding. Its not that i cant win.. its that whatever i find (or finds me) wont stick around once they see theyre going down! and why should they? my amazing good looks? CC me, sprint, or HIPS and run. i'll never catch up!

Such as yelling at me to heal.. really? Really?!? Either I already am or you/raid is doing a 'wonderful' job keeping freeps off me. It's also highly possible you've asked soooo many times for heals because of your P.O.C. strategies and overall failsauce ability to perform with more than half a brain; that I neglect you with purpose, and will continue to do so until such a time when either the demands cease, you grow the other half of your brain, or your ability to protect your healers improves.
/Glek signing off
Edit: feel free to pm me if you are unsure as to what p.o.c means

There's no smiley that will quite cover this... but, Glek, I think I love you.
Re: Why is it there are sooo many people who only solo?
One thing is for sure the Moors does not need a pissed off Glek. I would be honored to shadow you and rip into any freeps making your life difficult...not that you neccesarily need the help. Just want to keep our best creepside healer happy. I could stun em and slow them while you administer the beat down and kb ;-). Just saying always ready to be of help...
