And when your trying to stay on level for areas YEAH it is stupid to force it onto those of us with no need for extra XP.
XP and levels mean nothing ability to pla the class and enjoy the game and exploration means all.
They never seem to learn. They should add a slider bar for the bonus exp. All the way to the right gets you the max bonus. All the way to the left converts the bonus into extra silver/gold or maybe even marks or, heck, they like the store so much, let it give a few turbine points. Somewhere in between is a little of each. There, that way everyone gets something they can use.

Let there be travellers who venture ... Far from the beaten path
And let one of them be me - Jefferson Starship - Unused Lyrics, 'Champion'
well there is an intelligent well thought out reply.............
Should everyone who objects to faster leveling and dexcessive XP bonuses just stop playing......
Check the threads on the topic there are alot of people asking for the toggle......
Not Sure Turbine wants us all to suddenly stop playing.
Well lets see, will you get what you ask? The answer is no. Will I get what I always want? No! There is no sense in complaining about what you can't control. My advice to you is to just submit your complaints to Turbine if you are so unhappy with what use to be called "Welcome Back Weekend". For those of us that have numerous alts; we enjoy things like the "Enhanced" experience. There are many opnions on this topic, I am just throwing mine out there like everyone else

I have no problem with a welcome back weekend or anything else they want to call it XP binuses are fine in moderation.
A week or more of forced XP Bonuses and super fast Leveling is not that great of an Idea unless there is away to turn it off.
Options are good. I want the option not to get all this unneeded unwanted XP as I am very capable of leveling my 9 characters without any help at the pace I prefer. As VIP I already have to contend with rest XP.
So why is it so hard to understand there are many who do not like do not want fast leveling and all this Bonus XP and are asking for a simple solution a toggle to turn it off or a slider as another poster suggested.
I hope it gets extended, I still need to push my RK over the low 40s hump.
This. Has been great using skirmishes to advance my RK through the low 40's. Hopefully will be legendary weapon time tonight!
As a casual gamer, one of the things which does give me a great deal of satisfaction is character progression. Personal preference, naturally, but I do find it really rewarding to look back after a period of play and think "cool, I've gained X many bars in the last Y hours!" It's a very tangible measure of progress.
This is not to detract at all from the validity of the experience of those who enjoy the ride, the scenery, the atmosphere of being in Middle Earth. I believe we need to operate in a credible, imagination-stimulating environment to feel that we are not wasting our time devoting effort to something within that environment. If it got to the stage of being able to attack a wall for hours on end to progress (Dungeon Master, anyone?), then I think that would be a step too far.
Other games also have much faster levelling progression (post-cataclysm WoW, for example); my own feeling is that LotRO has not reached that degree of 'rush to endgame' with the xp buff, and thus levelling continues to feel like an actual achievement.
Well I understand there can be reason to toggle the xp gain off, I'm not against.
However, the fact that every mmo I've played do these double xp bonuses in events and festivals (very welcomed by the community), the items that make players get more xp are very popular, the custom (pirate) servers of many of these mmos are well know for double or even 10x the xp, etc.
Imo it seems that the majority (not everyone) want to gain more xp and not less. So implement resources on this maybe is not a good idea.
By other way, I dont believe the "Turbine conspiration theory", like they want us reaching the level cap asap to make us spend tps tuning our LI's or making us to start new chars to spend tps with. They want us playing the game and buying questpacks, expansions, etc. and that won't work with a parked player.
Keep doing double xp bonuses but don't make them common.
I wish XP bonuses were optional. Sometimes I want to bust out some leveling and sometimes I want the slow and easy route.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"
Civ II rules after all these years......
I'm loving the xp, with skirms alone i got my LM from 35 to 55 so far...and i get a big kick out of seeing her with 10 virtues at zero and the rest at like 2! haha I'll have a busy summer deeding thats for sure! She'll be my 7th 75 so bypassing content I've done 6 times already is a real treat (though, I did only do tuck and mischief over and over, and over, and over)
I don't know what the problem with leveling too fast for the content is, the only thing you lose from doing lower level quests is xp so it's a wash there. There's barely any challenge in landscape content as it is, so I don't see that being much of a problem either.

I wonder how many complaint posts will start when the double XP STOP.. Probably a few players started playing lotro with the festival, are kind of used to double xp, and wham, leveling slowed abominably
Your wrong for those that like the journey not the destination I wont pay for something just because they try to force me to skip past what I want to do. This Game does not start at end game.
That makes sense, you want to do the quests, because it's the journey that is important, not how fast you get to your destination.

Not trying to disagree with you. Just reminding you that what you say on the internets is a permanent thing.
Personally I would rather there are ZERO levels. You go through the content, earn rep, buy your skills that way. Take your time, do your quests, no level disparity between players. Earn equipment, and skills, and traits by going through the content, and you can start in any area you wish.
There is already that precedent in LOTRO. It's called Monster Play.

I agree with Nymphonic, to have the choice would be great, especially for those of us with lifetime accounts who have chronic altitis - and therefore almost always have rest xp.
But for those wanting to know - the double xp is now off.
Indeed. To answer the question, no, the double experience has been disabled.
And with that answer given, closing this thread out.
