Do any of you still run GBs and skirms anymore? I used to see a lot forming out, but now I see very few. Can't really find many people to form one on my own either. Ridder seems kind of event-less except for the high levels running various instances.
Our Kin - Order of the Morning Star has done a lot of Great Barrows as we work our lower level or new recruits into group play. Usually all you need to do for a GB run is go into Bree-town (maybe out to Bree-land) and do /lff and ask if anyone wants to do GB. Sometimes you get people way over level but usually its not hard to forma group you just need to be the one to start it. Or wait around in Bree-town and watch the LFF channel.
Some people still run GB, but honestly, unless you wanna stand around bree for a couple hours, it's just not worth the time investment. It's almost never run at lv75 - people grind seals and medallions off the Isengard instances. Kind of a shame, really, at low levels, the GB armor is pretty decent.
Skirms are run a little more frequently, and it's a little easier to find people to join you with the Instance Finder. Most people who are looking for people to skirm with usually join the instance finder queue, and then maybe throw an ad into public channels to tell they're in the IFQ. I've done this on more than one occasion, and have generally been successful in finding at least one other person to skirm with me. If not, I just wait out the 5 minutes in the queue for the game to set me up with a solo skirm.
You'll want to keep your skirm soldier leveled up, by the way. They don't tell you right away, but later on (in your mid-to-late 50s) you'll be required to run some skirms as part of the Epic Quest (and you'll want to, if only to unlock 3 more free skirmishes then and a few more later later on - by this time, you'll probably be sick of Gonda/Tuck unless you've purchased any others from the lotro store or are a subscriber).
