Sjalar Ost is a relatively new kinship formed about one week before this post was (originally) made and is based around (but not limited to) an RP storyline involving a few of its [IC] founders. It is essentially a brotherhood consisting of all classes, levels, etc.
. We are currently: Rank 7. (Mid/Heavy RP)
Background:
Själar öst means "Souls of the East" in Swedish, though for in-game RP purposes, this is in the language of the Hjolmun people. The Hjolmun, by the way, are a race of men who inhabit the North-Eastern reaches of Rhun. Yes, I did take the liberty of creating an entire race of men myself for RP purposes. Very little is said of Rhun and its people in Tolkien's various works, so I figured that I could get a little creative and tailor some truths, fill in some spaces, and imagine my way through the fabrication of some sort of unique situation.
Anyhow... The Master of the kin is the character Njaal. He was born the son of a chieftain of the Hjolmun (I use the title Jarl for the chieftaincy. It's common enough). Shortly after his birth, most of his family was murdered by a rival clan, himself and his brother being the only survivors. They travelled into the West and so on and so forth, that is not really important.
After many years, Njaal found himself in Bree, and, when wandering about the city, was approached by a man. The man claimed to be Bjalfi, Njaal's uncle. The two talked for a while, and Bjalfi informed Njaal on the goings-on in their homeland and of the state of the Hjolmun. Godur, head of the clan that murdered Njaal's family, had become Jarl. He had sworn fealty to Sauron, and, as a result, the Hjolmun were migrating South to rally in Mordor. Bjalfi, along with a few of his house, fled West, being good at heart and not wanting to serve Sauron.
Along the way, Bjalfi encountered Thartaag, an Ironfist dwarf (I took another liberty in saying that some Ironfists dwelt in Rhun, though it is likely). They became friends, and Bjalfi learned that Thartaag was the head of a contingent of Ironfist dwarves being sent West to make contact with Durin's folk (the Longbeards).
Njaal, Bjalfi, and Thartaag formed Sjalar Ost to provide each other (as well as their fellows) with companionship and support in their various endeavors. Any recruits must be affiliated with either Njaal, Bjalfi, or Thartaag, but that's pretty much inferred.
OOC Information:
We do not require that recruits be any certain race or class, though if you are a Man or Dwarf, you have the option of being one of either Bjalfi or Thartaag's companions from the East (RP background).
As this kin's main purpose is to provide a basis for RP, we require that all recruits be quality RPers. We are looking for mature players who are willing to accept just about any RP from just about anyone. NOTE: You do not by any means have to RP full-time. Questing, leveling, and the like are quite alright. Do what you want to do, the main thing is to have fun.
While Sjalar Ost is an RP-focused kinship, our goal is to be slightly laid-back. Many of our current members are usually busy on weekdays, making weekends the most active time. We do not have any time-input requirements, though we do want members to be dedicated to RPing, having fun, and helping each other (within your means).
Recruitment will mostly be done IC, with very few exceptions being made. Feel free to contact members OOCly with questions about the kin, though, and check out our website at: http://sjalarost-landroval.guildlaun...e3539b07e4db5a
For more information or if you have questions, contact Njaal in-game via tell or mail, or visit the above site. I tend to ramble a bit whenever I make a long forum post, so a real-time conversation would probably get information through much more effectively.
- Njaal
P.S. Due to in-game kinship-naming limitations, I had to name the kinship "Sjalar Ost". Without the umlauts, this means, roughly, "wraps cheese" or something equally as ridiculous. Please keep this in mind if you investigate...

Sjalar Ost has really grown up these past few weeks, but our membership is still fairly low, especially when one looks at the overall activity of our members. I am now visiting these forums frequently and am on the kin's site multiple times a day, so if you have any questions or comments, feel free to send me a Private Message on one or the other.
Don't be a stranger in-game, either! If you see any of our members, including myself, who appear to be unoccupied, don't hesitate to engage them in some RRP and/or send them a tell to say, "Hello!" You'll find that getting to know us is fairly easy, and that we're up for just about any Roleplay more often than not.
What times of day are ya'll active? How many active members do you have at your guilds primetime? Do you have any events that you do or just freeplay in game roleplay? This sounds like a group I would be interestead in if you can stomach having a hobbit ministral. I have decided I want to be a hobbit for one of my first characters coming back to the game.
