You should read more often. This entire thread is just a few pages. Heck, I tear through a couple novels a week. Forum posts are nothing.

A top healing RK can pull out about 1800 HpS. Add a good captain offheal support and you are way north of 2500 HpS.
Are we talking AoE or Single Target?
Either way that number is a very far off from realisitic RK HPS.
Single target I pull around 1.2k HPS (without the moors set I pull around 900)
AoE is 2k+ but this is mostly overhealing (PvE set/no CD). Due to our class mechanics our HPS is an inaccurate representation of our effective healing. I haven't formally tested my AoE heal since I got the moors healing set so the AoE HPS stated was taken with the Orthanc set.
When I AoE heal I have WoH on 6 - 7 people in my group providing around 600 - 700 HPS that is nearly useless. I see WoH as a "mark" to help out the give player in an emergency situation rather than an effective heal. That's not to say it isn't a great heal, it's just not something I use to heal somebody who needs it. For example if somebody is about to die, I'm not going to use WoH on them to try and heal them...
I can't AoE heal when getting focus fired by a raid. RK's one AoE ability is channeled and can be easily interrupted. There are very few times I'm able to get that off while being focus fired (generally lower creep/warg numbers allows me to get it off).
Average HPS in a group situation: (relative to our six man group, Moors set)
1.5k hps = 3 - 5 more creeps
1.2k hps = 6 - 9 more creeps
1k hps or less = More than 10 creeps

I parse in the moors; the most TPS I have ever had was 1k and I died very quickly. I usually have between 400 - 600 TPS This was taken before I had my audacity set.
Myself or one of my group members is often bursted at the beginning of the fight. It's fair to say one creep doesn't have enough burst damage but 10 do. Let's say you have 10 BA and they all VT one target at the same time, there is nothing a light armor class can do to counter this.

It definitely has a great deal to do with skill levels. There are many freep raids that run with the same classes we do (including healing RKs) and wipe to equal numbers. With the same classes, same skill level and more people, they theoretically should be able to take on way 2 creep raids. This is not the case, freep raids often are defeated by equal numbers.

Freeps definitely have an advantage over creeps in many ways but, when it gets to the point where its 2 - 3 times our numbers we shouldn't be able to survive against an organized group. There was a great Strength and Honour creep group out not too long ago who used interesting and new strategies against us, which worked pretty well. I suspect if they had a numerical advantage against us and used those same strategies we would have lost.
Contrary to popular belief there are many unused strategies and tactics (At least nobody has used them against me) that would shut any healing RK down.

GW2 was disappointing for me at first blush. Targeting is terrible; UI is just downright bad IMO (clickers will love it though...ugh...); skills are gimmicky; the run animation - omg bad (I know I am weird but this bugs me); voice acting was not good so far; female character models are downright trashy with all the big boobs; WvW was so much PvE it surprised me after all the hype. I joined one game for competitive PvP, which was really fun, but they'll need a deserter debuff or something. I would suggest only pre-mades or else not to bother. You can vote kick though, which is awesome. Lotro needs a vote-kick option. Vote-kick right outta the 'Moors
Some good things - character creation is really good even though I can't play the race I want yet. The map is pretty seamless so it's easy to see where you're going and where you've been. Graphics are good but a little cartoony (not as bad as WoW though). Weapon and skills progression is really a great concept.
It's just beta but IMO, they have a ways to go before it's close to polished. I also couldn't get into the server that my friend is on; and then the client kept crashing this morning (which is likely something with my system it doesn't like).
I was expecting more
Will try again later.
Targeting is difficult at first glance. However, the auto target allows you to hit the nearest target if you click a skill. This is a bit weird and unlike most all other mmos out there, so it takes getting use to. My first day out way back before the BWE was a bit of a pain, however it grew on me and I like it now much better.
The female chars are a bit trashy, but you can get them some decent clothes pretty quickly. You can even do a bit hefty if you choose. They said they were adding more customization in future patches during one of the podcast interviews.
The running doesn't bother me, I don't really like the char starting area, but like their movement. The asura are just funny as hell to watch move, but you all won't get that for another BWE or two.
I like the complexity of the skills. Here it is just one attack, debuff, heal per skill. There you can have 4 things or more rolled into one so you don't have 6 hotbars of mostly #### with 5 skills you normally use. Spam clicking past level 8 pretty much gets you dead or others dead. You move or lose and it is kind of twitchy, which is how I like it. You can easily tell skilled players from button masher/sit in place people.
I love the PvP, except for uneven matches in the battle-zone areas. Anything not even numbers means you lose. Luckily, they are tweaking the auto-balance to help with that. As it stood sometimes it would auto balance the wrong team making it worse, or not kicking in when it should have.
The dynamic events once you got to about level 10 are awesome. Several times it was just 1-2 or 2-4 of us trying to complete a 4 chain link. At the end of one a big troll came out after we beat back some bandits and went WTFROLLSTOMP on my azz (of course I was 4 levels too low and it was a main mob guy). Got raised and we kited, stun, crippled, and had a guardian stomping the #### out of it. Think the fight lasted 15 minutes at least but we got it. That chain was the best PvE experience I have ever had. However, the zerg style in the lowbie areas are in comparison alright at best unless few join in. Too much of a zerg, but since tons of people were on at the same time I can look past that.
PvP is a blast, defending a keep while you are going to lose with few numbers, you can still do some heavy casualties with the right classes, tactics, and changing of skills. IWe would trait into a falling skill spread poison, jump down with my necro, have poison explosion when my pets died, and life leech active. We'd couple that with an ele or two knocking out meteor swarm and storm from up top and frick some people up with mortars right at the door. Many a kill that way with just a few of us coordinating. There are quite a few PvE chars. They did it on purpose from the start. Not that I like it really, but they wanted solo people to go out and do stuff in the PvP world if they didn't want to fight by the zergs. You can sometimes get supplies and other stuff from the mobs to help defend keeps so it at least has a purpose.
We keep chuckling about that Pure Tanks Raids comment Jaiyne. Pure "tanks raids" with 4 uruk heals backing him, a defiler healing him and random Bubbles being chucked his way by friendly WLs. Usually if we run into a raid with our single group, he lasts about 10 seconds and that's with 15k heals being chucked his way.
I wish they'd change the sound effects for freeps btw...the WAAAAH!! HAAAAA! BZZZJJJJJJHHHH! Sounds are really getting old, it especially sucks when you get like 20 of those landing on you all at once..it's like gong to a bad Spice Girls revival concert. Pure is probably mostly brain damaged at this stage from the sound effects alone, not to mention the inevitable epileptic condition from the graphics show.
