no, of course, I won't complain 'bout the lottery.
It's just a lil' thing ...
Being German, I'm living in another world time zone than the displayed ESD.
Couldn't you guys show a countdown-like message for the actual lotteries ?
And, maybe, a relative ending-time of the lotteries that already have passed.
I mean, once informed I can now calculate when the lottery should end, but this would simply be simplier.
Not that "ends at 6:00 PM ESD" as it is at the moment, but "ends in 02:51:17" and counting down to zero.
For the ending time, that should look like "... ended 17m ago". In steps: the first hour displayed in minutes, after that displayed (only) in hours, and thereafter displayed in days.
And don't tell me that would be too difficult to program, afaik it's only one (maybe not too simple, but nevertheless quite) simple line of PHP code.
For the case that YOU will create that feature, I plan sending a box of selected and real good beer to the turbine studios. Just tell me where to send and which rules I have to follow for sending a beer case to you.
And believe me, I know what "good beer" is - I'm living where the brewery-per-person count is the highest in the world ...
Americans are too self-centered sometimes. How am I supposed to know what time it is? Is a countdown really that hard to program? Come in, I can program a countdown.

Can't tell how much of this is serious.
@OP: in the meantime, server time is always eastern-US time. EST (GMT-5) when not in Daylight Savings, and EDT (GMT-4) when in (as we are now).
Assuming you are in CEST (GMT+2) right now, server time will be your time -6 hours. If Germany switches DST at the same time Massachusetts does, server time will pretty much always be your time -6 hours.
A spaceship from another star / They ask me where all the people are
I tell them I'm the only one / There was a war, but I must have won
in the meantime, why calculate?
I have my pc-clock set up to show servertime and local time
when I hover above it with my mouse...
No more highlevel maths for me
Look up the time difference between your time zone and server time (compare /time and /servertime ingame if needed). This value is good for a few months; forever if your area's DST cycle matches Massachusetts'. Look at your clock. Subtract or add as needed.
Example: It's 2002 CEST. CEST is GMT+2. The server is in EDT (GMT-4). -4-2 = -6. Server time (EDT) is CEST -6. Server time is 1402.

I think you forget that there are a few different timezones in Amerika, so many people there have to pay attention and calculate too ;-)
That's correct. There are 6 different time zones in the United States. Less than half of Americans live in the Eastern Time zone, although more live in that time zone than any of the others.
I imagine Turbine chose to display times this way because the company and all its servers are located there.
However, even though I live in that time zone, I still like the idea.
